damn, this song always reminds of 8th of June 2014 when I went to the Iron Maiden concert in Brno - Ghost was the warm up band. I didn't know the band before (Ghost). This song really got stuck in my head for a long time cause it was the last song they played and it really put up the atmosphere that Iron Maiden is coming and Ghost are saying farewell, unforgetable moment.
Listen, I was there and they were amazing, as always. But I was part of the crowd, and I was not the only one who came for Ghost, but most of the others were only here for IM. I was singing all along, I wasn't the only one and I did eveything I could for the others to follow us but the 3/4 of them just didn't know or didn't understand the lyrics...
Pause at 1:03 you can see what epic mask he's wearing and how's it's worn. Even better view at 3:41. To be able to preform as well as he does with such restrictive costume speaks for its self. Gratz to these guys for the grammy win and very well done on bringing something new to metal music with not only the music but the theatrics too.
+FreakDaGeek If you ever watch the Noisey videos such as the propaganda videos they imply Papa is wearing a mask over a mask. You also see this implied in the year zero video.
Every video of Ghost I see makes me want to see them live even more. They have just such an incredible energy to their performances. It really seems like a full show and not just a concert.
The Old Ghouls had a different kind of energy they put on stage which i prefer. It seems more dark and less... Still miss this old ghouls like👆 Martin Persner (Omega) - member of Ghost since 2010. Simon Söderberg (Alpha) - member of Ghost since 2010. Mauro Rubino (Air) - member of Ghost since 2011. Henrik Palm (Eather) - member of Ghost since 2015 Aksel (Earth) - member of Ghost since 2010
3:24 this should be on national geographic, both of the ghouls are displaying their interest in papa. If I were papa, i would choose omega, he seemed to have demonstrated his value more, which indicates that he would probably be more committed. He's also bigger and would be able to better protect papa from ghoul predators. I really hope they don't fight over him though, I don't want anything to happen to either of the ghouls, they are both irreplaceable.
Martin knew how important it was to be theatrical and over the top on his presence. From his strumming flourishes, stomping, to approaching Papa at the perfect time of the song and genuflecting to him. But it must have been choreographed because Simon approaches Papa at the same time, and they both come at him at once. I believe it was something Martin came up with. I read he had a lot to do with the ghouls costumes also
Unfortunately most people here were only present to see Iron maiden and Ghost was the very first band to play, so the real Ghost crowd was stuck in the the waiting lines :/
DanielC10 No you are right! Too bad Ghost isn't that known in france. Personnally I had brought two friends who were discovering the band at that moment.
jeffrey7104 SAME THING, everyday i listen monstrance clock in my car on the way to work for last 5 years!!!))) because I DONT KNOW, this song gives me energy, and yeah, some motivation!! i think it is not sad... you and I, we have the key to productive activity! :)
Most people do not understand the subtlety of Lucifer. It doesn't have to be double bass and shredding guitars. As long as your heart is true and your mind is focused you need not more.
Yes, the crowd is not that much enthusiastic. It's because the Main Square Festival is a kinda "mainstream" and medium sized festival where a lot of musical genres are mixed along the day on only two stages. Furthermore, it was like 3 pm, and the weather was very very warm. The live is awesome anyway!
Faudrait mettre le full live, histoire qu'on sache à quoi ça ressemblait quand même. (à tous ceux qui les ont raté à cause de cette file d'attente ............. )
I had quite DRUNKENLY made a comment last week, I will ask the same question now, hopefully making more sense. Who is the guitarist with the guitar with the triangle on it? I am guessing it is Simon Solderberg.
Bring back Soderberg and Persner. I actually do believe Martin Persner will be back some day. It doesn’t appear he burned his bridges. Simon Soderberg,.....well, we all know he not only burned them, he had them destroyed.
Give it a few more years and Martin will be back after the smoke has cleared. I actually prefer if he came back over Simon, nothing against him but Per Eriksson (the guy who took his place) is a way better player.
I want to know something about... what papa said his greeting on the end of this song that speech that I want to know is said between 'thank you very much' and 'you're wonderful' he usually says this words the end of their concert but always I couldn't hear it Does anyone know it?

One thing I love about Ghost, in particular Tobias' lyrics is that he makes me have to look stuff up. The educational value is priceless.
