9:27 To be honest I don't think the writer did it know about this ether Either he probably only watch the Wonderbolts Academy and Forgot about the episode Parental Glideance And usually that happen a lot specially with new writers Which a lot of people do not like Because of lack of continuity
13:25 am I the only one who thinks Spitfire sounds like Ruby from Steven Universe here? 14:25 yeah... here's where Dash can't be excused due to actually looking out for Scoots' safety anymore and let her ego blind her. She can still be a FAN of The Washouts without actually joining them. All Dash had to do was confirm Scootaloo was now certain not to join the team and that would've been that. 16:22 but... it's not even half eaten. It literally just has 1 bite taken out of it 18:13 um... Dash could go tell your aunts, whom you are living with. Pretty sure THEY can stop you, as I HIGHLY doubt they'd be okay with their niece doing something that could easily get her killed when you're THEIR responsibility and I have a Strong hunch you didn't ask their permission before joining The Washouts. 18:44 which would include Scootaloo's aunts, who would not be pleased what their niece is doing without their permission. 20:03 this may be in character for Lightning, not thinking JUST how bad something so dangerous could end... BUT SHE'S WILLINGLY AND KNOWINGLY ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD FOR THRILLS! That's jail. No ifs, ands or buts. Jail! 20:25 yeah, Lightning. You try impeaching Scootaloo for bailing, you'll get a hard dose of reality when YOU'RE arrested for child endangerment. 21:08 and thus Scootaloo's aunts sue Lightning and The Washouts for heavily endangering their niece's life without consulting them in any way prior and Lightning loses everything in the lawsuit.
8:30 Someone else mentioned this, but Short Fuse looks like Firebrand 12:5013:28 I think Spitfire enjoys her job a little TOO much sometimes. 16:47 I hate to say it, but she looks pretty cool in that outfit. 19:47 Lighting Dust: 'You can call me whatever you want' Tprower: 'How about if I call you 'bitch'? Ooooohhhh! Lighting Dust, you just got burned! ;P 21:14 Looks like Lighting Dust is blasting off again! XD (Pretty sure I’m not the first one to make that joke)
1. I had to look that one up. I've never played Tails of Equestria 2. She did admit in Top Bolt that she loves yelling at the rookies, lol 3. Admittedly 4. There's worse names she could be called, but I've sworn never to use the more severe words... 5. Probably not, but it's very apt, lol
I have the same opinion that Scootaloo seems too young, even if she may be a teenager, to join any team like this. Regardless of whether she can fly or not (though I still wish that Scoot gets to fly someday).
Seeing this episode got me thinking that each of the CMCs were growing up to each of their sisters, Applebloom in Somepony to watch over me, Sweetie Belle in Forever Filly and now Scootaloo here.
My favorite parts of this episode were Spitfire’s rant to Scootaloo and karma hitting Lightning again when she is dragged away by her own rocket. Rainbow - 2 Lightning - 0
20:34 TPrower: Scoot, it’s not too late to back out! Scootaloo: Okay. Now I am thinking about backing out. Lightning Dust: Too late! I swear, no matter how many times I watch this it is always entertaining how perfectly that was timed.
After five seasons, the reckless Pegasus Lightning Dust has returned and I for one am kinda relieved because I thought she was gonna be one of those characters who wouldn't be revisited again. There were quite a few funny moments in this episode but, the one scene with Spitfire lecturing Scootaloo was the icing on the cake; it sure gave me a good laugh. It's funny, the situation between Rainbow and Scootaloo in this episode kinda reminds me of another in "Lady and the Tramp 2," where Scamp is choosing to live the dangerous life of a street dog with Buster and his junkyard gang instead of being in the safe company of his father(Tramp) and his family. In the end, Scootaloo realizes that she made a bad decision joining up with Lightning Dust and the Washouts just as Scamp learned from his mistake about hanging out with the wrong crowd. Another great episode with more bonding experiences with RD and Scoot all in all.
