• don’t shout out to your friend in the middle of the hallway • never block the hallways (if you’re going to walk slow don’t be in the middle) • take AP and duel enrollment classes (dual enrollment is good for over the summer) • online courses are your friend • never do the bare minimum (ex. take 4 years of math/science, and at least 3+ years of language) - colleges love this • do extra-curricular like sports and clubs to meet new people • take classes that relate to either your interests and potential future jobs • nobody cares what you wear and nobody notices/cares if you wear the same shirt or something twice • getting a B or missing a homework assignment isn’t the end of the world... in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal • ask for extra credit or help in class if you are struggling • enjoy highschool, you only have 4 years. make some friends, talk to those people next to you, try new sports/clubs, go out with friends, live life.
;Aesthetically Emily; : omg same I went to a relatives bday party (they were all 10ish) and they made everyone line up for a picture and *dab*... including me 😂 and this was in 2019 (March?) when dabbing was already dead 😐
Top tips I received: 1:Dont "try to look cool" and make a scene of yourself, it will set your bars low. 2: If your going to copy something(papers or sum) then put it out of order, and change a lot of words. 3:Dont be mean to look tuff 4:Do what you want, and what you like, not your friends. 5:Make at least one friend, and if you cant, then talk to someone who looks like they also cant. 6: this tip is for making friends. To make friends, just while partner activities, ask to be with them, then you have to socialize. 7:For the love of god don't date seniors 8: Dont lisen to random elders. 9:Have fun and dont think "I will look stupid" or "What if" 10: set goals for the year/term 11:dont be a wuss. 12: DO NOT do drugs Edit: 100+ likes thank yall
Rando Bob LMAOOO DONT DATE SENIORS💀oh n alsoooo what do you do if you wanna find all your classes easy like do I ask ppl or do I just try to find it my self?
@@katiequispe8454 You can try or attempt to find it yourself, but if you dont have a friend to find it with ask the upper grades, like they arent gonna be like "Ew" its just as if the lower grade asked you, they will help you to skip their class lol
Freshmen 1: wear deodorant and take showers daily 2: don't run in the halls or stand in the middle of the hallway 3: You can talk to upperclassmen and ask questions but don't be overly bearing, it's annoying. 4: HS isn't that bad if you pay attention in class and aren't trying to hard or be cool or whatever. 5: Try to make friends on the first day. If you have a couple good friends throughout high school you'll have a great experience. Good Luck Freshies! edit: thanks for all the feedback guys! the take showers daily was kinda just telling people to shower. you have no idea how many people i’ve sat behind in class and smell like b.o. please just wear deodorant. and lots of people are nervous on their first day so don’t be afraid to talk to people. Hope you have an awesome first year! p.s. it goes by so fast. i’m already done with high school and i’m going to college next semester 💕💕💕
1. Take at least 1 AP class every year to boost your GPA 2. Do your homework 3. Don’t walk slowly and don’t stand in the middle of the hallway 4. Take at least 1 class that you love (for me it was chorus) 5. Go to every dance your school offers to make some good memories 6. Ask that guy/girl out 7. And lastly, have fun and don’t stress too much, high school doesn’t last forever.
1. Don't juul, especially in the bathroom, it's annoying (plus it's a huge expense you cannot afford) 2. DON'T SKIP CLASS, you are going to regret it, trust me 3. Become friends with your teachers! They exist to help and nine times outta ten they have a sense of humor 4. Get to know upperclassmen. They're not as scary as you think. They love to help you out, and if you're lucky they might take you to lunch and give you some more advice (NOTE: usually it's not a good idea to date them either if you're a freshman or sophomore) 5. Take some challenging classes even if you don't feel like it. I promise when college comes, those classes will have been worth it 6. If you can, do your homework in class or during lunch so that you can have a life after school. The sooner the better, I promise That's it, hope this helps💕
esme anderson bc they think it’s cool, when in reality, hanging out in a dirty middle school bathroom during lunch and juuling is honestly just pathetic. They then brag about it afterwards and I overhear them in class.
i’m terrified for next year. i’m gonna be a freshman and i have really bad anxiety so idk what’s gonna happen. my school is literally 7 different buildings and i know i’m gonna get lost :(
I’m going to be a sophomore next year! Last year I was scared to death for school! My school is massive like yours! I had an upperclassman walk me through the school multiple times so I knew where my classes were and by the end of the year I thought my school was super tiny!!! Don’t worry it will all work out in the end! Also don’t be afraid to ask anyone for help!!! And it’s the first week teachers won’t care if your late!!!
girl wyd My high school literally was like a castle. I’m switching to a smaller one for this year. My advice is to just try and not be so worried, if you get lost the first couple of days your teachers will understand and more than likely not even mark you as tardy. High school can be a living hell but just go with the flow and be yourself. It’ll be okay :)
Honeeeeey freshman year isn't scaryyy❤️❤️ the first day may seem scary but take this advice: TALK TO NICE PEOPLE. you will become friends and everything will be easier.
