Yes it really shows the advantage a mid-engine layout has and would represent the kind of driving we all do on the back roads here in California or Japan. I think the Cayman is such a great bargain in the sports car territory. I love this little car.
It’s great after more than 15 years of Hot Version Touge, they’re beginning to release European cars as samples of world category cars on the touge. I hope as a classic touge special they will release an AE/TE Chassis special with modified/concerted engines. In a Touge 200 class special.
Most famous circuits to do test drive have long distance and alot of long straight to max the power... but small circuit tend to have less straight and more corner. Power is less important than the stability and power delivery in small circuit, the car simply doesnt have the time to reach it peak power.
@@和也兄貴 Have to disagree as I see even modern sedans doing big speed on interstates with complete stability up to 150mph and higher performance in corners and acceleration than old sports cars. Modern examples: Regular 3 series turbo 6, C class V8, Charger V8, etc. That's before even considering their respective high performance derivatives (M, AMG, SRT). Only issue I have with new cars is weight.
Great to see the Porsches getting a run, Cayman S has a very capable chassis, and I am surprised that the power and weight, pretty much even out between both cars. Cayman S is very much the track car

cayman is perfect for those twisty mountain roads, it's more nimble than 911 and more balanced, but i think 911 will win if they compete in an open circuit, also branding-wise, 911 is more luxurious
so my suspicions were true, the cayman is the better car but in more powerful versions it gets nerfed by long gearing and a shorter wheelbase for such power (gt4)
The wheel base being shorter actually benefits the cayman with higher agility and better handling compared to the 911, but yes they nerfed it with longer gears and less powerfull engines.
Honestly I'd prefer they nerf the horsepower of the Cayman but just give us the shorter gearing, it doesn't need a lot of power to be enjoyable. Hope an aftermarket company makes a new gearset for the Cayman!

初代ケイマンは「カレラより速くなっちゃう」という理由でLSDが標準装備されませんでしたからね。素のバランスがやはり良いのでしょう

718は確かに速い。981で一緒に走ってても高速域での加速が全然違う感覚がある。ただやっぱりあの不等長のバラバラ音は好みが分かれますね。
モデルによっては馬力差もあるかもだけど、
初期加速の強さは718のターボのおかげだよね。
でもご存じの通り、音がまるでダメ。
あと実を言うと、フレーム強度は718より981の方が数千ニュートン高い(ドイツ本国で話題になってた)
多分718は多少コストカットもされてるみたいですよ
