Hi Dave, We did the Bere Regis walk today with our Springer Spaniel Tess. It was a lovely walk and such a lovely day that we added a loop down to Turners Puddle. That made the walk just short of six miles. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and many thanks for delivering the historical context - it makes the walk far more interesting. We did some of your Dorset walks last year and will certainly be doing some more in future - Dorset is such a great County with a bit of everything for walkers - and their dogs! Thanks again. Hello Dave, a beautiful film of Bere Regis…. Had a lovely afternoon stroll today covering your footsteps , and visiting the Church & ‘Choccy’ box thatched streets.I loved the remote walk around the perimeter of May’s Wood’ , a lovely crop of Fruit bearing Apple trees this Autumn. Took the wrong track and sadly missed ‘The Devils Stone’, but enjoyed the tree covered ‘hollow’ near the Jubilee trail. Someone today on my travels asked me ‘if I were you’ Dave ? So you must be a local Celebrity now Dave…….🥃🥃🤣🤣😊😊
Thanks Geoff. I have recently filmed a walk from Higher Bockhampton (Hardy's birthplace) to Stinsford Churchyard (where is heart is buried) - that is scheduled to come out shortly.
My Mum would have been baptised in that church in about 1925, Daphne Jean Newton... my family have been in the village since 1400. I am Australian and have never been there this is my first view of the place... nice

Lovely countryside Dave and yet again, glorious weather! My old partner used to live in Wimborne and she always told me it was pronounced Bear Regis, not sure how she'd pronounce the other village 🤫. Used to love a pint of Doom Bar but I'm sure when Coors took over the brewery they changed the recipe, it now tastes like a spoonful of sugar's been added, I find it too sweet. Probably just me.

Of course she mentions to Angel that her humble Durbeyfield family are descended from an old noble family now long buried in the church, so it's interesting to see the actual church / village / family that are referred to in 'Tess'. 🙂
Thank you - but outrageous language Dave - I'm surprised at you. Only kidding! Those names are hilarious. We did that walk to the stone some years ago - another good one is the Agglestone Rock near Studland which also has a legend connecting it to the Devil.

Thanks Barry. If I am filming in a village or town then I try to pick the times when it is less likely to be too busy ........ Sunday mornings are usually good! I can then film the "village" scenes early before heading out into the countryside. When I filmed at Durdle Door (a well known "honeypot" location for tourists!), I was filming on the beach at 6.30am (it was in the Summer) and even then there were a couple of folk about!
Brilliant walk videos, interesting too only marred by the awful deliberate scraping of guitar strings.... different music or laying off the deliberate scraping up and down the strings would make the videos absolutely perfect

Yes, we were lucky with the weather again! The locals tell me that the village name is pronounced "Beer" Regis.
