    The best way to wash your car is to never ever towel dry your car. I don’t care what anyone says. Towel drying will always result in some swirl marks. Get a system that removes minerals from tap water or a bucket style power washer and put distilled water in it for a final rinse. I personally wash my car with regular tap water and do a final rinse with $5 worth of distilled water I buy at Target at $0.99 per gallon. I put it in a battery powered power washer that draws water out of an attached bucket. Then I just air dry the car and it has no water spots and no swirls. I also don’t hose down my car with water first, instead I use a foam cannon to foam up the car first and then rinse it off before doing a hand wash. That way you have more lubrication when rinsing off the initial grime off your car. I have had my brand new car for 14 months so far and I am unable to find a single swirl mark.

    As a non professional, here is how I do my weekly washes. I use Optimum No Rinse (ONR). This product has been out there for years, and has been proven not to scratch your car. Once you have properly prepared your car, deep cleaned, mechanical & chemical decon, paint correction with polish and or compound, applied your wax and or sealants, ONR will save you time & Money. I can wash my car about 600 times for about $20.00, WOW! I would research before you buy ONR. Jason, have you ever used ONR?

    Great info! But you know what I hate, after taking all these precautions to get your car clean, you go for a drive or park it and BAM, dirty or dusty again! I wish they could come up with a product that repels dust and light dirt! I park in a huge underground heated garage(in the winter its heated) and dust and light dirt particles from the cars going by to exit the garage always lands on my nice clean car! Damn! Since I've started using chemical guys synthetic retailer, I have noticed alittle less dirt and dust but still....

    I ordered a couple of "Microfiber Madness" wash mitts along with some Eagle Edgeless 600 microfiber rags from the Rag Company. I was surprised to feel how much softer the rags were in comparison to the wash mitt and it made me wonder why use wash mitts? Why not always wash with the softest thing you can find? I even see the following in my Tesla Model 3 manual: "CAUTION: Avoid using tight-napped or rough cloths, such as washing mitts. A high-quality microfiber cleaning cloth is recommended." Would love your perspective... What do you think I should use and why?

  • @dawsoja
    @dawsoja 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    After letting the foam sit for a few minutes, the next step is to hand wash it using the mit, using the remaining foam as an additional lubricant, then rinse it.

    • @LeFlyGuy
      @LeFlyGuy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people rinse because the foam is supposed to encapsulate the dirt so no point contact washing it and scratching the paint

    • @jackdawson3983
      @jackdawson3983 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeFlyGuyNope, got to wash it first. The foam will not remove all of the dirt. The foam will remove lose dirt, but not all of the dirt . The foam will act as a lubricant for washing the car and not scratching it.
