- Posted by www.fotoscenen.se Papa Emeritus and Ghost B.C. perform The Beatles Here Comes The Sun at Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden, September 2014.
I recorded this with three cameras. The first one I put in the hands of my girlfriend, not expecting more than getting good audio and hopefully a few frames I could use. Then I moved more to the middle of the crowd and shot with two cameras, one in each hand.
My dad used to play “ here comes the sun “ to wake me up every morning. Now I get him to play me this version haha.
I really hope they play this again sometime in the future. This cover is just fucking amazing
It's one of the songs that really got me into them. Such a unique cover.
And this song was when I fell in love with Ghost/Tobias years ago. Now I own all LPs, have seen them once, and have tickets to see him again in 3 weeks.
My all time fav band.
And don’t you naysayers from 5-years ago FEEL RIDICULOUS ?
Well there are new naysayers now that claim Ghost lost their eeriness. I think they’re full of it obviously.
They were so much better before. As much as Toby tries to take credit those “nameless ghouls” made up the heart and soul of the band.
@@2yoyoyo1Unplugged they’ve certainly lost the eeriness they had with Opus and Infestissumam but I love it. I miss those eras of course and will always mourn Papa II but I love this direction they’re taking.
@@stephanievanstempvoort3054 i disagree that the eeriness is gone, especially not musically
may satan take u
This is the perfect way of rendering the original song in a 100 times heavier, darker style (also bringing a new interpretation to the original lyrics in the process). It's another subtler way you can do a metal cover of a pop song, just make it sound haunting and dark, not necessarily depressed or crushingly brutal.
Lol it's not even heavy
who gives a shit. its good
who gives a shit. its good, twice
its not heavy its my brother
+Chip Vee shut up and go play music
Thought I'd add my two cents here...
I think the song also fits with Ghost's theme in the line:
"Little Darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting."
In the book Dante's Inferno, Satan is portrayed as being frozen in ice from the waist down in the 9th circle of Hell. So the line in the song could be interpreted as Satan being freed from his entrapment and returning to Earth etc.
Jordan Cornelison EXACTLY!! I'm elated 2hear some1 who knows about Dante's scenario of the 9 circles of hell! 👏 👊 I don't come across precious gem comments like this often enough!
Knowledge is Power. ♥
Jordan Cornelison thank you for your comment! I didn’t knew about this!
This is exactly what TF intended
Love that, Jordan
Ik im like 3 years late but Lucifer literally means lightbringer so maybe this is like a year zero type theme that describes the arrival of Satan.
This just shows the musical genius of Tobias. To be able to transform a Beatles classic to this is just brilliance.
This cover is so surreal to me bc it manages to be as heavy as a typical ghost sing while still being rather gentle like the original version. Very cool
what part do you consider heavy?
@@amulawa the eerie atmosphere of this version, Papa's soothing voice and the melancholic tune
Perfect building for a Ghost concert
it is open air
the church windows I assume are their backdrop
It's Liseberg, an amusement park in Gothenburg, Sweden. Was there, 10$ for entrence :)
I never have heard of them
The Church Windows are actually lights from a projector. I've seen Ghost when Papa Emeritus lll was performing, pretty fkn amazingness.
If only they knew what Ghost would become in 2024 ❤️
Not in a million years would I have predicted the kingdom's treasure Tobias would inherit, but nobody deserves it more
Man, I got a ghost record in a crate of vinyl records a few years ago and I sold it not knowing what it was. Now I listen to everything before I sell it. Lesson learned.
Soooo beautiful! I love how this song of hope is twisted into a melancholy anthem. If you have Ghost, you have everything…
My mind is blown, this is a fantastic interpretation of the original!
just found this after being a ghost fan for a while now. They continue to surprise me every day.
Same ❤
Right?!
Poser. This was in their first album
I am a huge Beatles and Ghost fan, but can't seem to decide which is my favourite. Ghost have turned it into something so different, love them both
Ronny de Ridder Oh, how I'd love 2hear Ghost perform Elenore Rigby!!! ♥
Here Comes The Sun...or the Son?
sickb2200 Are you fucking serious?
*****
It was rhetorical.