@@mariaskorchelletti8925 same for mee. this last week before school i was soo scared of going back. I loved going to school but then i got social anxiety and it all changed
The most important thing u need when you go to high skool, is earphones/headphones. It blocks out all the fake people, makes you feel good, and it understands you. You concetrate more and it makes you feel like its just you in the world and everyone is not there
This comment section is loaded of freshman but the question is.....is there any 8th graders here?!?!( You gotta know this stuff the second I walk into the door on the first day you know what I mean? No?....ok) bye awesome human!☺
Emily G I’m in eighth grade and I’m so scared about high school. I’m probably going to get lost and have another panic attack... but at least all of my friends in my middle school are all going to the same high school as me, even everyone in our giant friend group.
Emma Nuella I was scared when I started too but trust me after a while it’s not that bad just try to stay out of drama and just a tip, try to do homework at school like maybe at lunch or in classes when you have time
Sarah H I remember having tiny hallways and groups of like 6 girls (not being sexist, literally 90% of the time it was all women. Just a statistical fact) taking up the entire hallway then giving u looks if u accidentally run into them
I'm going into high school next year but just from middle school I can tell you that I I freaking hate it when they're just people standing in the middle of the hallway socializing like I like to get to my locker grab my stuff and get to my class I found that if you get to class earlier it's better than walking in last minute cuz you already kind of are set up and ready to go while other people are still trying to pull out their stuff also me and my best friend are literally afraid to socialize with anyone that isn't in the 9th grade
Starting sophmore year this year... I’m gonna die... Core classes I’m taking: Pre AP Chem AP Chem WHAP Pre AP English 2 Pre calculus/college algebra And most importantly... Band
Lauren. I want to get into an IVY league school hopefully but unlikely Soooo more realistically I want to go to UT Austin but I need a scholarship cause of the cost Also that’s what my mom tells me too rip 😂
hey :) i just took WHAP and thought you’d like to know a lil something... it’s a pretty large amount of work/info, but as long as you do your assignments and remember essay formats, you’re pretty much set. also, i’d suggest studying a decent amount, but spread it out over many days. i have a really good memory, so i didn’t study much (barely at all) with the exception of the day before the actual AP test. also, john green’s Crash Course videos on TH-cam are the best, as well as study sets on quizlet. last but not least... DONT PROCRASTINATE! trust me, you’ll reach a point of stressed-out-edness that you’ll kinda want to die. good luck! 💕
Edgar Ortiz DONT. i know it sounds bad but kissing your teachers asses and pretending u care or showing you care makes them like you a lot and keeps ur grades up
KK Nottingham brooo I’m gonna be a sophomore now and freshman year was fun actually. High school is way better than middle school. I made a couple new friends this year and it was great. Except for the virus and stuff.
Idk why I keep watching these videos, I'm going to be a senior this year. But I mean, good luck to all you freshmen, high schools not as scary as you think. Remember to do your homework, get along with your teachers (when your teacher likes you they're a lot more lenient with your grade), and don't share your food.
i really needed this, i am starting my first year of high school in a month, and i am kind of nervous. i know you said not to thank you, but thank you anyways :)
im less nervous, because i have a cousin who is going to be a senior at the same school, so i have a little bit of an advantage, but im still really nervous :/
Peyton Self Yes girl, befriend upperclassmen. They can give you all the advice you need about high school. As long as you're not one of those entitled freshman, they won't hate you. The whole freshman bullying thing isn't true. The Seniors are too busy with colleges to even take time to bully underclassmen, Juniors are too busy with AP classes, Sophomores are likely to befriend freshman. I cried watching my senior friend's graduate, that's how close I became with them. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me!
Peyton Self I can't say much about AP because my school didn't allow freshman to take them, however I did take honors classes. Taking AP classes are good because even if you don't pass the exam, you have experience to better yourself in the future. Also colleges would rather see that you tested yourself and tried hard by taking difficult classes. My advice is study your notes throughly, and everyday for as long as you can (whether that's 15min or 2hrs). If you feel yourself getting distracted, take a quick break. Don't overwork yourself and know your limits. Also if your teacher gives you an optional study guide *use it* . I once saw an AP Bio teacher give her class and optional study guide, then she told them that they can use whatever they wrote down for the test.
Unfortunately, in my country, you don't get to choose classes. They don't care about student needs, so yeah, they just put everyone in the same class even though not everyone is equally good in a subject, nor does everyone learn in the same rate.
