@@jfulProblem is that our natural instinct is to look at the steering wheel to locate the buttons and then move your hand to touch the buttons since they are no longer in their default location. Their positioning is constantly changing since they're on the wheel now. This means people are taking their eyes off the road for a short moment in the middle of a turn. Seems like it's an entirely unnecessary complication when a fixed stalk kept the indicators in an unchanging location.
I have learned that the bottom one is the one I what to signal exiting the roundabout. (I don't drive a lot so it took me a few weeks) There are rare awkward situations, but for normal crossings, lane changes and small roundabouts it's fine.

Great video Will, I knew you would be one to instantly catch on to the new indicators. I can't wait to try them out, fingers crossed they will be at Fullycharged Live! Interesting to hear your thoughts of the acceleration compared to your M3.
Yes, the acceleration was a surprise. It's still quick mind, just not as punchy as mine. Some folks have suggested I had it on chill mode, but in the video you can see it's set to 'Standard'. Indicators: No bother at all, in fact, I really liked them!
@@TeslaJigsaw Ordered LR but changed to SR don’t do the miles or distances now. Loved my first M3 drive better than Y but this one is really nice. So much nicer. Hi Will - I had the 2021 LR in blue & changed to the 24 LR in Ultra Red - it's gorgeous! I went LR because I also like the acceleration - test drove the SR & can definitely feel the difference plus can also hear the difference with the fewer speakers in the SR. SR is good, but LR is absolutely awesome!! Much quieter, suspension better & all round fabulous car.
Great review dude! Enjoyed that. I’ve always been a massive fan of the pearlescent white. But that ultra red, is simply stunning. Might actually twist my arm 😂 If only they were all free colours!
Tesla’s done a great job with the new Model 3. It feels a quality product and I love the sleek exterior and minimal interior with the ambient lighting. It’s very refined and quiet on the road. I live in Thailand and my partner has just ordered one which we’ll get in two months. Very exciting!
Great review. I love the new Highland and like you it only took me 5 minutes to adapt to the No Stalks. I don't know what the fuss is about to be honest. I sold my 2023 Tesla Model 3 a month ago now ready for my new white Highland I have on order but unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet so I am really missing having a Tesla.

Great video, and great to find your videos. First time viewer and now subscribed. I am looking at the new Tesla Model 3. tested the older one a few weeks back and ride was far too firm and aggravated my neck due to an ancient injury! Test driving the new one in a couple of weeks time and having watched it seems a lot more likely it could work for me.
Good job mate. I just ordered a 2024 model 3 RWD in 🇨🇦 I like your comment about "Luddite's and their stalks. Embrace the future". I totally agree. I can't believe the fuss about this. There has been no stalks on the pricer models S and X for a while...
Bought mine without a test drive. I never had a car with heated steering wheel, I got the model 3 long-range in December and never expected to like heated steering wheels that much, especially with the car heating it before I get into the car, based on my location and scheduled departure time.
Great video, I love your honesty and fun way you reviewed the car. I've test driven the recent model and it is fantastic, so hopefully will be getting one in the summer.
Grate review final someone confirm indicating is not an issue, I have driven the new M3 and indicating becomes after 60 second much butter than ever before and using the old version becomes odd now.
these cars are getting more popular here in Bangkok... I see them more and more on the streets,,, Tesla as well as the BYD Seal. Somehow the word on the street is that Tesla has more charging stations and more range than the BYD. BOTH looks great but the Tesla tech and more intuitive approach to its tech with over the air updates is what won me over . Tesla Model 3 LR for me.
Good review. Glance at the steering wheel, find the correct button, indicate! Every. Single. Time. It will be interesting to see if Tesla persist with this approach, personally that single thing would put me off even taking one for a test drive.
I was born in Michigan. We know our cars have a gender, so it's amazed to hear you. Call your car, Bruce, good on you brother. The Highlander it was Lars that recommended your podcast to me. The Highlander.😊 Will you be at our Tesla event in USA Michigan in June?😊❤

