Polarity inversion is useful with respect to crossing over between drivers, specifically in this configuration for integration between subwoofers and mains. Another potential use case I could see is if there are multiple zones playing simultaneously and polarity inversion may help based on relative positioning of those zones? This is a stretch. Some people hold the belief that audio sounds different depending on the polarity of the source, and depending on the topology of the unit it may flip the polarity from input to output. Having the option to flip the polarity allows those people to address this issue. I don’t think it’s particularly useful seeing as many subs have polarity inversion / variable high frequency phase to accomplish this as well, and this is a much more appropriate place to have this feature imo, but I imagine it’s a cheap and easy feature to implement in these types of devices, so why not.