In my town high schools are either 3 years or 4 years. If you go to high school which is 4 years you can go to college. You can’t exactly chose how much years you will go to, it matters of score you get on “exam” for high school. Wish me luck to go to 4 year high school.
I’m gonna be a senior but I still wanted to watch this vid. But it’s great advice y’all should listen. Don’t listen to upperclassmen about class selections! Pick what you want to do!
#5 was sooo true. most grades come from homework assignments or tests and if you forget to turn in homework and your grade goes down, that doesn’t mean you’re an idiot. just means you’re irresponsible. like me.
Im a junior this year and honestly high school isn't anything like the movies or anything like you'd expect. Don't be nervous and I know its hard not to but trust me when I say that in no time you'll be a junior like me and wondering how you're already through half of high school. Good luck
And then you'll be a Senior like me and scared out of your mind about college. Enjoy being the top dogs on campus because you revert back to being a freshman in college.
thank you so much for this video. i've been having panic attacks because i've been thinking about starting freshman year in about a month. this video really soothed my worries and made me feel more secure. 💛💛💛
Oh don't worry too much! In my experience, high school is so much better than middle school, you may lose some friends but you get to discover some new things and make new experiences and it's totally worth it, I'm sure you'll be fine:)
my mom who uses the defense “you’re an above average student”: *must’ve been the wind* also, oH MY FUCKING GOSH YOUR NAME IS AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH NEWSIES FANS ARE EVERYWHERE AND I LIVE FOR IT AHDGSHDBDHSHDHDB
ALSO I NEED MORE ADVICE! I'm scared of entering highschool, all I want to do it change, I heard that in your freshman year seniors and older kids will be picking on you and saying stuff, I just want to be smart in arguments like that.
It’s genuinely not that bad, I’m class of 2022. If we’re back to learning in school for the new year, try to go to open house and learn the ways to your classes. Skipping class is really worth it, people will make fun of you if you skip in the bathroom 😭. Keep your grades up, it’s easier to maintain a 3.0+ gpa than to have like a 2.5 gpa and try to bring it up. Don’t feel pressured into taking AP classes if you don’t want to. Lockers aren’t really that important, especially if you don’t have all 7/8 periods in one day. It’s kinda annoying when people take up most of the hallway to talk, so don’t do that. Your freshman year, you won’t actually be able to “choose your classes” unless you took some courses over summer, depending your school, two of your electives will be P.E. and Health.
it isn't that bad if you prepare yourself properly and let go of middle school, start off high school with a fresh slate, don't put up too many expectations, understand your schools academic or sport rigor, so you can understand how to get by, understand when you should drop a class, so many people are scared of it, but from experience, I wish I dropped from my honors alg II class, my mental health is still severely damaged from it. Volunteer hours! get those in during your freshman and sophomore year, as school is going to only get more rigorous and stressful. AP classes and Dual Enrollment should be given thought, but only take AP classes that you are INTERESTED in and have good teachers, I wish I knew this before my AP exams this year. Go to club intros, and only stay in clubs you are passionate about or can benefit from. Force yourself to make friends, everyone is new to the school, and scared to break out of their shell, so go ahead, start new friendships. Befriend your upperclassmen, they can and usually will become your mentors throughout the school year. Take the more difficult or unappealing classes during summer school, if you are able to! Befriend some of your teachers, so that they will be able to provide good advice, and later on, good recommendations. also, prepare your college list the summer before junior year, and do tours during the school year, and start your college apps at the end of junior year, begin by asking for recommendations near the end of the school year. (If you need any more guidance or tips, heres my insta @aleena.lejm)
3:54 my science teacher does that 😂 my social studies teacher does the opposite. He gave me a 3,000% on an extra credit assignment that I didn't do but obviously i didn't say anything.
So true. One day, you'll graduate and you probably won't be seeing most of your chohort ever again, so make the most of your high school life. It's literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have one more term left (10 weeks) of high school, and the exams next term, and let me tell you, i regret no LIVING in my younger years as if it were my last. Time flies by SO FAST as you get older. This isnespecially for my fellow Aussies, who grow up with their mates from year 7-12. Good luck.
Lmao my parents are the complete opposite. Whenever I’m in a hurry, they say that I can wait and whenever I’m walking my little brother to school early, my dad says it’s totally fine to be a couple minutes late. 😂 I’m the only one in my family who takes getting to school on time super seriously. 😂
I really like your sense of humor and dry wit and tbh I also just graduated high school and I literally can't even remember what happened before 11th grade
Littearly im a freshman rn but its the fourth term in 3 weeks and I still haven't been in the school. But these three next coming fridays they're doing freshman orientation. It makes me emotional I couldn't enjoy my first year of highschool and last weeks of 8th grade :C.
