    "You will sleep again..."
    Exactly what I needed to hear 🤣 I didn't have enough sleep for several months with my first baby and that was kinda traumatic. When I found out abt my 2nd pregnancy, I was so anxious that I will never be able to sleep again.
    Thank you so much!

      I have been sleeping since my first was 8 months. Ironically, that was when we found out I was pregnant again. The first 8 months of my son's life were rough as ever, he rarely napped. It was HARD. But i'll be honest, him sleeping was a huge reason I saw it as very possible to take on a second wholeheartedly, without dread.

  • @plainolerichie

    I’m a dad, we have two. I definitely felt the transition from 0 to 1 was bigger than 1 to 2, but the second was easier. I think the different personalities of the two (with second being more chill) helped. A couple things I would add, the two after 7-8 months start entertaining each other so time needed IMO almost became a wash and broke out even. The other thing is since they are at different stages, your connection to them might also be different. My older one was talking, walking, playing etc. and it’s different connection than an infant, at least for me as a dad.

    I currently am 9 weeks with my 2nd, and have a 13 month old right now. He is the absolute light of my life and I've stuggled with the thought of "neglecting" him or not having "enough love" for my 2nd. I was glad you touched on both of these topics with great advice! It is very encouraging and I look forward to watching my heart expand & grow for this new little gift in my life✨❤️

    Thank you for this video! I am newly a mom of two, a 5 yr old and 4 week old. And, it's tough emotionally, mentally, and physically. It's hard to give my 5 yr old the attention she deserves. I try, like when we do lots of homework together or fold laundry, (not really all that fun for her) but I'm still consumed with frustration that I can't give more or be more to both my children. I didn't see this coming and feel run ragged most days. Taking care of myself is nearly out of reach, whereas running for miles used to be my daily go-to. Breastfeeding just takes up the whole day!!! But, your video gives me hope that each day will get better. I NEED to hear this message more from other moms.

    The amount of negative stories about having a second child (and motherhood in general) is staggering. Thank you so much for your positive outlook and advice! Can't tell you how refreshing your perspective is. I've always felt super positive about motherhood and wholeheartedly reject the "mommy martyr" identity, but since finding out I'm pregnant with my second, I've worried that I will lose that positive outlook. Your video was just the perfect boost to keep my mindset in check. Thank you!

      @@hunterd.p2718 i know,but these people act victimized by their own kids.they are not a martyr. You CAN complain, but those are 2 different things! I was on this mommy vlog and this woman was complaining about everything, how she was resentful that she is the preg one, not her husband and the worst part of pregnancy is the baby😑 and all of them where like, this is so true. Life is so unfair to women🙄 we have to take care of a baby.

    I am 8 months pregnant right now and my boy is 13 months old. My pregnancy is really hard on me and I already feel so much guilt that even through my boys first year of life I could not be the mom for him I wanted to be. So many times I was too tired or to nauseaus that I just wished he would go for a nap or sleep longer during the day instead of cherishing and enjoying the time with him. So many times I could not carry him, because I was just to weak. Letting him learn walking mostly on his own because it was so painful for me to bend down constantly to help him. So many times I did not play with him because I just wanted to sit down a bit longer. I feel awful, I could not life up to my own standards. First moths of his life before pregnancy I was that active mom that was outside all the time, enjoying the weather and nature, crawling with him on the floor, I just wasn't able to keep it up. I look forward to the day I'm giving birth to just end that miserable state of being pregnant, but even then I just missed out so much on my son and I will never have the same amount of time again for him.

      @@buktagabriella nice that you ask. My older son is almost 3 years old and my little one will be 2 in December. As you can image the first year with a toddler and a baby wasn't always easy. But i could handle it much better than being pregnant wirh a baby/ toddler. Every day my youngest got older it became easier. Now they are playing together and it's the most beautiful thing to watch. I love it. But I'm still haunted by my pregnant days and my guilt towards my older son. But now i also feel guilty that my youngest never experienced alone time with me, the guilt just never ends, i guess...

    • @erinhansen614
      @erinhansen614 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why experts say not to get pregnant 5 months after giving birth, but recommend waiting at least a year to 18 months before getting pregnant again. Your child will be walking without support so you don't have to bend down, they'll be on a good nap and sleep schedule, allowing you rest in your first trimester, and saving your back in the third.

I really appreciated this. My first child was a dream, happy healthy, slept well just a great baby. He was so easy and made being a mum a dream. Im fully aware the second baby wont be the same as my first (the pregnancy is so much harder too), I guess thats what scares me. I know I'll adjust, I know we will be fine but I cant comprehend how I will make it all work. How I will take care of everybody, how will I have enough love, how will i have enough time, how will I have enough attention, how will i sleep? There's about 16 months age gap between the kids. 1st child is definitely the biggest adjustment, especially if you go from fulltime job talking to people all day to staying home alone with your baby. 2nd was much easier. 3rd it's as if nothing changed😊only now the 3 and almost 2 year old are quite the busybodies.