I'm wondering if Spitfire's rather vigorous focus on a full body wing and hoof cast (drinking through a straw) actually stems from personal experience. We've seen that as a filly she was steadily climbing the ranks of her young flyer league, a league that was dominated by the young and reckless Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust. I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to push herself beyond the limit to catch up and ended up that way. Having them to look up to at that age would explain why she never quite shook off that 'Best at all costs' mentality until Rainbow Falls too. On an unrelated note, now all we need is Suri Polomare and all the mane 6 rivals will have made a return.
I have a headcanon that, through her best at all costs mentality, she justified herself in knocking aside a rival in becoming a wonderbolt (even using Lightning Dust's "if they want to be wonderbolts" justification) resulting in said victim getting seriously messed up. Perhaps even in a full body wing and hoof cast DRINKING THROUGH A STRAW
Well, glad I've waited till Friday (for the video to be restored). Not only the next episode is the next morning, but I'm also turning 30 tomorrow. (1:02) I remember that Annie Wilkes smile. And it's still as creepy as four seasons ago. (1:32) Man. That color scheme and logos. That just scream 90s EXTREEEEEME trends. (3:09) Listen Scoots. I know Thembria's Flounder formation was extremely boring and unimpressive (like almost everything in Thembria), but still... (4:07) OK, that's the first bit of written English we've seen in the show so far. And again, that poster is so 90s it hurts. (5:41) I feel like the late Ultimate Warrior is gonna burst out of somewhere. (8:40) Man. He's Eddie Redmayning the crap out of his lines. (13:17) Spitfire, you're getting dangerously close to Ultimate Warrior levels of scenery chewing. (13:47) FILL OUT THE SPACESHIP WITH THE ROCKET FUEL! LOAD IT WITH THE WARRIORS!!!! (15:33) Well...there's a reason Monster Truck shows used to be popular (no idea if they still are). (16:26) Now allow me to continue SHOUTING AT RANDOM!!!!! (20:43) OK. At this point I'm not sure if Lightning Dust was really malicious, or just lethally stupid. We both know that she's an adrenaline junkie and can hold a grudge, so both works. (22:35) Wait until Rainbow Dash teaches you the art of the shit-eating grin. It'll go back to being weird. I have a feeling that the next time there's a scene in an hospital, we're gonna see a certain pegasus in a full body wing and hoof cast, DRINKING THROUGH A STRAW!!!! Can't believe I managed to squeeze a Tailspin reference. ... Daring Do vs. Klang. This HAS to be a thing! Only 10 hours until the next one. Can't wait.
So sorry to keep you waiting so long. 1. No kidding, lol. I don't even know what she was supposed to convey with that smile the first time, lol 2. *air guitar riff* 3. Truth be told, I haven't seen a ton of TaleSpin, but seeing Don Karnage cameo in the DuckTales reboot was fun. =) 4. 90's Dude: DUUUUUUDE, that poster is AWESOME! It's so in-your-face that even when you look away from it, you can NEVER UNSEE IT! 5. Skronking and talking about destrucity 6. I have yet to see Fantastic Beasts, unfortunately. 7. She loves her job, lol 8. If rockets ran on acting ham, there'd be enough coming from Spitsy to send one to the moon and back. 9. Never went to one, never watched a real one 10. Something tells me there was a lot of laughter in the recording studio, lol 11. Well, she does seem to be partially inspired to hit Dash where it hurts with Scootaloo joining, but she also never learns from her mistakes. 12. Definitely, lol 13. Wouldn't be surprised
And here some answers 6. I was mostly referring to his character in Jupiter Ascending (he'd constantly switch between an hoarse whisper and screaming at the top of his lungs). 11. I was thinking that she might've either intended Scootaloo to get hurt in order to hurt Rainbow Dash by proxy (malicious) or that she seriously thought that Scootaloo could pull off that stunt unscathed (lethally stupid). Either way could work with her. And, in case you didn't know (and I'm guessing since you said you haven't seen much Tailspin (I still need to watch the new Ducktales)), Klang was a one-shot villain from the two-parter "From Whom the Bell Klangs" (I still have the tape for this two-parter). He's the leader of a desert tribe who tries to find a lost city that contains a weapon of mass destruction and a young (and a fox, of course) archeologist named Katie Dodd teams up with Baloo and Louie to stop him. As for Klang himself, he's a cobra in a robe with metal limbs and a metal (and sharp) jaw, and he's voiced by Tim Curry (and he's one of the few antagonists to be played completely seriously). I want to see a fic of Daring Do going against this guy.