Queen Green Bean in my school for every time you miss a class you would loose 1 grade on that subject So if you got a 100 on the test you would get 99 if you missed that class one time
As someone who graduated today as a valedictorian who got along with literally every student in my grade. Make the social side your priority. Your friends are your family in highschool. The classes, the work all that kinda stuff is important and try and find a way to enjoy every subject but it’s really such a small part of what you’ll remember. At times highschool will feel like the rest of your life. Like the drama, chaos, endless work piles and restless nights will never end. But I promise you it’ll feel like only a couple of months went by when it’s all over. As far as making new friends or anything it’ll come naturally. People like you are out there and will find you. As far as the whole “be yourself and you can’t fail” idea is concerned I don’t really agree. Go in with the idea of letting highschool take you where it will. Your friends or whoever you meet in the first few days won’t be the same a month later and neither will you. You change so fast in highschool it’s almost unbelievable. It’s scary but it is So. Much. Fun. This is the perfect time in your life to follow your dreams and live to the fullest. Now that doesn’t mean go drug yourself up and get shitfaced every week like some kids will. But if you’re not one of those people (I’m sure as hell not) don’t be afraid of those kinds of folks. Some of my best friends are party animals and while some of that stuff isn’t really for me we get along great. And for anyone whose more introverted and is really freaked out by the ideas of the social interactions that great. Truly. Anyone who says that being introverted is worse than being extroverted is out of their minds. This world absolutely needs both. The time you spend and the relationship you build with yourself in highschool will let you hone in on any skills, hobby’s or dreams that you have and give you a whole other level of confidence in your abilities. I can’t really say don’t be scared or don’t worry cause I was terrified my first day. Genuinely scared like I’d never been before. But I wouldn’t take being afraid back for a second. As an anxious kid any field trips, events or anything that wasn’t the normal school day got me pretty worked up. But even those moments I wouldn’t change for a second. You should take it one day at a time but keep in mind the whole four years is one of the biggest adventures you’ll ever live through. Highschool can be so much fun. I really hope anyone who is reading this finds a way to make it the adventure of a lifetime like I did. Savour every moment. It’ll be grad before you know.
Do u have any advice on first day of lunch I’m a sophomore now since it’s summer now but all freshman yr was virtual and haven’t even been to my school
@@galacticgiselle9327 that’s definitely a tougher situation but I definitely think that when you meet people IRL for the first time even though you’re a sophomore it’ll kinda be like day one as a freshman anyway. (Socially at least). I’m not sure about you but I know for me any of the new students who joined in our year while we were virtual were kinda hard to get to know. When things look more normal I know it’s really basic advice but what I now know to be true is try and be as normal and genuine as you can. I found the social side of highschool was totally just a fake it till you make it kinda deal. I really didn’t know what I was doing but at the start I tried to talk to as many people as I could and just be someone that other folks would be comfortable talking too given most of the other kids were probably gonna be pretty nervous for their first day of highschool too. At the start don’t try and come on too strong but make a name for yourself and let people know you. The more open you are and confident you are in being as transparent with people as you can be the more they will naturally gravitate towards you. Confidence is really just learning to play off embarrassing things. Highschool is kinda the breeding ground for embarrassment and we as people are programmed to run from embarrassment but if you can find a way to laugh at yourself harder than other people can laugh at you and play it off well that entire fear will disappear. Idk what more I can say about that and I’m not sure if any of that was helpful but I genuinely hope it was. Your situation isn’t one I’ve had to deal with first hand in the past so all I can really give you is my reference point based on what I know but I know that in highschool if you’re absurdly over confident you have nothing to be worried about and you’ll make friends quick. You don’t have to be friends with anyone and having a few close friends is better than getting socially exhausted trying to please everyone but I’d definitely say try and get along with all types of people from all different walks of life. At the end of the day the most important thing is being comfortable in your own skin and when you look back after every day and in a few years look back over the whole experience you can know in your heart you gave it your all and were as good a person as you could be.
My parents always send me to school when I have cramps. I can't think if my stomach hurts so bad like I'm even learning anything if I just want to go home and lie down
i was in 8th grade (2019-2020) and during lockdown i missed out on a lot and its not even close to the end of summer ( my school "closed" June 14th) its only been a week and im just constantly watching advice and GRWM videos even though i have like 2-3 months left
honestly ty so much for this video there’s so many things that i wasn’t gonna do bc ppl would think it’s “weird” or i didn’t want to do some classes bc it would be extra work but this really made me rethink my decisions
mar204 Trust that extra work will look good on your high school resume. Colleges would rather see a 3.5 GPA with AP and Honors rather than a 4.0 in only CP classes.
