Well, Sean Connery did manage to live to the ripe old age of 90 and obviously had a happy and very successful life. I think Connery himself undoubtedly realised that he had achieved more than even he thought was possible. So his was definitely a life well lived.
The funniest line was cut; it was around 2:40 when he talked about Timothy Dalton's Bond riding the cello case down the snow slope, carrying the girl. Billy said that Connery's Bond would have ridden the girl and carried the cello.
Sean Connery is a true elder. He is the type of senior man that I hope to be one day. There are so many shameful people leading us these days and many of the great ones are dying from old age. Sad to watch but their time has come to an end as, one day, ours will come to an end too. I wonder what kind of strange, shameful, perversions will exist in the arts by the time we are seniors ourselves. Will we die in sadness at the world we leave behind or in relief and peace?
Although he will not own up to being my father......."DADDY" lmao oh myy gosh I am laughing my head off. Billy you are a legend of which comedy is so effortless to you.
How sad to know hes passed. How good to know he had a wonderful family.. The acting career is legendary...the voice instantly recognizable. He and Billy have been friends for many years. You are an incredible man Sir Sean.. may you rest with Angel's until you see your loved ones again. God Speed❤❤❤❤
This is the two best scotsman together. Sean the best Bond and so many other awesome movies. An icon and true movie star. Plus the funniest man alive. when Billy says Sean is his father and Connery is in tears. So so funny.
I asked in an impromptu poll back in the early 90's who should be the next King of Scotland, thinking King Sean all the way, to my utter pleasure, overwhelmingly the vote went to King Billy!!! And what's more, this tribute didn't even mention The Wind & The Lion (may have been one frame) which is my fav ever Connery movie with the possible exception of Zardoz.
definitely the best bond but it could be just my generation who thinks so with many others I'm sure. For me at least the rest have been imitators of him.
brilliant intro from billy connolly. one of sean connery,s best performance was in a movie called the hill. excellant movie set in a ww2 prision stockade. connery shines in it.
Love these events where u just see everyone. Billy Connolly, Sean Connery, Richard Curtis, Michael Caine, Helena Bonham Carter and Jennifer Ehle (in what looks like dreadlocks!!! I expected Helena Bonham Carter rocking that hairstyle). Sean’s reaction to Billy is just pure delight. The best James Bond. Billy Connolly the best comedian.
“And THEN what are you prepared to do?...You want to get Capone, here’s how you get him. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. THAT’S the Chicago way, and that’s how you get Capone.” From Chile my deepest regrets, "The Man who would be King", was truly a King.
Sir Sean Connery is a legend. Besides Bond, such great movies as Man who would be King. His Bonds were great but never showed his full range due to the character. His best performance was a disgraced solider in The Hill. A dramatic and disturbing film with Ian Hendry and Roy Kinnear. A lot of people don't know Sean got started as a Shakespearean Actor on Stage until his big break with Dr No. As for Billy Connolly - a fantastic and hilarious tribute.
He just doesn't like fanboys and being 'typecast' because of the part. He doesn't really hate the character, he did come back and play Bond again after he quit ("Never Say Never Again" came 12 years after his last Bond film, when he did say he'd never play the part).
Highlander still makes me laugh, and I love that movie btw but it makes me laugh to think that Sean who was Scottish was playing an ancient Egyptian while Christopher Lambert who grew up in France was playing a Scotsman
Yes i read wrong. This is a quote from him: "I never disliked Bond, as some have thought. Creating a character like that does take a certain craft. It's simply natural to seek other roles." So im not the only one who thought that. But there is no need to be an asshole about it though...
You can see he really doesn't give a toss about that award, anymore than Billy cares about his scripted BS. Just there barely out of politeness. At least he had Billy there to make em laugh.
If i remember correctly, then sean connery isnt very happy about people reminding him of his plays as james bond. I even believe i've read somewhere that he hates the character.
One legend paying tribute to another legend, Rest In Peace Sir Thomas Sean Connery.
Aye one Scotsman to another
Tbh i loved Connery until i knew he was a wife beater. An absolute beast.
Such a humble guy was Sean, it's weird to watch this back now, knowing he's sadly gone 😢

That’s billy Connolly all over
Sean Connery and Billy Connolly are the best...😍😍🇿🇦
The 2 Both Best Ever,
That was a proud moment for Scotland, well done Sean, you've done your country proud!
Sean Connery is a true elder. He is the type of senior man that I hope to be one day. There are so many shameful people leading us these days and many of the great ones are dying from old age. I agree he was the best James Bond ever, a fine actor
And rightly so Sir Billy Connolly Gave the speech to Sir Sean Connery in A room Full of Englanders.
“And THEN what are you prepared to do?...You want to get Capone, here’s how you get him. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. THAT’S the Chicago way, and that’s how you get Capone.”
From Chile my deepest regrets, "The Man who would be King", was truly a King.
From Glasgow
I love Sean Connery
Only Billy could pull off something like that. He's one of a kind.
Sir Sean Connery is a legend. Besides Bond, such great movies as Man who would be King. His Bonds were great but never showed his full range due to the character. Best trivia ever; he got the part of James Bond by walking, upon which his gait was noticed and described as 'being like a panther'.
totally agree, the hill was amazing movie
comets00 It's one of those movies that did minimalist acting without even trying to be minimilist.
SiliconBong evryone played a good part in that movie, solid performance
I think that's the first time I have seen Connery smile.Congratulations,Billy Connolly.
'The best James Bond ever!' Does anything else need to be said? :)
Funny and touching.

Yes i read wrong.
This is a quote from him:
"I never disliked Bond, as some have thought. Creating a character like that does take a certain craft. It's simply natural to seek other roles."
So im not the only one who thought that.
But there is no need to be an asshole about it though...
That meant more to him than any Oscar cause it was the British Awards.
Diffently
شون كونري عالمي عالمي عالمي وبس
Does anyone know what dvd this can be found on please
Rest in peace
George lazenby for me ! OHMSS BEST BOND FILM .
anyone know the name of the song that starts playing during the red october clip?
Midnight Song, Sax Appeal Orchestra.
"Those limp-wristed Jessies...!" Sean would sort them all out!
Connelly and Connery definitely MEN... not Jessies...😍😍😍
RIP.
Does anyone know the name or where the music is from that’s played during the montage towards the end? Thanks.
Midnight Song, Sax Appeal Orchestra.
What's the music at 6:40? Sounds like a piano introduction to something I should recognise but can't quite place it.
Midnight Song, Sax Appeal Orchestra.
Daddy!! 😂
Who's like him
@semperfijoe92
