The islands you flew over are the uninhabited "Savage Islands" owned by portugal midway between the canaries and Madeira, they are dedicated nature reserves. The particular island in your shot was called "Selvagem Grande".

Just back from a week in benidorm ,what a disaster the hotel was fabulous and the food was out of this world but we had all inclusive which was rubbish and to cap it all a 8⃣ hour delay coming home as manchester airport shut down with snowfall ,and when we got back only to find out there was a train strike but all in all it was a birthday treat for her who must be obeyed ,on the plus side I found a pint of the Amber nectar for 1 .50,have a nice break pal cheers

Enjoy Tenerife mate . Usually go at this time but dog sitting. Hope the car is safe . Friends left their 7 seater at Heathrow only to come back and find it had been used as a taxi between car park and airport. 250 miles extra on the clock and no fuel left . 😮

I recommend a visit to Puerto de la Cruz, one of the larger resort towns along the northern coast of the island.
The steps between the Centro Comercial Martianez shopping centre, and where Apartamentos Casablanca
and Hotel El Tope are situated is really good exercise on the way up with the number of steps!
The Bee Hive Pub (Bar La Colemena) on Calle La Hoya is worth popping in for a pint (or more) of Dorada!
Also well worth a visit is Loro Parque, which originally was mainly large aviary type displays of parrots
and other similar exotic birdlife, but as long since grown into so much more than that, so much so it
needs a full day to visit and make the most of it, but you’ve probably not got enough time for that
on this occasion, so maybe worth considering for next time.
No transfers there from the airport only taxis at rip off rates

My dad swears by Sudafed, he used to be really bad but the doctor said take them a day before flying, hes never had a problem since. The original ones with no painkillers in.