I absolutely love your excitement. I can definitely notice the sound in your Model 3 compared to the new Highland. I have the 2018 RWD version and i've always been bothered by the noise. Luckily, i play music all the time so I don't notice it as much. Im thinking of upgrading in the next couple of years. Either a 3/Y or maybe get an S if they do a refresh in 2025/2026
I blast music most of the time too! It’s so weird how loud an ICE car is, yet how quiet mine is, yet how much more quieter the new M3 is?! Teslas might get so quiet in the future we’ll hear our hearts racing!
looks fantastic, though id imagine a big roundabout with those indicators is gonna be a struggle! still absolutely want one. Never buy brand new cars though so maybe in a year or so when depreciation has kicked in! - ps your 'peculiar style' is bloody great!
A big roundabout shouldn't be an issue because you don't need to turn the wheel all that much (greater radius). You obviously need to turn the wheel more on a smaller roundabout, but you'd get used to it.
Man it was needed. There was no way the old model could compete with the 2023 upgrades that all the other manufacturers have released. The cult of Tesla means that there just isn’t many people who want to personalize them but there’s loads of aftermarket available now from sleek hidden heads up displays to giant ones and programmable buttons and stalks.
Yeah all other manufacturers without over the air updates, supercharger networks , full on gaming integration, superb sound system, range efficiency. 🤦♂️ price is the only reason you wouldn’t buy even a first generation model 3 👀 above other manufacturers
About performance, I wonder if the demo had chill mode on. I remember years ago when my wife and I were testing driving one and chill mode was on. Otherwise, great video! Thanks!
Yes, that’s been suggested, but in the video you can see when I adjust the steering to sport, the acceleration is on standard. Just testimony to the battery chemistry of original 2170s I think
Thank you! What nobody knows is there was lots more info I spoke off... but that new microphone failed spectacularly so I had to cut loads of bits!!! Grrr 😂 Still, glad you liked it! 👍🏼
It's funny as i did a test drive a couple of days ago.....and i massively overestimated the new Tesla Model 3!, but i'm coming from a 2022 M3P so have had a lot of the 'upgrades' already compared to pre 2021. I found it a bit underwhelming tbh, I expected too much i guess. Compared to the outgoing model the differences are not that big, its more of an incremental upgrade...if anything the tangible difference is similar to the facelift from a 2019 to a 2021. The best and only real things that are improved are the seats and ride quality. That is noticeably better, not massively but definitely a nice improvement - but a chunk of that is down to the relatively soft tyres and 18" vs 20". The rest is pretty much all the same, although some downgrades as far as I'm concerned are the stalk removal (of course) and the lack of ultrasonic sensors. The steering also feels lighter, even in sport - personal preference but i like heavier steering, this might just be because it RWD model and i'm comparing against a performance. As a reminder the 2021 facelift vs a 2019/2020, gave you : Electric boot/trunk, front acoustic glass, black exterior trims, matrix led headlights (not enabled still), heat pump, faster AMD media processor (2022 models), higher res/quality screen, better build quality (shanghai), better ride quality,, better noise insulation, dual phone chargers and higher quality centre console. The 2024 improves on some of these areas still but not massively, if anything i'd argue the diff btwn a 2019 and a 2022 is slightly more tangible than a 2022 to the new 2024 (outside of more obvious exterior styling differences) If you are coming from a pre-2021 facelift or this is your first Tesla, then assuming the lack of stalks is a non issue for you, then it is a really nice and still arguably the best EV in this price segment....not worth the upgrade from a 2021 onwards though.