omg i forgot abt this comment but i’m now done w sophomore yr and my hs experience has been way better than expected!!! i was such a scaredy cat back then lol
@@avalon3821 me too i’m so scared to start high school, i stayed at home for a whole year and homeschooled bc of covid and now i’m going to a hug high school with ppl that i don’t know and i have social anxiety 😥
Honeeey.... 1.Choose your friends wisely, needing a big group of friends is bullshit, you just need few but loyal peeps to trust. 2. You will experience identity crisis so althroughout your highschool years focus on discovering yourself, try new things, find out what you love and like and do it! 3. Grades don’t define you but it does matter think about your parents. 4. Love life and dating isn’t exactly relevant in hightschool, you may feel like you need to be in a relationship at high school but....No, you don’t. Take your time, love yourself and just enjoy your high school life. 5. keep in mind that there will be teachers that will beat the crap out of you.
I’m a junior fixing to be a senior and the stuff I wish I knew before starting: - there’s no freshman Friday’s, thank the lord. - my counselors and people like that are not actually that helpful. - teachers are more strict. - a lot of snobby upperclassmen. - getting judged and picked on for liking kpop. - you’ll find it much easier to get rid of the people who don’t care about you as much as you thought. Honestly I just stayed the same as I was, only kept to my friends. My anxiety got worse in high school and a lot of stress was put on me. All my teachers bitched about good grades and shit and often times I would zone out. My school isn’t really that helpful because the counselors were just not even helpful or anyone isn’t helpful. And I’m honestly just want senior year to fly by so I can be out of school and not have to worry. But you will make good memories and there are teachers who can be your best friend and stuff like that but I guess it how you put yourself. For freshman, don’t be so nervous there’s nothing to really worry about. Some upper class people can be very annoying but just ignore them. This upper class person was coming into the gym at my school one time and I literally watched this happened. He went to the door and pulled on it and it was locked and I pointed to the other door right beside it because it was open and then he got all bitchy about it because I didn’t do it for him. Don’t go so hard on yourself, you’ll regret it. Just take it easy and go with the flow. Don’t stress over the amount of work that you’ll have, yes it can be a lot but you’ll eventually get through it.
So you're high-key terrified? Honestly me too tho haha I'm starting high school next year, and absolutely trying to be over prepared for high school 😂😂😂
I also feel like so many people wanna glow before they go to highschool, like it’s fine if you wanna but if you’re “glowing up” (physically) just so you feel validated by other people. Then just nope. Glow up for yourself, nobody else. Period 👁👄👁 💅
I just finished my freshman year and it wasnt as bad as i thought. I just wished I did more activities because it a simple year depending on your classes. I'm socially awkward and I was able to make friends with with atleast 4/7 classes of people. Sometimes people will come to you and remember that everyone is also nervous but just more out spoken
I'm heading into my sophomore year soon, Don't worry freshman year isn't that bad. Just ignore people who might have intentions that don't better you as a person and enjoy yourself.
I live in a city with an excellent educational system which is nice because our middle schools are "assigned " highschools. We barely have any new people on the first day. It's the same people we met in middle school.
god i am excited to be able to choose the classes im in, and not have stuff be dumbed down (im a middleschooler and my principal got rid of honnors classes the year i joined this school and every class is so easy and boring to the point where the teachers just let me do whatever bc they know im completely fine with wtvr subject)
I wish I had taken the classes and my grades way more seriously. I also wish I had taken more classes in summer school to leave my schedule open for electives and special courses I was interested in during the year.
The Teacher thing is sooooooo true so at the last 3 to 4 months of school I had to go into 2 surgeries in one week and I was out for almost 2 months it was extremely stressful but I decided to meet up with my math teacher after school and we would work together on my assignments and it was like she was my friend and since then I learned that teachers cannot only be your teacher but a friend. Set a good example of yourself to your teacher and really get on their good side just really try and enjoy your time with them and you could benefit with that so much and it puts them and you in a brighter mood in the long run 👍 work with your teacher when you can 👍👍👍👍😋
I love reading all of these nervous comments from people about to go into high school. I’ll be entering my senior year in high school soon, and the advice I can give is make sure you get involved and build good relationships with your friends and teachers. Don’t get dragged into unnecessary drama, and figure out your likes and dislikes 👍
Why is this recommended to me I'm already graduated and haven't watched anything like this lol edit: Pretty good advice though and I love your humor and editing. I'm gonna be a college freshie this year too, good luck :)
This is for the upcoming Freshmen! HS is completely different from middle school I just finished my first year of high school and what I can say is I honestly had a very good year! High school is way more free and most teachers are lay back the key is just show respect to them and they will respect you I had really good relationships with most my teachers also it's true freshmen have a bad reputation in high school with being immature and annoying but honestly it's true we are but that doesn't mean that you have to be immature and annoying honestly just don't be over dramatic don't be loud don't be that annoying kid please just take freshman year slowly and you'll get used to it honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be I actually enjoyed my freshman year and I hope you guys enjoy your freshman year as well just take it easy of course there's going to be a lot of work I was doing homework everyday when I got home from school but that's just how it is so just try your hardest and have fun it's your last 4 years of school before you go out into the real world for me it's my last 3 years since I'll be a sophomore Also please don't watch movies about high school thinking it's like that! movies overdramatize it! You'll see how HS is when you get into it
I wish I listened to myself because my science teacher last year talked me into talking the highest science course for grade 10 but I'm not realizing that is just going to be torture for me, sadly once we start school we cant change classes so I'm stuck with that for half the year
Omg!! I literally had the same exact situation with honors bio sophomore year, I struggled so much while everyone else in my class acted like everything was so easy. I was so afraid to switch because I thought people would think I wasn’t smart enough to stay in the honors class. Thankfully I finally convinced myself to switch at the semester and my stress level went way down. Still one of the best school related decisions I’ve ever made.
