    Can't see the reset buttons in your video but we easily found both of ours "out" and pushed them in and wala, all good again. Thanks.

    just a quick thank you... currently quarantining in my travel trailer in front of my house to keep the virus away from my family and didn't have hot water for two days. I watched this video and blamo! Hot showers are back. Thanks so much. Subscribed and I'll do my best to frequent your online business.

    Thank you on your video about RV water heaters. I didn't have an instruction manual. Your video specs about the by-pass valve inside the trailer was what I was missing to get hot water. I now can take a shower and wash my dishes.

    You are a such a nice, generous man. So, soooo many would NEVER just give out Free information. Though my spouse just left me after 30 yrs, he NEVER fixed Anything in our RV. I'm assuming he knew he was leaving, Everything just about broken now. I still 100% appreciate this information from you.

    Thanks for this video! New camper owner and I had my camper professionally winterized last year. Had no idea there were valves going to my hot water heater and I was wondering why the heck I couldn’t get my hot water to work! And then I was confused by the middle valve that allows water to circulate. You covered literally everything I needed to know!

    Thanks to folks like you I fixed my RV water heater for no cost. Our water heater began shutting off 3 seconds after lighting. Control board was damaged. Finding the board on top of the water heater behind the kitchen drawers was the hardest part. Q3 was burned out. MPSA29. NPN Darlington pair. I had several Motorola equivalents in my spare parts for 30 years. MPSA14. Burned transistor replaced, burned trace patched with a piece of wire, put a heat sink on it for good measure, and all is well. Why they didn't put a heat sink on the part that controls the spark ignition in the first place who knows? Planned failure is how it looks to me .

    Mine heats cold water ...not hot.
    So its just a water heater.
    Anyway, its making a lot of condensation.
    Tips to reduce that?

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, nice catch Jimmy!
      Condensation will form naturally on the water heater depending on how cold and humid it is where you are camping. If you notice your water pump surging or having unusual amounts of condensation on that part, we would recommend getting your water heater serviced. If you have any other questions, leave us a comment on this thread or give us a call at 970-313-4337.

    Good day and Happy Thanksgiving! I live full-time in my 1987 Mallard sprinter RV. The first couple of years I had the heater and it works great then I lived in a very remote area and they would not deliver gas to us.a neighbor brought this adapter that had a pressure thing on it and then loaned us a small propane gas container. But unfortunatelythe gas did not make it into the house for the stove or to heat the water in the shower I have since done nothing about it. During the summer months the sun's heat warms my hose and so we're good.the winter months are coming and I would really like to figure out what the problem is but I cannot afford a mobile mechanic and the RV is not running.I'd be immensely grateful for your guidance since I'm going to have to troubleshoot this myself.thank you!!

    • @amyharvey2478

      release the pressure valve just for a second. If water comes out, it's full!

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Anthony, Thank you for your comment. Amy Harvey is correct, just pull the check valve to see if water comes out. To Fill you tank is tricky unless I see your setup but here's the best guess - 1. Make sure your by pass valves behind you water heater are set for summer. You do that by closing the middle one and opeing the end ones. Valves paraellel are open 2. Fill your fresh water tank and turn on your water pump. You can also hookup to your city water connection and turn on the water for water pressure.

    Last month, we bought a new Coachmen Clipper with a We have a Suburban, Airxcel, Inc. SW6DP Direct Spark Ignition. We took it out for a 3 day stay in an RV park and the hot water worked fine.
    I took a 2 month volunteer camp host job 4 hours away on the Coast. And now the hot water will not work! The DSI FLT red light flickers on and off.
    We turned the propane take on, full blast. We ran the water out of the tap. It did not warm up.
    We found the reset button. Pushed it. No change. The reset button had NOT popped out, so that was not the problem.

    • @asphaltadventurer
      @asphaltadventurer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if your tank was empty and you just connected to city water, open your hot water faucet on the sink until water comes out. It obviously won't be hot, but you will know there is water in there so you don't burn out the element. Do this BEFORE you turn on the electric heating element.

      It's actually the burner tube that you would blow out - not the gas line. You do that with a air hose. If you don't have one, you could grab a can of compressed air too. Thanks for the question.

    My electric side of the water heater wasn't working when we bought our new travel trailer. Propane was fine but not electric. We have a Forest River tt so we went to the local dealer and he gave me a great tip. He told me to check the fuse and make sure the heating element was actually plugged in. So I went home and checked under the cabinet where the water heater is located and sure enough,it wasn't. These manufacturers slap these trailers together so fast they overlooked it 😡 problem solved

    • @HP.Customs
      @HP.Customs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Kosciusko locate the water lines that come out of your hot water heater then follow them and you will find the valves. The lines will eventually have T fittings that make the lines connect and that is for bypass the valves should be right at that point or very close.

    Thx but dude, it's a "water heater". It heats cold water and makes hot water. Also, it's pronounced "ah-node rod"- not "anoid". The valve with the lever you trip is a TPR or temperature/ pressure relief valve. It helps to speak professionally. Just sayin'
