      Thank you John. I think it is one of my favourite areas too. I especially liked the section of Roman road under the trees.

    Really love the video , superb bit of countryside. We looked at Six Penny when we moved out of Verwood twenty years ago but went for Fordingbridge for access reasons. Sometimes I wish we'd gone for it, especially when I drive out past thru Tollard Royal and Zigzag hill en route to the a303 and the Cornish motherland. Genuinely I think Dorset is the UKs prettiest county.

      Do you think this routes doable on a push bike in dry weather?

    Wow Dave! Surely an Oscar-winning performance of "Looking For Earthworks", Cumberbatch eat your heart out. And Logan must be up for Supporting Actor.
    Lovely walk in lovely sunshine Dave, you can pick 'em. I'm sorry Logan didn't get his crisps to reward his effort though, and I think a dog chew bears poor comparison to a ham and cheese sandwich. And then you nicking (or necking) his water! The RSPCA will hear of this.

    Packed full of beauty and interest! Thank you! I always thought place names ending ey might have a link to a island landscape i.e Selsey, Ely etc - perhaps higher land in a marshy area. Seems not in this case though - loved all the layers of history from prehistory though Roman to village history and defunct shops (and sadly pubs...). Well done to you and Logan for a marathon exploration!

    Thanks Dave. Glorious weather for a walk (we haven't had many of those this year). What are you sitting on at the final destination? Looks like some kind of bridge. I found the butchers shop in Sixpenny Henley rather interesting, because the one and only time I've been to the village was in the mid 90s, when I took one of my Highland cattle there to a small slaughterhouse in the village. I'm wondering if that was the place?

    • @DaveFord
      @DaveFord  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure what we were sitting on. It might have been part of an old farm building - it was towards the side of a field.