abbey raye don’t worry, every school is different. A lot of the reason why I had a hard time was because of my teacher and his teaching style which didn’t fit my needs as a student. As long as you do your homework and really study you should be fine, but don’t let your self get stressed out too much.
I love that this video isn’t the generic stuff every other video has. I absolutely loved it. I’m starting high school next year, and now i feel better. Plsssss make a part 2, this was so good. The perfect combination of humor and seriousness. Loved it. Thanks so much
My high school deadass played this at the freshman assembly 😂

so like y’all wanna make a snapchat groupchat to prepare for high school or
where is my mom add me lol
Yep! I’m kinda scared that I won’t be prepared
• don’t shout out to your friend in the middle of the hallway
• never block the hallways (if you’re going to walk slow don’t be in the middle)
• take AP and duel enrollment classes (dual enrollment is good for over the summer)
• online courses are your friend
• never do the bare minimum (ex. take 4 years of math/science, and at least 3+ years of language) - colleges love this
• do extra-curricular like sports and clubs to meet new people
• take classes that relate to either your interests and potential future jobs
• nobody cares what you wear and nobody notices/cares if you wear the same shirt or something twice
• getting a B or missing a homework assignment isn’t the end of the world... in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal
• ask for extra credit or help in class if you are struggling
• enjoy highschool, you only have 4 years. make some friends, talk to those people next to you, try new sports/clubs, go out with friends, live life.
Don't procrastinate, if you don't give a homework it's okay. But don't keep doing it, you'll grades will be affected.
But don’t keep procrastinating or don’t keep doing your homework?
Allie actually in my school you get made fun of for what you wear ahahha
In Ireland high-school is 6 years lol
I feel like some of the kids that will go to my school will be very judgements based on the kids that go to my middle school rn
Please for the love of god don’t do fortnite dances in the middle of the hallway
I have that problem where I go.
this kid does it all the time, he legit makes people fall flat on their face from the dances 😂

Top tips I received:
1:Dont "try to look cool" and make a scene of yourself, it will set your bars low.
2: If your going to copy something(papers or sum) then put it out of order, and change a lot of words.
3:Dont be mean to look tuff
4:Do what you want, and what you like, not your friends.
5:Make at least one friend, and if you cant, then talk to someone who looks like they also cant.
6: this tip is for making friends. To make friends, just while partner activities, ask to be with them, then you have to socialize.
7:For the love of god don't date seniors
8: Dont lisen to random elders.
9:Have fun and dont think "I will look stupid" or "What if"
10: set goals for the year/term
11:dont be a wuss.
12: DO NOT do drugs
Edit: 100+ likes thank yall
Rando Bob LMAOOO DONT DATE SENIORS💀oh n alsoooo what do you do if you wanna find all your classes easy like do I ask ppl or do I just try to find it my self?
@@katiequispe8454 You can try or attempt to find it yourself, but if you dont have a friend to find it with ask the upper grades, like they arent gonna be like "Ew" its just as if the lower grade asked you, they will help you to skip their class lol

That's my advice.

Freshmen
1: wear deodorant and take showers daily
2: don't run in the halls or stand in the middle of the hallway
3: You can talk to upperclassmen and ask questions but don't be overly bearing, it's annoying.
