@@kookie_krissy6728 you're right actually! Whipping the egg whites before putting them into the batter give the pancakes a fluffy texture. It's hard to do at first but once you get the hang of it, your pancakes turn out amazing

@@katia3914 oooh okay, that's interesting and explains a lot haha In Eastern Europe, only the very thin kind, which are similar to crepe, are called pancakes. We have totally different words for thicker so-called pancakes, which I think in the USA used to be called griddle cakes or flapjacks in order to set them apart from the thin variety.
In Europe they really don’t specialize in your classic American buttermilk pancakes. Everyone really eats different variations of crepes, or blini really just depends where you are. Doesn’t mean you can’t find them, but they won’t be like your American pancake.
@@himaririku5289 european pancakes are very large and thin so that they are easy to fold over. we do have thicker pancakes, too, but not nearly as often as european pancakes.
@@allia8340 Crepes are even thinner and made from a different dough than pancakes. The pancakes from Starbucks are actually cheaper than the ones from McDonald's lol. Because Starbucks sells them for 1,1 € per pancake, whilst McDonald's sells them for 1,15 € per piece.
Wha? The pancakes are so woah- I’m Japanese and in japan we have about maybe 4 big pancakes maybe like the size of a plate that holds your cup? (I’m not so good with naming things) and it costs about 100 something to 500 something yen I’m not completely shre
Omg the fluffy ones look amazing
😭💗 no wonder they're delicious
It tried to make them at home but it's realllyyy hard to get that fluffy. But whipping egg white and putting them in your pancakes is really delicious

Stop, this so so relatable. I eat pancakes that are thin and as big as the pan, and I put in jam or chocolate and roll it over.
But most people call them crepes even tho I call them pancakes