+Plumpy it isn't. this song was covered before infestissumam and its antichrist themes. It's just a cover of a song they enjoy. It was a bonus track on the Opus Eponymous album in Japan
It's the Son he means..
The Antichrist as h walks the earth....
That's me!!!
NOW bow down and worship me!!!!
+Erik Lawson He means the Son!!
The fucking antitrust you idiots!!
this is amazing it gave me chills he's so wonderful
The "Yessiree, Bob" at the end perfectly caps off the performance. :-D
+PhlashRockinmann or "... pater" ? I think the first word(s) is also latin, but cannot figure out what.
there are times in which i dislike covers but all the covers Ghost have made are just mind blowing. They truly make it their own and not a simply replication liek many other artist have done. So congrats to Papa and shall see him very soon
I am such a huge Beatles fan and I usually don't like covers of their songs but I'm also a GINORMOUS Ghost fan and just when I thought I couldn't love them anymore.........THIS. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I can't wait to see them on May 1st!!
the best cover they have ever made...I really wish this would be played more regularly.
I'm not sure how Ghost's cover of this song flew under my radar for so long, but I found it about 3 months ago,
I used to play this on my guitar for my kiddo when they were a fussy baby.
After two + years of pandemic this version has a whole new meaning for me.
I suffer from horrible seasonal depression and love this song always when the sun, not son, comes out bcz I can truly feel the ice melt.
Friggin' amazing performance. They made this song their own like Marilyn Manson did with ' Sweet Dreams"!
You did an amazing job! This blows many professional productions out of the water. Really well done man!
Visiting a Ghost BC ritual is definitely on my bucket list
I've only seen them twice but the atmosphere is unlike any gig I've ever been to. Hearing that enthusiastic a crowd chant and sing in Latin while smiling and having a great time is not something I'll forget.
By far my favorite version of Papa.
This will play at my burial. Perfection
I LOVE HIS MANNERISM WATCH HIS HAND MOVEMENTS ETC VERY COOL VERSION ETC
First time I heard this it turned me onto Ghost and I haven't stopped since
This is ridiculous. I love it.
Usually i never like cover version of The Beatles but, this version? Slaps!
what an amazing location for a concert
I wish like hell they would have recorded this. It’s AMAZING.
They did. It's a bonus track on the Japan release of Opus. It's not available for download/streaming on any platforms as far as I'm aware, but you can listen to the studio version on TH-cam.
@@jmannxiiiaaron I know and it kills me. I’d buy this song IN A HEARTBEAT.
this is an awesome video you took! Next to Crucified, this is one of my favorite covers. I love the way they transformed the song into a haunting melody. On the record it starts out with a baby crying so it makes the song like this eerie lullaby, soo awesome!!
Jamie Welch hell yea! I really crank it up loud when he sings the "I've seen the deepest darkness and wrestled with the Gods..." I LOVE his voice in those parts where he sounds evil heh heh heh 😈❤️edited to add I'm half asleep writing this and was talking about Crucified lol.
Just saw Ghost for the first time recently. The definitely have their sound down. Beatles meets Satanic metal. These guys have a brilliant sense of humour. Very entertaining.
Here comes the son and I say he's alright! Son! Son! Son! Here he comes!
This is just incredible, what a cover
Here's comes the son (anti-christ) and I say, he's alright. Son, son, son here he comes! Love the ghost twist to an awesome song. Not on Spotify though :( I need access via non TH-cam.
Secondo will always be my favourite!❤
I think I like this better than the album version! Thanks for making this. \m/
I have searched to buy and download this song covered by Ghost, of course, and cannot find it anywhere. Arrrrghhh. Love it
Bless u2 the core! 3 cameras TYSM!!! ♥
And Papa II is so beautiful! 😍 🌹
I love Beatles and I love Ghost!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Damn, I miss this Ghost. Just a genuine looking intimidating Satanic act with kick ass metal music. The simplicity was what made them great.
Yeah and before everyone found out that tobias is a complete fuckass as a person and is also and a freemason...
I can't fuck with that.
@@Ridley1911 i can
@@Tracy-rf7ri good for you.