DONT TAKE SHOWERS DAILY ITS SO BAD FOR YOUR HAIR
Cecelia 5576 you can take them daily just don’t use shampoo everyday
DON'T TAKE SHOWERS EVERYDAY IT FUCKS UR SKIN ADAM TOLD ME
Wind you guys honestly sound stupid like do you want me to stink? oh ok
Wind na, just washing ur hair everyday is bad. all u gotta do is invest in a shower cap haha
1. Take at least 1 AP class every year to boost your GPA
2. Do your homework
3. Don’t walk slowly and don’t stand in the middle of the hallway
4. Take at least 1 class that you love (for me it was chorus)
5. Go to every dance your school offers to make some good memories
6. Ask that guy/girl out
7. And lastly, have fun and don’t stress too much, high school doesn’t last forever.

1. Don't juul, especially in the bathroom, it's annoying (plus it's a huge expense you cannot afford)
2. DON'T SKIP CLASS, you are going to regret it, trust me
3. Become friends with your teachers! They exist to help and nine times outta ten they have a sense of humor
4. Get to know upperclassmen. They're not as scary as you think. They love to help you out, and if you're lucky they might take you to lunch and give you some more advice (NOTE: usually it's not a good idea to date them either if you're a freshman or sophomore)
5. Take some challenging classes even if you don't feel like it. I promise when college comes, those classes will have been worth it
6. If you can, do your homework in class or during lunch so that you can have a life after school. The sooner the better, I promise
That's it, hope this helps💕
Elizabeth Mayr thanks! Also juuling is so annoying, some kids in my 8th grade last year did it.
how is it annoying
esme anderson bc they think it’s cool, when in reality, hanging out in a dirty middle school bathroom during lunch and juuling is honestly just pathetic. They then brag about it afterwards and I overhear them in class.

i’m terrified for next year. i’m gonna be a freshman and i have really bad anxiety so idk what’s gonna happen. my school is literally 7 different buildings and i know i’m gonna get lost :(

I have Panic disorder
I've had panic attacks in class before and it sucked
Omg I legit had a mental breakdown today because I’m scared to go to high school

Sarah H I remember having tiny hallways and groups of like 6 girls (not being sexist, literally 90% of the time it was all women. Just a statistical fact) taking up the entire hallway then giving u looks if u accidentally run into them
1. I would probably be to scared to even step in the hallway

hey :) i just took WHAP and thought you’d like to know a lil something... it’s a pretty large amount of work/info, but as long as you do your assignments and remember essay formats, you’re pretty much set. also, i’d suggest studying a decent amount, but spread it out over many days. i have a really good memory, so i didn’t study much (barely at all) with the exception of the day before the actual AP test. also, john green’s Crash Course videos on TH-cam are the best, as well as study sets on quizlet. last but not least... Peyton Self me too i’mso nervous!! oh god
im less nervous, because i have a cousin who is going to be a senior at the same school, so i have a little bit of an advantage, but im still really nervous :/
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me!
thank you!!

ALSO I NEED MORE ADVICE! I'm scared of entering highschool, all I want to do it change, I heard that in your freshman year seniors and older kids will be picking on you and saying stuff, I just want to be smart in arguments like that.
Class of 2024, I’m honestly anxious of going to high school, any advice?
Your freshman year, you won’t actually be able to “choose your classes” unless you took some courses over summer, depending your school, two of your electives will be P.E. and Health.
I Have No Name Thank you so much, and I start school on August 3rd.
it isn't that bad if you prepare yourself properly and let go of middle school, start off high school with a fresh slate, don't put up too many expectations, understand your schools academic or sport rigor, so you can understand how to get by, understand when you should drop a class, so many people are scared of it, but from experience, I wish I dropped from my honors alg II class, my mental health is still severely damaged from it.

Good luck.

I can't think if my stomach hurts so bad like I'm even learning anything if I just want to go home and lie down
Well, this helped I’m starting High School this year... 😊
Benjamin Garret’s Son sameee
Good luck to all of you I loved freshman year
Benjamin Garret’s Son Same. I’m super nervous
Blantnat lsoer don't be, it'll be fine.
grace Wethersfield Yeah hopefully. But I won’t know anyone 🤷🏽♀️
It’s never too late for one of ur uploads;)
i was in 8th grade (2019-2020) and during lockdown i missed out on a lot and its not even close to the end of summer ( my school "closed" June 14th) its only been a week and im just constantly watching advice and GRWM videos even though i have like 2-3 months left
honestly ty so much for this video there’s so many things that i wasn’t gonna do bc ppl would think it’s “weird” or i didn’t want to do some classes bc it would be extra work but this really made me rethink my decisions
mar204 Trust that extra work will look good on your high school resume. Colleges would rather see a 3.5 GPA with AP and Honors rather than a 4.0 in only CP classes.
