Hi buzz, enjoyed Senora Mama Buzz feasting with her boys. That speaker was somethin. I like the simplicity of this radidio, pretty neato. Yeppirs, make a new cabinet top and bottum, , but use some of the old sides too. I like the speaker cutout. Yoo da radidiomeister. BTW, whatever happened to John Lockemeister? I miss him. DON
This is a bit off the subject, but then, maybe not. I wonder how the movie, The whizard of Oz would have varied, had you directed it? You, of course are also a true wizard; “Ignore that man behind that radio cabinet!”
Great video, as always. I have a Lafayette AM/FM radio that has the model number removed. I cannot find it on any place that I have searched. May I send you a picture of it to see if you can find the model number?
Hey Buzz, did you hear about the tube who went to the proctologist? The doctor told him, the probing revealed it was worst case of incontinuity he had ever seen. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a TRF set with 1 RF stage and a biased detector. Bias for the detector and output stages comes from voltage drop across the filter choke and a resistor in the negative side of the power supply. A super het wouldn't have cost mush more to make, RCA's patents on the circuit must have expired by then. Wonder how many TRF sets were still being made back then? Since the speaker is MIA, will you be adding another choke, or place a resistor there? Could bet away without one, it's only being used as a bleeder anyway. OH, so you did have the speaker, it was just removed from the cabinet and wrapped separately. Problem sorta solved! You've fixed a few speakers before, and some of them even worked afterwards. Lost art, reconing.
Hey Buzz! fellow Oregonian, so he gives you one radio? gee, I have about 25 that don't work.... all '30's radios too. They just don't work. Why you ask? if I knew that they might work. most likely because I worked on them. Say, by any chance do you happen to have a ballast tube a L42B?? I need one for an Emerson.....
What a great Friday, a Buzz1151 video! What happened to Dickel? The last couple of years he has been phoning it in. Why is he not talking about "Let's go Brandon" and his arch nemesis "Tronald Dump?" In 2016 Dickel went to see the inauguration after he ran for President. Dickel is now basically an announcer for late 60's Buzz/Bizz 8mm films. BTW you need an older tester that tests the tubes you use regularly. Just Sayin' !
@@Buzz1151 I understand, but the point I am trying to make is in your earlier videos there was a Dickel back story lately it seems as an after thought and he is announcing the old videos we have already seen. I was just hoping for new material I only used the 2016 political videos as an example. I understand you are getting older and may not have the energy to produce the same quality of video that you used to and if that's the case I understand but I just miss the dickel backstories.
I think you screwed the pooch on re-assembling that output transformer. Filter chokes have ALL the Es and Is go in the same direction. Power transformers have every other E and I in opposite directions, but AF transformers usually have them in groups, a bunch of 2-10 in the same direction followed by another bunch in the opposite direction, rinse, spin, repeat. Why? Well it has to do with core saturation vs frequency response. Chokes have one huge air gap because they run on pure DC and you don't want the core to saturate. Power transformers run on pure AC, so they have the smallest air gaps (lots of them!) and core saturation isn't an issue., while AF transformers run on both AC and pure DC, so they need medium air gaps as a compromise between frequency response and DC saturation. The way you did it might work, but you'll have limited freq response.