    Thank you SO MUCH for this very energetically realistic video. I definitely cried the last remark about having enough love- and it doesn't matter how many times i've heard this. It hits like a ton of bricks every time and even has me thinking about how it began with my partner and I as individuals... our children are the result of our love, despite the extremely difficult adjustment this has been. I'm expecting 1-2 to be easier than 0-1 and mine are back to back. Immediately when I found out I was like, I got this. My confidence is high and it cannot be shaken by anyone else's experience. Becoming a mother was a shock in every way and since our brains are more acclimated each subsequent pregnancy, I do believe this has to do with the adjustment being the most abrupt physically, on top of the many lifestyle changes.

    I put the baby down and I am going to take a shower! I have 2 children, a newborn and a 3 year old. At least twice now I have been missing my older one as we don't spend that much time together now. Thank you for this video, it is good to hear that from another mum. :-)

    Thank you, we have a difficult 1st born and we’d love to give her a sibling but we’re so exhausted mentally just looking after her we can’t possibly imagine adding another. How could we manage. But like you say, you just adapt and overcome. ❤

    Thank you for this encouriging video!❤🤗 You're such a genuine, experienced yet young mom. I'm 26 now and my daughter is turning 4 so I started thinking maybe I can do this and have one more baby soon even though I used to reject the idea of having more kids because my delivery was horrible. But family is the greatest blessing ever and my daughter would love to have a sibling. Keep doing what you are doing and much love to your family 🤗

    My son is 3 and I've been struggling with the decision of having a second kid. I work as a middle school teacher, and I feel like I have so much on my plate. However, I'm already 35, so I'll have to make a decision quite soon. Your video made me cry, I think I want another one, but I'm so scared!

    I have one child and he is 5. I've been feeling like "the age gap" is getting further and further and I want to bring another child into to this world for many reasons. But also for many reasons it feels like we can't yet. I'm here just trying to get a feel for maybe when it is "ok" to have another baby. Plus more of what it's like living with two inside one in general. It seems like there's always a reason why we should wait.

      There's never a perfect time to have a baby because it comes with a lot of work and disruption. However, it is also not something I've ever regretted. Hope you can find peace about the situation. :)

      I understand! My son is nearly 6 and i'm 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow :) i feel my older son is more responsible and much more able to help out around the house. I'm teaching him about caring for the new baby in addition to giving him his own chores and jobs to do.
      The age factor was a big part in our decision to have a second child. I still wanted them to be best friends and love each other. They'll love regardless of any age gap :)

      Just wanted to say that my brothers are 10 and 7 years older than me and I adore them. We weren’t able to really bond until I was a teen (lots of reasons not just because of the age gap) but we did nonetheless. After a certain age the gap matters less and less if at all so for the majority of their lives they’ll be peers.

    I've been struggling with deciding between having a second baby or being one and done. Mainly because I'm nearly 39 and I feel like I've reached my capacity with my 2 year old. Your video is definitely giving me baby fever again...but could I ask a couple of personal questions? How old were you when you had your second? And would you consider yourself a low energy person or a high energy person? You look so vibrant in this video which is encouraging 🙂

    • @ThisHomeschoolHouse
      @ThisHomeschoolHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! I was basically a baby myself when I started having my kids. I was 24 when I had my second baby. I tend to be pretty active and busy so I guess I would be considered high energy?
      Honestly, those baby days were full on and I didn't realize quite how much until I looked back.
      However, we're out of the baby stage now and I have three kids. Life is still very busy and exhausting but it's different.
      I wouldn't change it for the world and I will never regret giving my kids siblings.
      It's a super personal decision to make but I personally have been very glad and thankful to have had my three kids. :)

      Hi. I am also 39 and considering having a second child. I am very scared but I really want my boy to have a sibling. I am going to face my fears and try for a second child as i firmly believe having a sibling is very important. Also scared of my child been alone after I am gone from this world.

    This is off topic, but this is my first time seeing your channel - but, I love your voice! And are you Australian or from New Zealand? Your accent is really slight, but that's what it sounded like to me.

    Thank you so much! I really needed to hear this. 🙏❤️ I have a 2 yo and My other son is due in sept/oct my son will be 3 October 2 so they will be three years apart. I’m also going to be moving possibly around the same time. I’m going to start IV iron infusions soon, I’ve been struggling so far with my energy being so low sometimes I can’t even stand up. My house is a mess, my son is very Hugh energy lol and very defiant and it’s just very strenuous and I’m so stressed. I have been so worried about what’s going to happen and how I’m physically going to handle it. I’m starting to try and accept it all and roll with it, but it’s very difficult to maintain a positive attitude and hope.
