    I’ve learned from my first pregnancy that it’s useless to worry, and to enjoy your pregnancy. I’ve had positive experiences and I try to enjoy being pregnant. Change your mindset to a positive one and control what you can, everything will be okay. Trust in God if you can’t be strong enough

    My 1st labor was three days of laboring at home, painful contractions to get to 5 cm to be able to be admitted to labor and delivery, but once I was admited and got my epidural it went quick, I went from 5 to 6 by the time it took me to get up to a room, and then I slept a few hours and woke up ready to push at 9, pushed for 30 minutes and he was born.
    I'm really hoping with my 2nd, I can get to 5cm faster and not be at home and miserable for days on end. hoping for a quicker time next time.

    My second baby came in 4 hours so we thought it might be a good idea to induce #3 to make sure I was there in time. Ended up being a good plan since I went from 3cm and no noticeable contractions to baby in my arms in 15 minutes! Had I gone into labor at home, she probably would have arrived on my kitchen floor!

      @@diannea.7386 yes! early labor started around 5pm and she was born at 3:59am but because I prepared SO much beforehand this time with breathing techniques and just mentally having no fear I didn't realize I was in active labor until it was almost time to push. my husband called my doula and midwife around 2am they arrived around 3am and she was born just before 4am. I didn't even know I was in transition and pushed even less than 30 mins. maybe like 10 mins? so it was much shorter.
      wanna know the only bad news? 😬 I had prodromal labor every night and some during the day for 6 days before that. it was sooo exhausting and I never knew if or when it would turn into true labor so that was wild. hopefully that doesn't happen to you though. that was the ONE thing I wasn't mentally prepared for but it really helped speed up the actual labor I think and made me mentally stronger weirdly enough. having multiple nights of intense contractions lasting all night made real labor a breeze (other than making knowing when to call the birth team kinda confusing lol)

    Hi Dr Marta,
    Thank you for offering your educational information here. I am in the third trimester of my second pregnancy. I have placenta previa. I watched these videos of yours quite a few times, very informative. Could I please ask you a question, if I can still have a natrual birth can I have induction and epidural booked and start at the same time? Some people say I have to wait until I am 4cm dilated, I'm not sure why?

      Yes, you can. Sperm can survive in the vagina for up to 5 days. If you ovulate earlier you can definitely still get pregnant. I ovulate day 9 and my periods are 5 days long so I can definitely can pregnant while still on my period

    • @nehamumtaz7999

      No. Pregnancy can only occur when you are fertile. On periods thats not the case so chances of conceiving are close to zero

    • @julessb
      @julessb ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nehamumtaz7999umm u can definitely get pregnant from having sex while your on your period, the chances are extremely low but it can happen...
      Conception requires the meeting of sperm with an egg. Once the ovary releases an egg, the egg lives for only between 12 and 24 hours. The sperm can live for about 3 days.
      The typical menstrual cycle is 28 days. Day 1 is the start of your period. Ovulation usually occurs around day 14 (but it could be around days 12, 13, or 14).
      Ovulation is when the ovary releases an egg for fertilization. If sperm is available in the uterus, pregnancy can occur.
      Ovulation can vary based on your cycle. Some people have a longer cycle of around 35 days between periods. Ovulation would then happen around day 21. Those with a shorter cycle of 21 days ovulate around day 7.

    Is there any information about length of labor if you ultimately had a failed induction and C section? Expect 2nd labor to progress more like a 1st?

    • @dr.martaperez
      @dr.martaperez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends how far your body reached in labor, how many centimeters dilated. More advanced stage in labor might mean a faster labor next time but a C-section early in labor usually the body resembles a first time labor next time.