My Little Comment: Friendship is Reposting! This is one of those episodes that I appreciate more the more I see it. All the little hints that Scootaloo's expressions give, the key bits of dialogue... so much that's easily missable the first time through.
1. 1:30 Scootaloo: "...The Washouts Fan Club!" TPrower: "Excuse me?!" Ha! You sounded as indignant about that as Rainbow did. You reacted as if Fluttershy was the one being replaced! =D 2. 2:35 Scootaloo: "It's just that, maybe it's time for me to explore _other_ fandoms." There *are* no other fandoms! #Brony4life 3. 4:01 RD: "But what could the Washouts possibly have that _I_ don't?" You mean other than duller color schemes and less interesting personality quirks? 4. 6:00 "Leap before you look? That doesn't sound sensible at all." True, but then "sensible" is not a word one would ever associate Lightning Dust or her pals. 5. 6:34 "Waaaaait a minute. Those colors look familiar. Is that who I think it is?" If you were truly 100% blind going into this, that was very well spotted, sir! 6. 7:16 [Hang on, wasn't that short red pony in Top Bolt with Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail?] Omg, you're right! I completely missed that connection! 7. 8:12 Washout member: "Name's Rolling Thunder." As in the Thunder from Down Under! 8. 9:25 "Scootaloo, did you just completely forget all the research you did for your report on Rainbow Dash? You ought to know about Lightning Dust already!" I guess old Nick Confalone didn't do _his_ research this time. Oops! 9. 12:52 "Spitzy's in rare form today!" More like Chris Farley form! 10. 14:54 I was surprised that a clash of heads between Twilight and RD would sound that hollow. Twi's grey matter is so dense that I would have expected any collision with her cranium to be like smashing into a cement wall! 11. 16:20 Short Fuse: "I'M NOT SIGNING THAT ABOMINATION!!!" Now I want to hear M. A. Larson shouting that at the next convention. :D 12. 18:58 "If anything happens to Scootaloo, it's on _your_ head, Dust!" Actually, it'll be on her hoof. ;) 13. 21:16 "So long, Lightning Dust! Don't come back!" Until now, Svengallop was the pony I least wanted to see again. But Lightning Dust has just made a strong case for herself. 14. 22:24 "And look who's here! Hi, Bow and Windy!" If Rainbow Dash is the president of the Scootaloo Fan Club, then those two must be the vice-president and treasurer. 15. 27:19 "...but at the critical moment, RD swoops in and saves her, knowing that giving her space to live her life doesn't mean she can't still protect her when she needs it." Hmm, kind of like Clark Kent's relationship with Lois Lane.
I quite agree. =) 1. Which would really strike a nerve with me, lemme tell ya. 2. Pfft. 3. Along with a reckless disregard for their own lives 4. Too true... 5. Heh. Something just clicked when I saw that streaky tail and the color of those wings. 6. Always fascinating to see that kind of continuity 7. It always surprises me when an actor has characters who are total opposites. For Rhona Rees, she’s got the sweet, gentle, adorable Vapor Trail, and now the brash and bold Rolling Thunder. 8. Well, at least now Scoot has a clear idea about Dust and what she’s like. 9. Heheh. It’s funny: I have seen that skit, but it didn’t occur to me when I watched this. I can imagine Kelly Metzger having a hard time keeping a straight face, while everyone else was cracking up. XD 10. Not to mention the fact that she has a horn, which would really hurt to get hit with. 11. Pfft. 12. No less than she deserved. Taste of her own medicine 13. Well, they’ve both got the remainder of this season and the next one to potentially come back, so we’ll just have to see. 14. I can totally see that happening. =) 15. They started their bond as sisters with Dash saving Scootaloo’s life from a waterfall, and now she’s done the same from a rocket scooter. Scoot’s lucky to have such a loyal big sister.
Technically, 1 of the official MLP story books confirms Scootaloo lives with her Lesbian aunts because her parents are always away working and unless the show contradicts that, it's considered canon