I love the original, and I really appreciate this version.
Excellent, outstanding cover of this song.
love this cover.
And this is the song that made me become a fan of Ghost
This is my favorite cover of a Beatles song.
Best cover of this song EVER!
I would love to see this live! I saw Ghost Illinois 2022 and going to go 2023. Oh it would be so great to see this live!
Absolutely wonderful!
oh man the good old days at the "Infestissuman era"
Fucking Phenomenal. Really digging this band. Just discovered them.
i hope you’re still a fan!
I was there. Great memories. A supreme cover…
I love Papa Emeritus !!!
😍😍😍

Here Comes the Son
I lose my shit every freakin time I watch/hear this (version of) song/video
Son, Son, Son, here He comes! 😈🤘 Hail Damien, Hail Papa!
Badass cover!
I love this cover!!
John Kroese nah mate heard better
Very nice. Thank you.
Bad ass song.. Ghost really knew how to re-make it....
need them to play my Birthday Party!Somebody sponsor it..all invited!
One of my favourites
Wow oh wow ooh wow...friend sent me this...hes got great taste
the slide at :49 - :51 is unique to this video. Like the bone finger of the grim reaper tapping the shoulder and sliding down that back. rOck On.
The guitar? Was it Omega?
As the Beatles are my fave band ever, I'm pretty picky about covers, but this equals the original
missing papa ll.
The Gothic-centric version of "Here Comes The Sun"...love it!.
This is so fucking bizarre, yet so amazing...and did anyone spot Fairuza Balk in the front? ;) :p
NOT SURE WHY BUT I LIKE THIS GUY ...GOOD VERSION AND HIS MOVES ARE UNIQUE
The Sun = Sol Invictus = The Light = The Light Bringer = Lucifer.
Very dark back then, love monstrance clock , songwritings come a long way since , best band in the world right now, i love them, so so devishly clever
My fave band of all time being covered by the best band on the planet. Love it so much
Mesmerizing!
slept outside next to a church last night after watching this...had nightmares.
great cover also shows the mighty songwriting of the beatles

When the band was great its best line up by far
Excellent cover. Way better than original
I dont know if u can say which is better bc of the different styles, they are both great in their own way
I agree that this is beautiful
Antes del millón 😈👌🏻
Amazing!
I never cared for the original version of this song... this is great!!!
+Jeremiah buckel musically oblivious ameritard
+BlackPaw well dude, music is incredibly subjective, a song you might think sucks might be someone else's favorite song and vice versa.
same
That's an awesome multi-angle you did there. Did you happen to record more footage of this concert in this fashion?
Sorry, just this track, and a few seconds in the pit and from the sides.
+nostalgoteketpunktse you nailed it.
I didn't watch the video before i read this comment and it sounded VERY sarcastic lol
Wish that HIM make also cover of this song, it could be interesting
They're gone man, thanks for bringing it up.

I’m pretty sure they say “here he comes” on this version
At 2.21.. where does his 'magic wand' suddenly comes from?? And disappears moments later.
It was edited into the video. Probably from a different video of a different song during that concert.
Genial....todo musica y ambientizacion
I cannot stand the beetles, BUT Ghost really made me enjoy this song. Great job guys. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great job brothers.....much love....Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO
Brilliant!
I noticed how there wasn't much audience participation. I barely heard them when Papa pointed.
Andrew Zinner That song wasn't on the european version of the album... I'm sure many of these people didn't know the words.
SteelSkin667 Well, it's a shame if people don't know the lyrics, since this is a song from The Beatles.
Johan Elbe The original song was recorded in 1969, and despite the Beatles' cult status, there are many younger people (me included) that only know few of their songs.
+Andrew Zinner The first time I saw Ghost, they played this. Didn't know it was on their album, lost my shit...
"Cult status" LOL. What a way to refer to the biggest, most influential group in music history
This song should have been recorded on an album!
It was. Its not on streaming platforms but its was a part of Opus Deluxe Edition or something.
@@CaptainGarisen-bl3vp On the japanese edition.
perfection!
GREAT JOB ON THE CLASSIC SONG,, GUY IS ORIGINAL.11-5-23
