As for why the tribes split up which wasn't really told, I can think of three villains that could have had a helping hand. they get out of their statue prison and with no mane six to stop them, they try a combination of two schemes they did before. First they get rid of magic and then divide the tribes, now where are they? Maybe the series will show. Now for the alicorn stone(the three stones together) maybe twilight or one of the other alicorns knew that they might try something like getting rid of magic and created the stone as an emergency supply if they do.
19:42 "Sprout, who has now declared himself emperor of Maretime Bay..." Emperor? The last MLP villain we heard use that title was Grogar, who "declared himself emperor of all he saw", according to Tirek, and that was back in pre-Equestrian times.
Makes you wonder what villains like him are considered in this more modern Equestria, since even in G4, Grogar’s battle against Gusty was considered a legend.

True, and Phyllis isn't blameless in this, either. She's been more or less influencing the way the Earth ponies of Maretime Bay should be thinking about the other ponies, and passed that bigotry onto Sprout. Sure, she realized her error by the end, but she still kickstarted these events by encouraging Sprout.
This movie definitely has me hyped for the new show next year. I think it has the potential to be just as good as G4. It was a great introduction to the new characters and has so much lore to build on.
I think Sunny's transparent horn and wings are temporary, sure. but, I also think it shows that Sunny has the potential to earn them and become a full and real alicorn. someday.
I saw the movie on Netflix and I loved it. My favorite characters are Sunny, Izzy, Hitch, Pipp and Zipp. Sprout was a bit a jerk, but that’s only because his mother influenced him, much in the way Spoiled Rich influenced Diamond Tiara. Looking forward to the series.

To be honest, I don't actually see them explaining what happened to the ponies, and I don't really think they should. If I were making a distant sequel/reboot of something, I'd want to look to the future and not getting stuck in the past, no matter how precious it was to me.
I think Sprouts mom is gonna be keeping him in check during the tv series, at least until he’s trustworthy, she’s definitely gotta be at least a little guilty about giving her son the power in the first place.
I only have one remark and it's a baseball term. It's called a grand slam home run. Its movie has loaded the bases in every possible way and still hit out of the park and deep,deep into many, many g4 brony hearts. Mine included. I can only hope and pray. The new g5 series Season One can do as well as this movie. I know 6 months is along time to wait. But g4 had season breaks that lasted longer. We have survived long season breaks and we will survive this hoof to heart. Be safe and be well one and all.

The main takeaway: ❤ *_They're so fluffy, I'm gonna DIE!_* ❤ Your comparison between Pipp and Rarity is apt for another reason: When G4 began, several commenters pointed out that _in any other show_ Rarity would have been cast as a _villain_ or at least an unsympathetic antagonist - but Lauren Faust wanted to make it clear that, no, being into all the trappings of traditional femininity is _not_ a "character flaw", and people like that can be every bit as strong, warm, and capable as those who have the clichéd "heroic" character traits. Pipp, the instagramming, live-streaming "influencer" type, is in exactly the same position nowadays; _Any other show_ would portray her as useless and shallow at best, or even a villain "doing anything for the Likes" at worst. Showing her as a wonderful, warm pony, who sincerely loves to entertain and has a knack for inspiring and firing up others (as in the dance challenge scene) is a welcome breath of fresh air.
That's certainly true. Rarity and Pipp are both ponies that some people worried would be shallow and boring due to initial impressions, but who nicely surprised us as we started to get to know them. =)

At the very least, it’s to be hoped he’s tasked with rebuilding the lighthouse.
Well looking at wiki on where these places are on the map. Maretime Bay is close to Blatimare city. Zeypher Heights is right above Canterlot or the futrue of Canterlot. Bridlewood is close to Tall Tail.
My first impression on A New Generation was just the way I expected it. I enjoyed every moment of it from the new cast of pony characters (Izzy being my favorite), the animation, visuals, and especially the songs (“Danger, Danger” and “Fit Right In” being the most memorable to me)! My favorite scene was the beginning, seeing our favorite group of ponies from Gen 4 again. That was a great way to start off the story imo. Harkening to the previous era and kicking things off with the new. I do have some lingering questions on the film though like the distrust of the pony tribes rising up again. What became of the Windigos and why aren’t they covering the land in ice and snow? And when did those three tribe crystals come into play between Ancient Equestria and Modern Equestria? In any case, I hope we get some clarification on these questions in the future. Overall, A New Generation is a fun filled pony flick, definitely worth the watch!
The movie wasn't too bad it's just the pace was a little bit too fast and it wasn't enough interaction with the other characters and basically there was so many questions of what happened to Equestria and what happened to the creatures and what about the cities but from what I heard they said they are going to continue on with this generation 5 maybe some of the answers will show up in the show Maybe but other than that it was an okay movie and I give it a 7 out of 10

One of the things I keep thinking about is how Zipp's full name is Zephyrina and that probably means Pipp is a nickname too. I just can't think of any ideas though.

I hope we never get another CMC. That was incredibly stupid to begin with, and one generation worth of them was more than we needed. I also hope NONE of the Mane 5 are related to any of the Mane 6 as not only does that make them less special, but it's gonna look like G5 can't stand on its own without bringing up G4 so much.

And odd question just can you call this mlp know we call of show short version this just not seen like should have short name!
I'm glad you liked it, but it infuriated me. It has no real continuity to G4 despite wanting to be a sequel, and I feel the anti-bigotry message means nothing when you had to turn an incredibly open and diverse country into something just this side of genocide. Not to mention they still didn't answer WHY the world changed so much and seemed to genuinely forget about the changelings, yaks, dragons, hippogriffs/sea ponies, and griffons. Honestly I might have enjoyed it more if it accepted itself as it's own thing like how every generation does, but trying to make it a sequel just shot itself in the face for me.
Those undertones were prevalent throughout g4, just not as noticeable until episode 9 of season one and season 8/9. Those are when they were brought to light. Also i have a theory as to why everypony forgot why magic disappeared. The memory stone from forgotten friendship is seen in the movie and if used by an unknown villain in the past it would make sense

From what I can see, Cloverleaf is Sprout's last name as well. They just never said it within the movie itself.