Not much is considered weird towards the end
I’m gonna be a freshman and I’m honestly so nervous about making new friends and if people will like me or not omg I’m a wreck lol
How was your freshman year did it go okay?
omg i forgot abt this comment but i’m now done w sophomore yr and my hs experience has been way better than expected!!! i was such a scaredy cat back then lol
mia isabella that’s so great that it went better than you thought! :)
Can you please give advice for an awkward freshman 😭 I dont know how to make friends ahh
I’m a junior fixing to be a senior and the stuff I wish I knew before starting:
- there’s no freshman Friday’s, thank the lord.
Yo I'm starting high school next year and low-key terrified. Especially cause I'm most likely doing IB in junior and senior year! 😬😨
Savvy AAAAH SAME
So you're high-key terrified? Honestly me too tho haha I'm starting high school next year, and absolutely trying to be over prepared for high school 😂😂😂
I also feel like so many people wanna glow before they go to highschool, like it’s fine if you wanna but if you’re “glowing up” (physically) just so you feel validated by other people. Then just nope. Glow up for yourself, nobody else. Period 👁👄👁 💅
Literally I am terrified.. I’m going into high school for my freshman year and I am sooooo nervous
Caelin Smith same
I just finished my freshman year and it wasnt as bad as i thought. I just wished I did more activities because it a simple year depending on your classes. I'm socially awkward and I was able to make friends with with atleast 4/7 classes of people. Sometimes people will come to you and remember that everyone is also nervous but just more out spoken
Omg same but I’m also kinda excited !
I'm heading into my sophomore year soon, Don't worry freshman year isn't that bad. Just ignore people who might have intentions that don't better you as a person and enjoy yourself.
Caelin Smith it's literally just like middle school with the exception of more responsibilities and even more stress. Don't be worried!

Me: school doesn’t start till next month

How was it
@@liam4977 i commented that before highschool, im in eleventh rn and its shit 🤷
Class of 2022 wya?💗
Trinity Harnes here but who knows if I'll make it there
Probably won't
Wow time flies, I remember saying this a lot about my class when I was in high school (Class of 2015). Now I'm a college senior.
Here
Trinity Harnes I start Next Wednesday 😩
That awkward moment when your teacher says get into a group or get a partner and you know no one😭
Why is this recommended to me I'm already graduated and haven't watched anything like this lol
edit: Pretty good advice though and I love your humor and editing. I'm gonna be a college freshie this year too, good luck :)
coming from an incoming freshman i apologize for the rest of my class that don’t have older siblings
well it’s finally time to watch the “freshman” advice videos😪
This is for the upcoming Freshmen!
HS is completely different from middle school I just finished my first year of high school and what I can say is I honestly had a very good year! High school is way more free and most teachers are lay back the key is just show respect to them and they will respect you I had really good relationships with most my teachers also it's true freshmen have a bad reputation in high school with being immature and annoying but honestly it's true we are but that doesn't mean that you have to be immature and annoying honestly just don't be over dramatic don't be loud don't be that annoying kid please just take freshman year slowly and you'll get used to it honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be I actually enjoyed my freshman year and I hope you guys enjoy your freshman year as well just take it easy of course there's going to be a lot of work I was doing homework everyday when I got home from school but that's just how it is so just try your hardest and have fun it's your last 4 years of school before you go out into the real world for me it's my last 3 years since I'll be a sophomore
Also please don't watch movies about high school thinking it's like that! movies overdramatize it! You'll see how HS is when you get into it
This is really helpful
I did not understand a word she said and I’m going to be a freshman this year...
It’s Jasmine dont stress that much. I'm gonna be a freshman this year too
Im am s freshman and I had mental breakdown in the bathroom on day 3
literally how she made everything so clear
I wish I listened to myself because my science teacher last year talked me into talking the highest science course for grade 10 but I'm not realizing that is just going to be torture for me, sadly once we start school we cant change classes so I'm stuck with that for half the year
Thank you so much! I'm just going into year 7 (Australia). You have saved me. Now, I can't wait for high school!
Alara Akyuz I just made an Aussie high school video which you might like !!
Augusta Nickolaus i’m taking it this year and i’m a freshie 😫😫😬
abbey raye don’t worry, every school is different. A lot of the reason why I had a hard time was because of my teacher and his teaching style which didn’t fit my needs as a student. As long as you do your homework and really study you should be fine, but don’t let your self get stressed out too much.
4:11 my Spanish teacher always told us this she never used the rubrics she wasn't that kind of teacher and she was awesome
Me watching this video knowing damn well I’m never going to high school bc of corona 👁👄👁
What about now?
This dumb bitch says: first semester is all online :(
I love that this video isn’t the generic stuff every other video has. I absolutely loved it. I’m starting high school next year, and now i feel better. Plsssss make a part 2, this was so good. The perfect combination of humor and seriousness. Loved it. Thanks so much
“This whole video is gonna be cheesy and honestly I’m dying inside”
