My parents migrated to the USA in the mid 50’s and everyone else as well I’m sure I have some very distant family in Mexico somewhere but I’ve never been there. Lots of folks have African ancestry without even knowing it. This African blood comes from the Spanish side, way back when they were battling the Moors. Nowadays, having light or dark skin can be linked to those recessive genes kicking in. In my own family, I've got relatives with green eyes and blonde hair, but they've still got those tell-tale indigenous features that scream "Mexican heritage!" It reminds me of what went down in the southern US with families of Mexican descent. At first, they kinda played down those native traits in more recent generations. But eventually, they discovered they had Native American roots buried in that Mexican side of the family tree.
When the brother was speaking about how everyone is black or black adjacent but don’t claim being black is eye opening. Fascinating. Buen video, hermano. Gracias!

No one is surprressing them, they literally paint their town with their history and they govern themselves. Where is this so called suppression? Or is it just something you've heard on mainstream news on how "MEXICO IS HIDING THEIR AFRICAN ROOTS". The so called suppression these people are under is the same "Suppression" the rest of mexicans are under. They are trying to force seperation by telling these people they are different from the rest of mexicans since they are black, something american propaganda taught you to do.

A lot of there ancestry came from Cuba escape slaves, (Mexico outlawed slavery years before the U.S. in 1829) The Underground Railroad also led to Mexico. The Underground Railroad also ran south-not back toward slave-owning states but away from them to Mexico, which began to restrict slavery in the 1820s and finally abolished it in 1829, some thirty-four years before Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Mexico was never involved in slavery its was the colonist Spain and France before the got ran out of México politically, the Mormon religious went to Mexico, escaping persecutions in the U.S. that why today you see Mormons and there offspring in Mexico also there's lots of Amish people and other religious people of that type who live in México

The problem is, africans in America and whites were supposed to join the Native race, Not replace it. That's why black Americans struggle with identity and white Americans have none. In Mexico the Natives retained more power which used to stretched the entirely of the west coast, but the Natives claim them as their people now, sure they have "roots" but if you live in someone else's land you should Ultimately join them, that's why they don't struggle with race, they are 1 now.
Also majority of black slaves were sent to tropical parts of America, only small percentage went north. Majority of them inheriting Native land who suffered extinct via disease and greed. But blacks have the audacity to say they have had it worse in "america", north America to be specific, or any part of the americas as a matter of fact.

No they are pysa’s not black mexicans bro 😂

They most definitely are AFRO Mexicans!! Although we consider them as Mexicans, we also shouldn't suppress their African history and roots!!!❤✊🏽
"You are not american but black american" is the same as "You are not mexican but afro mexican"
The Spanish did not the Mexicans.
Mexicans are the result of Spanish and Native American mixing
@@TheShowOff2I Well if you want to be "technical" Indigenous mixed with Spanish was called a mestizo. And African with a spaniard was, a mulato and one with Indigenous was zambo. But the fact still remains, these folk are Mexican!
@@TheShowOff2I Oh and the "spanish" didn't even consider Africans, human. They had them as slaves before they enslaved the Indigenous populations, when spaniards reached the Americas.

But blacks have the audacity to say they have had it worse in "america", north America to be specific, or any part of the americas as a matter of fact.

this man at the 29 min mark speaks facts. a lot of people don't want to say they are black or claim their black heritage. it is seen as being violent, poor, ugly, bad. this is not just Mexico but a lot of other countries especially the Caribbean sea area. shout out to you bredda
for this teaching and cultural experience and much respect to all those people you have interviewed sharing their knowledge and their lives.
No , it’s because in Mexico nobody gives a shit we all poor over there my guy
lol this is what american propoganda does to your brain, you must seperate races subconsciously. They are NOT AFRO MEXICANS THEY ARE MEXICANS. YOU ARE NOT BLACK AMERICAN YOU ARE AMERICAN.
I'm impressed by your knowledge of the history, language, and customs. Also appreciate your sincerity and courtesy. Liked and subscribed.
This shows we hated everywhere. I feel like the guide was validating self hate in Mexico for black people there.
Theres racist everywhere, light skin Mexicans look down on black Mexicans or even dark skin Mexicans those are mixed with people from Spain
i dont think so. hes just telling him that nobody is officially going to call themselves black in mexico; just other terms that keep themselves involved with the other races there. he says its a very racist country and everyone is pressured into thinking black is the lowest of lows but then points out black mexican achievements. most mexicans aren’t educated enough on blackness to speak on these things because they want to avoid the conversation at all costs. i think hes a real one for knowing these things. he wouldn’t be liked by most if he started talking about these things with fellow mexicans.
Man, that was a good interview
Good history lesson. Houston Texas
Thanks fam
Thanks for the vid bro. This brings so much history and culture to whoever comes across this video, and yes I'veshared it, lol. Thank you.
This is very interesting I really like this

Now now now! Just because some of them had tanned skin doesn’t mean they are “Afro “ . You can tell some just have Indian blood.
One thing about these Afro Mexicans spots is they mostly stay within this costa chica/ Guerrero area and their area always look clean. You don’t see tweakers hanging around or people begging for money and trying to scam you.
And no gangs in their communities.
@@jlhafishingisnotjustfishing You mean they aren't living in filth and being suppressed by the evil anti black mexican government like mainstream news is telling me????
Yes they don't behave like the mayority of the afroamericans, they live in reallybdirty and danguerous places.
New follower here and Wow! that man definitely spilled so much knowledge on the subject. I’m so curious to know more, thank you for sharing this!
You look like them but they are all Mexican they don't separate themselves like us in America
White Americans started the separation in USA 😂
And now they upset ppl starting to call them European Americans
