You gave me a better visual of how it works compared to the documentation. I was confused and wasn't sure how to apply the terrain to my walls, floor and ceiling. I'm using a tileset in a style very similar to that of the Zelda Oracle games. Every time I tried to set it up, it came out as a random mess and my brush was massive for some reason. After watching your video and a bit more trial and error, I managed to get it right. Although, the only issue is the shape fill tool isn't working for some strange reason. That still comes out as a random mess. Also, Ctrl ernlarges the brush instead of decreasing it, but that's fine.
This isn't working for me at all. I select it exactly like you do except when i brush gets all glitchy and wont complete the tiles or fill in the edges properly.
beside the ui changes still a very accurate tutorial. Works as intended. You may have to adjust the tileareas you are selecting for a terrain, if your tileset isnt formatted like this one.
Ok... It's been 4 years, but... what you need to do is edit the tileset. When in edit mode, you will see the Terrain icon in the toolbar. Click that instead and then continue as with the rest of the tutorial :)
How would this work with isometric walls? I just want to draw the walls and corners sections according to which way I'm dragging the terrain brush on the map. I'm utterly confused as to whether this is even possible.
how do i make a 1x1 tile like a wall work to figure out the corner and such? its a 16 tile wall with corners and 4-way intersection,3 ways and ends? but tiles go to the edge. I want to be able to brush it like terrains but cant figure out how
I think a major problem here, and why people are having glitches, is that it requires your tileset be drawn a certain way - with dirt around the sides. For tiles that are drawn where the the path extends all the way to the edgs, this does't work. When you define a terrain with the little curved shape tool it's defining the INTERIOR area, and that only works if you tilesets look like the one in the video.
What if the picture does not line up properly in the grid in the lower right corner? Referring to when you imported the tile set during the first two minutes of the tutorial.
Hey I made my own tile set but tiled keeps making the image darker than it should be, is there a setting I can change or should I just make my image really bright
I import my tileset, set the pixels the way I like it so something like a chest will occupy 1 square, no spacing. When I stamp it on my map, it will occupy only a quarter of a grid square, anchored to the bottom left corner. How can I make it occupy the whole grid square ?
Most likely it's resolution is off, say you had the grid set to 64x64 and the chest or whatever is 16x16 then it will only take up 1/4 of that grid square
I like your stuff usually but this isn't good. This is overly slow and confusing. You don't even do alot of the things right. U STILL HAVE THE SPACING IN THE TILESET MAN. The fact this is decade old and still less useless than the actual docs and guide is amazing though....truly amazing...this is definitely my top 10 for worst documented program.

If you got trouble with your terrains, you can also use Shift+Click. It's not as convenient but at least it works if it's too glitchy.
Thank you so much! It was so tricky for me to figure out how to use this terrain tool

Oh my God!! Eye opener, doing this by hand took so long 😂

How do you make such awesome looking tiles ? Mine are always boring square-ish tiles
Edit terrain information isn't available, why is this?

I'm just wondering if we can insert animated Gif Images as backgrounds, can you do a tutorial on Image layers?
+Morgan Kerr Nope sorry, you cant use animated gifs.
th-cam.com/video/mJZQabPyTHo/w-d-xo.html is what you are looking for I believe.
+Morgan Kerr Oops, sorry wrong link. th-cam.com/video/ORhC48773bw/w-d-xo.html