My two biggest issues with this episode. 1. Rolling Thunder claimed to injure her leg in the Crushinator Jaws of Smashalot (patent pending), when clearly it was Lightning Dust that got caught. 2. Why are Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom not part of the Scootaloo fan club? I mean even Snips and Snails are there.
Scootaloo looked cool as a Washout. I wonder if she'll keep the outfit ? In Scare Master she dressed as a Wonderbolt. If there's going to be a Nightmare night episode she could dress as a Washout couldn't she ? And Short Fuse appeared in Top Bolt. Looks like he got kicked out from the acedamy. Maybe because of his short temper ? Rainbow Dash feared for Scootaloo's safety and for good reason. But Scootaloo had to experience the danger on her own skin. According to an old saying : Young hearts cannot be dissuaded from adventurousness by a few warning words. I think we haven't seen the last of Lightning Dust and the Washouts. And I saw Gallus, Silver Stream and Smolder at the audience. How would they look like as Washouts ? I think Thunderlane would act the same way as Rainbow Dash if he finds out that his little brother Rumble joined the Washouts. And what if the Wonderbolt members decide to quit and join the Washouts ? A Wonderbolts vs Washouts episode would be great. And if the Washouts make another appearance maybe we'll see Wind Rider as a Washout ? I hope so. Also according to mlp fanfiction and deviantart the Shadowbolts are ex-Wonderbolt members. And how would Spitfire react if she finds out that her mother Stormy Flare joined the Washouts ?
Upon reading the synopsis a while back, I sure as heck was NOT expecting Lighting Dust to be in this one. Also, don't call Twily disloyal when Dash herself had to learn to not keep Scootaloo from liking The Washouts. X3 Granted their leader stooped low enough to put a child in danger... This was defs one of Dash's best episodes, hands down. We know she never meant to make Scootaloo feel less than a pegasus that can fly. Another fine commentary, friend. /)
(\ Thanks. I know Twi didn't mean any harm, but it just felt like rubbing salt in Dash's wounds. But yeah, this was a fantastic episode for Dash and Scoot both.
T you do know that firebrand has a TH-cam channel called fob equestria and a member of the bronalist community and isn't just any bronalist he has the most experiences in the military
“DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?!?” Spitfire, you couldn’t make yourself clearer if you turned invisible. I had never heard of Matt Foley before I saw this, so I thought Spitfire was doing an over-the-top drill sergeant routine. I know I’m not alone in that. You really have to know just the right buttons to push to consistently get that much laughter from such a hammy performance. (And you have to be able to pull it off without shredding your vocal cords….) I think this is one of those “just here for” episodes. It is for me, because this is one of those episodes that, while good in concept, just fails in execution for me. I just was unable to sympathize with Scootaloo here like I knew I was supposed to, and like I have done elsewhere, like in “The Fault in Our Cutie Marks”, or “Parental Glidance”.
Tbh I didn't approve of some of the things you were saying at first. One is allowed to have multiple fan clubs, idols, and people to look up to. Scootaloo had all rights to like the Washouts and think they are cool, evrn if she did start to dislike the Wonderbolts. Free will and freedom of choice is a thing. She's not bad for liking a different thing or wanting to do something else. I just needed to say that cause I really didn't like what you were saying to and about Scoot at first. I mean it's like saying someone can't stop liking Katy perry and can't start to like Kesha more.
I get what you're saying, and that was never my intention. I was just blindsided by Scoot showing so much enthusiasm for the Washouts and completely skating over the Rainbow Dash Club like it was nothing.
Given Spitfire here was obviously and hilariously based on Chris Farley's snl Matt Foley persona in both in her speech and demeanor Scootaloo should have said to her I want to be in a wing and hoof cast living down by the river. th-cam.com/video/Xv2VIEY9-A8/w-d-xo.html
This is a great episode
I love that moment with spitfire
20:44-There's Yona and Ocelus. Too bad Sandbar wasn't present.

