2:12 "And Izzy helps Sunny realize she can't please everybody." A nice reversal of the first regular-length episode from the second chapter, Izzy Does It, in which Sunny was the one who gave helpful advice to Izzy.
5:58 "And they cap off the night with an awesome dance routine!" Just being reminded of that scene makes me want to go watch it again, as soon as I'm done watching this review.
It IS pretty amazing, and it shows Sunny had nothing to worry about, if they all immediately got into the groove with little rehearsal time, even Misty, who would've been even less prepared.
13:03 "Will we see any familiar faces among these dragons she mentioned?" That depends on whether these "other dragons" awakening are all coming out of eggs, like Sparky, or if some of them might have been around for much longer, and were simply hibernating. That smoky figure Opaline was producing sure seemed to imply the latter, though...
And it wasn't even a dragon being dropped then, but somepony (Rarity) being 'dropped' BY a dragon (Spike). In all seriousness, as if Opaline couldn't get more loathsome, but here she is, willing to kill a child when she has no more use for him. I shudder to imagine if she would ever entertain such thoughts if Misty was no longer useful to her...
6:48 "Episode six: A Little Horse! They knew what they were doing when they titled this episode." As much as the writing staff of g4 loved their puns, I was surprised we hadn't already gotten an episode title like this in Friendship is Magic.
@@Narrator007 I think, they were contemplating both puns, but decided, the horse one was easier to do in-episode. Like, how would the characters make a milli vanilly reference in-universe?
9:19 "Misty's guilt is only worsened by seeing the state Sparky's in from being drained, and hearing that Opaline intends to *drop* him into the sea when she's done with him!" She can't do that! We already used "Dragon Dropped" for an episode in the last season of g4! XP
And it wasn't even a dragon being dropped, then, but somepony (Rarity) being 'dropped', so to speak, BY a dragon (Spike). Still, as if Opaline couldn't get any more loathsome...
It wouldn't surprise me. With Zipp next in line as future queen, that likely also comes with the addition of finding a suitor for her, which will lead to future heirs to the throne.
4:10 "Sunny and a camera-shy Hitch try to run a cooking show live from Canterlove Studios, resulting in an adorably hilarious food fight, which seems to do well for their ratings." A little drama always helps raise that viewer count!
Plus, it's a nice way of reminding us of how, despite their ideological differences growing up (Hitch siding more with Sprout about how unicorns and pegasi were their enemies), Sunny and Hitch were still good friends growing up, if their food fights were like this. =)
9:59 "She not only regains their trust, but finally earns her cutie mark! Better yet, it matches the fake one she put on for her disguise!" It's almost as if Misty knew, deep down inside, what it should look like, despite not being able to see it.
2:34 "The place is now Canterlove Studios, where ponies can come together to make whatever content they want!" With a studio name like that, you might want to be careful how you phrase what they do there. ;)
3:23 "At least Applejack still won ribbons at the Canterlot rodeo, even if none of them were blue." The only thing that was blue there, was AJ herself. :P
Poor Jackie. I still can't help but wonder what went wrong for her to not win even one 1st Place ribbon. Is the implication simply that she's a champion rodeo star in Ponyville, but there'll always be even better ones than her in other parts of Equestria?
@@TPrower To me, the real implication was in the opening scene, when AJ tapped her leg on the top bar while clearing a hurdle in slow motion. That foreshadowed her being good, but not quite good enough to compete with the very best.
The fact Sprout shows he doesn’t feel remorse for destroying Sunny's home almost makes me ignore the fact Sunny basically just stole his family's property for her own ends and didn’t care when he pointed out that, legally, the building still belongs to his family. Almost. It's frustrating when the prognost is clearly not caring about the law and just doing their own thing, but they're doing to a despised character so you don't want to side with the other side either. As for the fight between Opaline and Sunny, it's alright, I guess. But, if someone asked me whether, without any bias, I prefer watching Opaline vs Sunny or Twilight vs Starlight/Tirek, I think it's pretty obvious which fight is more fun to watch. There's just any emptiness to Opaline vs Sunny. It didn’t feel... investing to me, I guess. It gets even more weird as I definitely felt the investment in Opaline vs Sunny in the Tell Your Tale version of the fight. It felt like movement and hits actually meant something in Tell Your Tale's version of the fight that the Make Your Mark version just lacks for me. In fact, the only way I find investment in the Make Your Mark version is the video that combined the two and used the Sonic Frontier background music for the fight. That version makes the Make Your Mark version feel more powerful due to the translation, extending the flow and just making it feel like the protagonist vs villain fight it's supposed to be. As for what's coming up in Chapter 5? The fact they're bringing back something from G4 but changing it again seriously irritates me. Either make your own thing or leave G4 alone and stop retconing it at the same time, G5!
@@J0RD4N971 I'm not sure if that's true, but perhaps if it got condemned for being left abandoned in a state of disrepair, the city might have repossessed it. Hitch *_did_* mention that flying rat infestation in the building was against code, at the least.