Your channel is like an old radio repair channel..on shrooms.
🤣😂 thanks!
Salutations Buzz, Love the sound of those tubes popping out. Sounds like a cork popping out of a fine 1937 Vintage Vino. Your rebuilding of the loud speaker is fascinating, Never seen it in that much detail. Radio sounds good, I knew it would! GODFREY DANIELS! OJ Killed someone? I love OJ especially with a splash of Vodka, or is that the other way around. That's a fine job you did rebuilding that output transformer. A FINE JOB! That wasn't LUCK, That was SKILL!
Gotta love that Mr. Bean for dropping in. Very entertaining Buzz. Now I got to get something to eat.
Thanks W. C. ....even though you've been dead for 78 years, you are still funny You win a free whiskey. 🥃
@@Buzz1151 Thank you, thank you. I'll give that whiskey a good home
Another resurrection by Buzz! You must be related to the Rev Billy Sol Hargis, you've both performed many resurrections!
hi Tim...never heard of rev Billy
Great job on the transformer rewinding. You are the king of transformer rewinding!! Looks like you have a real challenge on that cabinet. However, I have complete faith in you that the end result will be spectacular!! Did you buy this radio or will you send it back to it's owner when you finish it?
Jake gave me the radio, but if he wants it back, I'll send it...have too many radios already!
Another interesting radio I never heard of. Great job getting it to work. How long did it take you to repair that audio output Transformer Buzz?
Hi Larry.....I did it in 2 stages...disassemble 1 day........ re-assemble the next day.....the hard part was that I had 1 hour of footage, and had to edit it down to 5 min 30 secs (the length of the song) cheers my friend! 🍺
Hi Buzz I was wondering where you get your back round music? Would love to download some 30s music! Hope to hear back from you. Thanks
Jeff
all the music is found on TH-cam...just search for whatever you like.🍺
@@Buzz1151 Thanks Buzz I didn't know that. I'll give er a try.
I miss him.
DON
Hi Don.. I'll tell you a secret....there is this guy who comments on my videos as " The Ghost of W.C. Fields" that I believe is John Lockemeister!...
This is a bit off the subject, but then, maybe not. I wonder how the movie, The whizard of Oz would have varied, had you directed it? You, of course are also a true wizard; “Ignore that man behind that radio cabinet!”
🤣
The 43 tube can be checked as a 25A6 with an adapter.
thanks, you win a cookie! 🍪
Great video, as always. I have a Lafayette AM/FM radio that has the model number removed. I cannot find it on any place that I have searched. May I send you a picture of it to see if you can find the model number?
If you have googled it in a search, and found nothing, then that's what I would have done. Try looking at radio museum.

Hey Buzz, did you hear about the tube who went to the proctologist? The doctor told him, the probing revealed it was worst case of incontinuity he had ever seen. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
yes

Lost art, reconing.
got any info on Pacific Radio?
You must’ve been underwater in the Pacific for a while?
🍟🍺
Hey Buzz! fellow Oregonian, so he gives you one radio? gee, I have about 25 that don't work.... all '30's radios too. They just don't work. Why you ask? if I knew that they might work. most likely because I worked on them. Say, by any chance do you happen to have a ballast tube a L42B?? I need one for an Emerson.....
ballast tubes are getting rare....good luck on that..best to use an AC cap to lower the juice!
Dickel, like me, is just so sick of politics, like the rest of the country.....best to concentrate on comedy!
@@skullheadwater9839 write me a script. and maybe I'll do one. 😎
The way you did it might work, but you'll have limited freq response.
looking at some of the unused footage, I put it back the way it came off......the "I" all were together and not staggered.
OH Buzz 😵 😞 You are still # 1 in my book. I think the audio will come out backwards ! 😅 😂 And I don't career? I ❤ it anyways. Leo
@@K1ZEK Hi Leo..maybe the radio will sound like Biden now? hahaha😂😂
kind of ballzy askin u pay shipping and fix the radio. i would of said NO
No, not at all, he gave me the radio.....😏
Does anyone make decent crocodile clips?
man, if you find someone who makes some good ones, let me know!... I'd pay to have gator clips that don't bend, or slip !
Buzz, your videos are very interesting on the work you do on fixing up and restoring old radios. The sound effects help too, but when I see the bearded old puppet come on at the end of your videos is when I stop watching it. Anyhow you are a good entertainer.
haha🤣, thanks ok, he's an acquired taste...too bad, you miss my 8mm films!
You also missed the hilarious effects of the Zero bar. Go back and watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Please don't put those "sound effects" in there...🤯
NO!
You sure work extremely hard at comedy drop-in's. I appreciate this work but not the resulting comedy..But... and this is an important BUT... if your drop-in's are important to you then DO IT.. They are not that troubling to me....
thanks i appreciate that... I put these videos on TH-cam as a hobby, and do them the way I like. 🍺

I really enjoy watching that old gnome, if people don't like him don't watch him.