Fair enough, but I politely disagree. There are many improvements & upgrades, too many for me to mention in this video (but have spoke of them in my previous upgraded Model 3 vids) 10% more range, ventilated seats, rear screen, ambient lighting, better looks inside & out, noticeable ride comfort & soundproofing, larger boot/trunk, doors close with a lovely thud now... plus many other things. I'd say that's quite a difference personally. Perhaps the performance Model when that's released might wow you a little more? Thanks for your comments though 👍🏼
@@TeslaJigsaw Oh there are plenty of little bits, but they're mainly just that - little bits. Outside of the 2 main things mentioned, seats and ride quality/NVH, there isn't much else that is really a tangible benefit, some of that may change as software improves and utilises HW4 - but anything like that is in 'Tesla Time'.....i'm still waiting for my auto wipers to be at least half as good as what i had in my first car - a 2005 VW Golf. Boot is no larger btw, same interior size and opening as measured on a few other channels. The rest is a big upgrade from a pre-facelift, but point i was making is it's an overall small/incremental upgrade from the outgoing facelift model......there are 2 main upgrades and the rest is mainly a few gimmicks (interior ambient led strip) and a few styling tweaks (which are subjective on if they're better) The performance version is rumoured to be quite a significant upgrade, hopefully so as the performance model never differentiated itself enough imo.
@@waynerussell6401 I don't know why people don't understand the term 'tangible'...100% parts could be changed, but if 90% looks the same with the same or similar function then tangible difference is small. Tesla saving money doesn't really excite me, considering the sale price hasn't moved much neither.
@@TeslaJigsaw I Agree with @blower1 I drove my 2023 RWD to the showroom and then drove the Highland version over the exact same ground immediately for a good comparison. Before I continue It's not like I have buyers remorse I am genuinely looking for a second EV for my wife and this was in contention. The ride was SLIGHTLY better over bumps - not a world of difference to the old model, the cabin was SLIGHTLY quieter not very much different. The handling is slightly worse in high speed corners, the ambient lighting is meh take it or leave it, as is the interior finish, it's different to the outgoing but doesn't excite. I'm not in the back seat so as I driver I don't care what's back there in terms of screens. The ventilated seats were noisy and pretty underwhelming in performance (it was 39 C/ 102F ) - obviously better than nothing compared to the old model but probably the worst ventilated versions I have experienced. The trunk/boot has no real extra usable space - the lid is a lightly different shape and they are counting the space between the speaker mounts so unless you are carrying a liquid or a something that conforms to the shape it's no different. Now I'm no luddite but the removal of the stalks in Australia (mainly the indicator) are a disaster - I spent almost an hour persevering with the buttons, in anything but ideal conditions they are a complete fumble fest - it's not just roundabouts where you need to signal both in and out, several times I needed to do a quick right, then left within 60ft/20m or vice versa - the buttons end up upside down on the other side of the wheel - at an impossible angle to activate with your left thumb - I couldn't wait to get out and leave it behind. The doors have a nicer sound yes - is this a tangible benefit? - debatable, I wouldn't pay extra for this feature. And looks are subjective but I prefer the old model i.imgur.com/Se8v6tX.jpg
Thank you. Entertaining and thorough video! Do you know if the white paint is different than the previous white paint? Everyone complained the dirt stuck to this paint and it scratched easier.
Thanks! I believe it’s the same pearl white that is on my 4.5 year old model 3. I’ve been through the car wash 100 times and found the paint to be excellent personally. Zero scratches, just a few stone chips on the front which is to be expected

