My mum has worked with children with Autism for over 20 years now, and she's seen that special diets like GF can really benefit children with autism :) You're doing great mama xx

I have aspergers / high functioning autism - so I might try to go on a gluten and dairy free diet. Very informative video.

@@uchennaezeani6499 29yo male here with Kanner autism, luckily high functioning. I've not eaten gluten now for one year. I recently started again, just because in the beginning it seemed to make no difference. Now two weeks later I feel like my brain is not just foggy, but like the fog itself. It slows thinking processes and makes me super sleepy and kind of synthetically depressive, as well I do have again a stomach like a balloon.
So definitely will continue gluten free since I am so foggy I almost can't concentrate at work anymore and get irritated like I am really an alien trying to figure out whats going on in the world. Did never have issues with milk and cheese.
The best for me is to eat alot of salad and fruits. And alot of espresso's as well haha.

Can you make a more detailed video of foods and drink you give Jacob throughout the day on a regular basis that Jacob responds good to? I am trying to create a autism friendly diet for my fiance.

I can totally relate to you here Stacey. My son was diagnosed at 5. We tried him on a dairy free diet and saw the change within 2 weeks, it was amazing and I'd urge anyone just to try. My son's now 11 and still drinks rice milk (with added calcium) and takes vitamins . Flora have just brought out a new dairy free "butter" which is so nice the whole family now have it. Best of luck with your journey hun, your are a real inspiration to others. x

I have been thinking of doing this for my son as well. I am actually gluten free myself so it won't be a huge change in our families life. But, my son currently doesn't eat much of anything so first goal right now is to get him to eat! He is living off smoothies so in a way that's good because he is mostly GF. However, the only food he does like when he does eat is crackers and cookies 😔 so definitely not good for him!

Yes we need to transition him to those!. He does love my GF pancakes I make so gives me hope if we fully transition him to GF.

thats great news that Jacob's speech is really improving now. So pleased the diet has helped. Would be interested to hear how he does going forward. Its tricky finding substitutes for everything though, I think the genius bread is bleurgh!! but glad he likes it xx

Could you do an update on how the GFCF diet is doing for Jacob? Maybe some tips, what GFCF foods he has been liking? I just recently switched my son to GFCF and so far he will only eat a few things bc he was never really a good eater to begin with. It's been challenging but I keep reminding myself of the benefits. Love your videos!!
    Take care!

Your videos are helping me so much. I went cold turkey on my noy 2 weeks ago. He was actually more clingy and loving. Had more energy n more curious of other toys besides his cars. I sent him by my mom for 2 days n she din agree with my diet, she fed him as she pleased. He just got upset real quickly and was tired the day afterwards. He came back home and dont like my f ood again.

I have been debating doing this for my son for a long time! I have always been worried about it costing too much. I would love to see a more in depth review of those books (even though I plan on ordering them ASAP). A meal idea video or "what I eat in a day video'' would be amazing also ☺

I didn't catch the kind of milk that was an alternative to almond? I would like to try that for my son. He loves almond milk but if there is something else that has a higher nutritional value that I would like to try it.
