You have to give the designers at Mitsubishi some credit on this one. I have been driving my new Outlander SEL for a few months now and so far I can say for certain, of over 45 vehicles I have owned since 1982 this vehicle is by far one of the best thought out vehicles I have owned (ok, ok I still have a sweet spot for my 95 Lexus SC400 :)). Keeping in mind the price point for this Outlander... The ride and handling are very impressive. The cabin is extremely quiet, the seats so far are super comfy, they hit all the right spots with my bad back. Fuel consumption is excellent at around 6.9L/100 km on the highway. The only downside I can see so far is it lacks some power, which for me is a non-issue as I didn't buy this vehicle for power. Now only time will tell if Mitsubishi's long-term reliability is as good as it used to be. I shopped around for a few months comparing and if you are hesitating to buy just don't wait too long cause the value for your money in this Outlander is unbeatable. The prices will only go up now that it got the best crash test rating in its class.

Congrats Mitsubishi for new Outlander,Triton and redesigned Eclipse Cross. Also ASX/Outlander Sport need new rear side and enterior.Absolutelly outadted.
But most important you need better service support. In my country almost don't exist.Use alliance with Nissan and Renault, use their good service cover.

looks really nice, inside and out. i'm honestly not a big fan of their hybrid system - i can hardly make sense of it - you do plug it in, but there's not much range, if you use the gas engine, it'll use enough fuel to render the 40l tank useless, again, not much range... especially under winter conditions.

I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 213,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

The most different thing between them, along with the exterior styling and the KIDS-ONLY 3RD ROW, is the AWD system, which would be SUPERIOR to the Nissan.
AFAIK, the PHEV won't be sold on the new platform. If it does, and it has only 2 rows of seats because of the space needed for the battery pack and other stuff beneath the cargo area, as neither platform is of Tesla's "skateboard" variety, reserved for more modern BEV's, it'd be sold in the old platform with the DISCONTINUED 2.4L as base.
Now we know Mitsubishi is in DEATH ROW and we'll be waiting for this car cycle to end to see their EXECUTION.
