    All DT tutorials in a playlist: • Digitakt Tutorials
    0:28 Keeping your kicks alive and kicking
    2:44 Diving deeper

    Back with another tutorial. This time I show you how you can control the control-all function of the Elektron Digitakt. It's a great tool for live performance and to find totally unexpected new sounds. But it can mess up sounds as well during a live-performance which you don't want. Here's how to solve that problem. I also show you many examples of useful control-all parameters for live performances.
    Don't forget guys: hit subscribe, like, and share. It really helps me a lot and keeps me going to create more great content for you !

  • @sickrickTV
    @sickrickTV 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    very specific awesome video! I find myself at the moment to enjoy info like this. I have a question (which might have already been answered by your video): when I control all using a LPF, for example, tracks with HPF won't be affected, right (and vice-versa)? sometimes I find that bad. Maybe I should be more careful while choosing which filter to apply regarding how much I'd like to tweak a pattern, leaving it more open to mangling possibilities. Anyways, keep this awesome content up!!!

    • @Davemech
      @Davemech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Ricardo! Yeah that is a thing indeed. I try to keep that in mind but it's secondary to the sound design to me. Sometimes I'll resample a sample with a hipass on it to lower the volume of the lower frequencies. That way I can use the low pass filter live. Sometimes I shape a sample a little bit in a DAW with an eq for the same reason. I have a video coming up about that as well.

    • @Davemech
      @Davemech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers,
      Mostly some minor eqing. Im going to release a video about this in the upcoming weeks actually. I'm also planning a video on kick creation. I don't use that much compression on my kicks. I just create them to be snappy in the first place. I often take a day to create a few kicks. Studying the waveforms, listening soft and loud etc when designing them. It's a pretty long process.

      @Rustik1722 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Dave, I just discovered you. I'm brand new with this sort of thing and was wondering if you had a video on how to sync up a digitakt a digitone and how to get the audio to talk to each other, how the clock talks (I'm guessing through midi). I'm sure it's super simple, but again I'm new at this. Thanks for your videos!

    • @Davemech
      @Davemech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a script ready for such a video. First a couple of other videos coming up though. Output from DT to inputs of DN, on the master page of DN set the input left and right pan all the way left and right and both at same volume level. Clock sync via midi indeed.
      Hope this helps you on your way a little :)

    What do you do if you mess up your pattern with control-all and then you press func-yes by mistake? That happened to me a couple of times, haha, perhaps would be use to have undo when pressing func-yes again?

    • @Davemech
      @Davemech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yeah that sucks haha. Never happens to me anymore but had it a couple of times when I just had the DT. I save like my life depends on it. I save new copies of my live set projects all the time. So the list of projects consists of the entire growth of my projects. That way you can always copy patterns that you messed up from an earlier version of the project to the current one.
      I also use quick save a lot to save the state when im happy. If you then mess up a temp save, you can simply reload the project.
      Cheers!