8:30 Someone else mentioned this, but Short Fuse looks like Firebrand
12:50 13:28 I think Spitfire enjoys her job a little TOO much sometimes.
16:47 I hate to say it, but she looks pretty cool in that outfit.
19:47 Lighting Dust: 'You can call me whatever you want'
Tprower: 'How about if I call you 'bitch'?
Ooooohhhh! Lighting Dust, you just got burned! ;P
21:14 Looks like Lighting Dust is blasting off again! XD (Pretty sure I’m not the first one to make that joke)
1. I had to look that one up. I've never played Tails of Equestria

3. Admittedly

Where did you look up firebrand tv tropes

Actually, it's just CMC. Crusaders already has an 's' at the end implying a plural. But you do still make a good point. ^_^

Wow. I remember Lady and the Tramp 2, but never made that connection until you brought it up. It totally fits!
TPrower Yeah, it took me a couple of rewatches til that parallel came to mind.
9:06 - I'm honestly surprised you didn't say "Spongebob!" when Scoots butted in. :p

My Little Comment: Friendship is Reposting!
This is one of those episodes that I appreciate more the more I see it.
All the little hints that Scootaloo's expressions give, the key bits of

XD
10. Not to mention the fact that she has a horn, which would really hurt to get hit with.
11. Pfft.
12. No less than she deserved. Taste of her own medicine
13. Well, they’ve both got the remainder of this season and the next one to potentially come back, so we’ll just have to see.
14. I can totally see that happening. =)
15. They started their bond as sisters with Dash saving Scootaloo’s life from a waterfall, and now she’s done the same from a rocket scooter. Scoot’s lucky to have such a loyal big sister.
At this point, I expect 2 things to happen for Scoots before the finale.
1. She finally flies
2. Her family is revealed or Dash adopts her.

Thanks.
I want a episode where the ponies just explore the inside of pinkie's mane.
“DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?!?”
Spitfire, you couldn’t make yourself clearer if you turned invisible.
I had never heard of Matt Foley before I saw this, so I thought Spitfire was doing an over-the-top drill sergeant routine. I know I’m not alone in that.
You really have to know just the right buttons to push to consistently get that much laughter from such a hammy performance. (And you have to be able to pull it off without shredding your vocal cords….)
I think this is one of those “just here for” episodes.
1:51 rainbow sister with her never knew.
crusade time
Tbh I didn't approve of some of the things you were saying at first.
TPrower That's fair, I understand, she did rush over it. But eh, yknow, teens, am I right? lol
18:59 I wouldn’t say it better myself.
7:35 she not a sister argh
Given Spitfire here was obviously and hilariously based on Chris Farley's snl Matt Foley persona in both in her speech and demeanor Scootaloo should have said to her I want to be in a wing and hoof cast living down by the river. th-cam.com/video/Xv2VIEY9-A8/w-d-xo.html

He all most killed Scottloo
Rainbow - is a girl and Lightning Dust is a girl
Think dash not her sister. Dash just an over protecting sister. But she fount as family to me. Like Ms cake may not be pie family but she kind of ish.
There not sister
Not biologically, no, but they're as good as in spirit. =)