Yes, the WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) replaces the NEDC (Not even damn close!) both of which are rather optimistic for the full range of any vehicle. I believe EPA range is more realistic, which is what's used in the USA. Plus wheel choice makes a difference to range, as shown on Tesla's website
@@TeslaJigsaw 😂 I see what you mean.. And here we thought the EPA was overly optimistic, then WLTP shows up lol What is the official range on the long range by the WLTP? Here it’s 341 with 18 inch wheel covers, 305 with the 19 inch option

Yeah they could at least texture them differently so you can tell them apart by feel
In the 80s cars that did a similar thing had the Center of the wheel not move

I really enjoy your channel Will. Thank you!!! Had my test drive the other day and compared to my 2021 55kw M3 SR LFP (which was pre-nerf on the power train), I feel the same as you; Absolutely love it but I’ll be saving for a long range and continue enjoying my childish love of acceleration :)
Thanks so much! Glad I’m not the only one 😂
I was undecided, but you sold me!
Hilarious, and very informative review. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks 🙏

Fantastic! Which one did you get? And what do you think of it?
@@TeslaJigsaw Ordered LR but changed to SR don’t do the miles or distances now. Loved my first M3 drive better than Y but this one is really nice. So much nicer. Nice to hear! Enjoy @@michaelsummers9579
Yep, when the time comes, LR it is (maybe Ludicrous!) 😉
Great review dude! Enjoyed that. I’ve always been a massive fan of the pearlescent white. But that ultra red, is simply stunning. Might actually twist my arm 😂 If only they were all free colours!
I think I’ve landed on White as my favourite (as stunning as the red is!)
$2000 more for red.
@@TeslaJigsaw. Me too!
I want the Ultra Red. We only just started getting that color in the US. Of course it's the most expensive 🙃
Tesla’s done a great job with the new Model 3. It feels a quality product and I love the sleek exterior and minimal interior with the ambient lighting. It’s very refined and quiet on the road. I live in Thailand and my partner has just ordered one which we’ll get in two months. Very exciting!
Wonderful video of your thoughts on the new upgrade. I'll need to take a test drive soon.
Thank you 🙏
It is a stunning car, I’ve been driven in one but I’ll definitely need to test drive it myself. Red will always be my favourite colour 😍

Good choice!
Great commentary on the new model 3. Looking forward to getting mine in the US.
Oh, I'm so jealous - the White one is stunning! Hope you get yours soon! 🤞
Really enjoyed that video! We test drove one yesterday. Like you, I was in love before I got out of Tesla showroom 😂 Wow, what a car! We are getting one asap 👌
Nice! Which one are you going for?
My head says just go for the rear wheel drive. My heart wants the dual motor!
Thanks so much! I’d love to hear how you get on with the new one? Hope it works for you 👍
Thanks for making me laugh today, easy to indicate and reverse park 😂 great car end of! Haters can walk away and invest in Toyota….
I'm confused, the range shows 341 for a Long range model in the US and 272 for a Standard range model with the 18" wheels
Range is measured differently depending on the Country. the WLTP here in the UK is very optimistic!
He is confused. The lfp is 272 and the nmc is 341. With 18 inch wheels
Red, grey or white. Would love that the model 3 had an optional yoke as Model X. The stokes, not a problem that they are gone.
Good job mate. I just ordered a 2024 model 3 RWD in 🇨🇦 I like your comment about "Luddite's and their stalks. Embrace the future". I totally agree. I can't believe the fuss about this. There has been no stalks on the pricer models S and X for a while...
True! Enjoy your new wheels 👌
Does the lightbar reflect off the windshield? might get annoying after long term ownership
I asked someone here in the comments who owns one, they said no, as it has a lip above it to stop reflection. It also auto dims, and can be turned off
Bought mine without a test drive.
Thanks a lot! Which colour though? 🤔
Grate review final someone confirm indicating is not an issue, I have driven the new M3 and indicating becomes after 60 second much butter than ever before and using the old version becomes odd now.
I didn’t knock it till I tried it. Actually loved the buttons, it was fun!
Came for the review. Stayed for the indicator skills.
Some of the things look genuinely good but for me reliable cruise control is a must so probably better with options that use a real radar.

