He's handling himself way better than Godefroy the Fearless (from Les Visiteurs, a French comedy about a 12th century knight and his servant getting thrown in France 1993). There are certainly missed opportunities with this episode-you mentioned the lack of Apple Bloom-but there’s one which should have been obvious, but wasn’t (not even to me until I thought about it just now): Why didn’t Rockhoof visit Stygian? Aside from the fact that I would have liked to see him again, Rockhoof now knows that Stygian only wanted his friends’ respect, and it would have been nice to see some followup on that. But most especially, Stygian is telling stories about his experiences-just through books, rather than orally. That would have been a great way to inspire Rockhoof! Maybe he could have dismissed it at first because he wasn’t good at writing, or he got too enthusiastic for the scribe he was dictating to, and so missed the possibility that he could just tell stories orally.
I was SO not expecting this episode to take a dark turn. But that's what I like about it. It reaches deep and talks about things that NEED to be talked about. Even if it's hard. And to have it feature Rockhoof, who up until now was perhaps the most underrated Pillar as well as Yona be the one to help pull him out of a jam. Bonus points! Always good to hear your take on it, and I look forward to hearing about the rest of the season from your POV with a fresh eye. /)
9:24 huh. I see you got your old wig back, Cranky. But what was wrong with the one Steven Magnet gave you? 11:01 yeah, and with Flash Magnus as the new Drill Sergeant of the Canterlot Royal Guard, maybe now they won't suck. Firebrand/Josh Scorcher will be very impressed. 16:05 oh, come on, Sea Spray. It was an single, small, honest mistake. It's not so big you need to fire Rockhoof right away. You are now my least favorite Hippogryff for that. 17:25 I don't think Rockhoof understands. It sounds like he thinks If he's turned to stone, it'll be like falling alseep (though considering everyone keeps calling it Stone "Sleep", I can understand his misunderstanding), but he'll still be conscious of everything around him. Discord was and I don't think it was just because he's the Lord of Chaos. I think being frozen in stone but still fully aware of everything around you would be even worse than not fitting in. 21:49 frankly, it's about time Twilight started using her power as a princess. She's been one for 5 seasons now and not been given a chance like the other princesses. Plus, it's not like her proclamations are too risky. Even they are kinda small compared to what Celestia, Luna and Cadance do. You go, Book Princess.
You know, if there ever came a time where it turned out that the Young 6 were the next elements of harmony, I could pretty easily see Yona as the element of kindness after this. Not sure about any of the others just yet though, except maybe Silverstream as the element of laughter.
For some time, I’ve wondered if one(if not all) the Pillars would be having trouble in Modern Equestria and Rockhoof was the unfortunate pony to fall in that category. It’s a real shame he couldn’t stay in his homeland. Good thing there were those that care enough to help Rockhoof in his times of need. I think it’s sweet that Yona has somepony she can look up to in Rockhoof. It’s great to know that the other Pillars and Stygian are getting along just fine with their lives in the modern world and I was happy to see them again(especially Somnambula). In short, this episode was fun and interesting in my opinion.
i have a question: since Rockhoof is now bigger & has a different overall physic, does that mean he is now technically a horse, or is he still considered a pony?
3:53 A crush on the teacher is something a lot of kids go through, but I just hope the fans don’t go over the top with it and their shipping. 11:10 Magnus was one of my favorite Pillars. I bet if anyone can whip the Royal Guard into shape it is him. Also, I hope he interacts with Flash Sentry someday, since I believe he and Magnus are related. 12:17 And it is pretty sexy too. 20:04 It is cute how she went to the trouble of getting a trowel for herself to mimic Rockhoof’s shovel 27:28 Yeah it was! Plus before they get to the Buu saga they said they will do an epilogue for Trunks destroying the androids and Cell in his future and the Bojack movie abridged. It is going to be epic.

Have any of them stated a particular reason why?

Pinky Pie could have gotten Rockhoof a job at the rockfarm. The character interaction between Limestone and Rockhoof would have been interesting

I don't know. Trouble Shoes is the same way
I thought rockhoof was awesome he was very strong not just in body but had a stallion's spirit

Dude, when has that NOT happened?
I don't ship them romantically, but I _do_ ship them platonically as an honorary uncle/niece sort of thing. Like Rockhoof taking Yona under his wing.
So...the comment I made yesterday is gone? What the hell?
Oh. I'm too tired and sick to do a full comment, let alone two. I'll just do them tomorrow.
I'm so sorry. I can't explain how that could've happened.