Thank you! best guess, I'd assume the M2 will be available in the UK end of 2025
these cars are getting more popular here in Bangkok...
Here in spain its the same price but in euros. Making it £34102. Love your enthusiasm
Thanks! 🙂
Bladder range! 😂 I feel your pain.
Good review.
Glance at the steering wheel, find the correct button, indicate! Every. Single. Time.
It will be interesting to see if Tesla persist with this approach, personally that single thing would put me off even taking one for a test drive.
Take one out and try it! So many people who have bought one are just fine with the ‘game controller’ buttons.. certainly different - but fun!
Lars is awesome! I had the pleasure of running into him for breakfast at a hotel, and spent the day chatting to him at Fully Charged Live in Farnborough! I'd flippin love come to the US again... One day when I'm a successful TH-camr and have the funds! 👍
FYI the SR has LFP batteries
looks fantastic, though id imagine a big roundabout with those indicators is gonna be a struggle! still absolutely want one. Never buy brand new cars though so maybe in a year or so when depreciation has kicked in! - ps your 'peculiar style' is bloody great!
Thanks! 😂👍
A big roundabout shouldn't be an issue because you don't need to turn the wheel all that much (greater radius). You obviously need to turn the wheel more on a smaller roundabout, but you'd get used to it.
I hate that they didn't do a hatch boot, they already have that Model Y mechanism, just shrink it to fit the Model 3.
Good point... I wonder why they didn't? Other than having to redesign the structure of the rear end. Personally, still bags of room for my family of 4
Hope so thanks TJ 😊trying to keep my 17 yr old ice car running until then as the m3 and Y are just a bit to big.
Ever thought of a job on Tesla sales team? ;) That new red colur is the one for me. Thanks for a great review
It crossed my mind! 😂 The red is Stunning
A good video … You made the changes really clear.
Thank you! What nobody knows is there was lots more info I spoke off... but that new microphone failed spectacularly so I had to cut loads of bits!!! Grrr 😂 Still, glad you liked it! 👍🏼
The Nova wheels are gorgeous
(I’m so fed up with the plastic trims on my MY ! )
I love the Nova's too... (and secretly hate the MY's!) although these new photon ones look much better
Front Camera is missing, thats my biggest complaint 😢
Awesome news
The more people that try the indicators , the more we can put the negativity to bed..
Like everything Tesla related… that may take some time 😂
Sat in Tesla Northampton charging. I know that backdrop… 😂
The 2024 improves on some of these areas still but not massively, if anything i'd argue the diff btwn a 2019 and a 2022 is slightly more tangible than a 2022 to the new 2024 (outside of more obvious exterior styling differences)
If you are coming from a pre-2021 facelift or this is your first Tesla, then assuming the lack of stalks is a non issue for you, then it is a really nice and still arguably the best EV in this price segment....not worth the upgrade from a 2021 onwards though.
The rest is a big upgrade from a pre-facelift, but point i was making is it's an overall small/incremental upgrade from the outgoing facelift model......there are 2 main upgrades and the rest is mainly a few gimmicks (interior ambient led strip) and a few styling tweaks (which are subjective on if they're better)
The performance version is rumoured to be quite a significant upgrade, hopefully so as the performance model never differentiated itself enough imo.
Over 50% of the parts are changed! Compared to a model refresh from OEMs it is a massive change. Now a third cheaper to make than at launch...
The quietness is so evident in this video it seems that you are in a movie studio with fake scenery rolling by.
Ha ha, busted!

Thanks! I believe it’s the same pearl white that is on my 4.5 year old model 3. I’ve been through the car wash 100 times and found the paint to be excellent personally. Zero scratches, just a few stone chips on the front which is to be expected
@@TeslaJigsaw I was told not to go through a car wash. My husband has been carefully hand washing the car. I ll tell him we can go through the car wash now!

I'm confused about the range, because the standard range in the US is 272 I think, and the LR AWD is 341?
Yes, the WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) replaces the NEDC (Not even damn close!) both of which are rather optimistic for the full range of any vehicle. I believe EPA range is more realistic, which is what's used in the USA. Plus wheel choice makes a difference to range, as shown on Tesla's website
@@TeslaJigsaw 😂 I see what you mean..
And here we thought the EPA was overly optimistic, then WLTP shows up lol

The range for RWD is 344 miles, and mine shows 275 miles. Maybe I give it a few weeks
Hmm 🤔
I wonder when will Tesla move all cars to 48V architecture.
As I understand it, all future vehicles from Tesla will be 48V, but won't be changing their current line up
The standard rage has become half a second slower to sixty the last couple of years. Might be what you felt
It felt like more than that tbh… but yep, so the numbers say
“Why you beeping at me for?” Said every Tesla owner every day. Never owned a car that beeps so much at nothing. It’s dangerous, it desensitizes you to warning beeps by flooding you with so many that you don’t know what the hell is going on and ignore most of it.
No, I just hadn’t adjusted the ‘early warning sensitivity’ in settings. My Model 3 rarely beeps - unless it’s doing me a favour and warning me as it has before when saving me from an accident. I’d rather it be more cautious than not!
Good vid. Is yours a standard range? I wonder if there was another mode or setting to get the same snap.
Thanks! Mine is a Standard range Plus... and I did have it on the right setting, which is just called 'Standard' (not on chill mode!)

No turn signal lever, only buttons on the front of the rotating steering wheel doesn’t show intelligence for design, but form over function. A driver should not have to adapt to a car, kind of like a bicyclist adapting to a unicycle.

It varies around the World depending on the range measurement type. I’m going from Tesla’s website here in the UK
