    I have a potential video idea: Pokémon that shouldn’t be in their regional Pokedexes. Example: Beldum isn’t actually native to Hoenn. Can’t be found anywhere except as a gift from Steven.

    Okay, so there are a couple of details in the legend of the twin heroes that I think are worth mentioning here. According to dialogue from Drayden and Ghetsis, the twin heroes were the ones who founded the Unova region, bringing together "a world full of warring people". Afterwards, they had their disagreement over truth and ideals, and the original dragon split into Reshiram and Zekrom (with Kyurem left over). Their fight "sundered the region in two". If you split the Unova region in half, whether vertically or horizontally, the Relic Castle and Abyssal Ruins are on opposite halves of the region. So, it makes perfect sense for the Relic Castle and the Abyssal Ruins to be the castles that each respective brother used during their conflict.
    It's said that the Relic items, found in the Abyssal Ruins, were created around 3,000 years ago, i.e., the time of the great Kalos war. Perhaps, then, Unova was founded around this time - the reason the people of the region were warring may have been because they were participating in the Kalos war. After it ended, the twin heroes took charge and created Unova, building what would later become the Abyssal Ruins as their castle. As a newly created civilization, they would need to create currency, and with the establishment of civilization comes a rise in the creation of decorative objects like bracelets and vases and statues and crowns for their new kings. Thus, the creation of the Relic items.
    There are a couple of problems with the idea of the Abyssal Ruins belonging to the twin heroes, though. There’s only one Relic Crown in the Abyssal Ruins, and the inscriptions all refer to a single king. For the Relic Crown problem, I think the answer can be found in your observation that the Relic Crown looks like N’s crown. Maybe N’s crown is also a relic: while one king’s crown was left in the castle when it sank, the other crown was passed down through the king’s descendants. How did N end up with it, then? The answer is simple: Ghetsis is a descendant of one of the heroes, and he’s the one who crowned N.
    [Quick theory time! On the top floor of the Abyssal Ruins there are a few ciphers that can’t be translated. In B2W2, Zinzolin’s translation notes translate these as a series of black dots. The final inscription reads “The great King ••••••••” but the number of dots differs depending on the translation. It’s speculated that this name is Ghetsis’s last name Harmonia, as it has the same number of letters in each language as there are dots in that language’s translation. Presumably this king is either one of the heroes or one of their descendants, so if Ghetsis carries the name, he must also be a descendant of the hero. It’s an odd detail that N and Ghetsis have a last name at all, as most Pokémon characters don’t have last names. It makes a lot more sense if that last name is included because it’s the name of the twin heroes. Harmonia being the name of the heroes could explain why Ghetsis says that N isn’t worthy of the name Harmonia after N loses to the player, and why N and Ghetsis are so obsessed with recreating the legend of the heroes in the first place.]
    The inscriptions in the Abyssal Ruins praise a "great king" who accepted all and acted with love. As this wouldn't really apply to either of the two heroes, the inscriptions must have been added later, describing a later king. (I don't think it's likely that they were describing a prior king, since Unova didn't exist before the twin heroes.) In addition, the Relic Castle is apparently the ruins of an ancient city that was at its peak 2,500 years ago. So - the castles couldn't have been destroyed 3,000 years ago when the ultimate weapon was fired, because then there would be no castle for the people to inscribe praises to their king on the walls of, and no flourishing civilization 500 years later.
    Except...I feel like I’m forgetting something…oh, yeah. The building of the ultimate weapon led to split timelines, one in which it was fired - creating Mega Evolution - and one in which it was never fired, in which there is no Mega Evolution. The Kalos games, obviously, take place in the Mega timeline, but all the games in which we’ve seen the Unova region don’t. Therefore, the ultimate weapon hitting Reversal Mountain and causing it to erupt didn’t happen in the past of the Unova we’ve seen. However, it’s still possible that this happened in the Mega timeline.
    Bringing the split timelines into this theory actually helps me answer a question that I’ve been asking ever since the split timelines hypothesis was proposed: how did the war end in the timeline where the ultimate weapon wasn’t fired? The twin heroes of Unovan legend stepped in and, with the power of the original dragon, they were able to stop the war, and from there create Unova.
    I’d definitely be interested to see in a Unova remake if the legend of the twin heroes played out differently in the Mega timeline.

      Wait no. Its possible we wont get new unova games at least not in the infinity energy timeline. Because the ultimate weapon was fired and unova doesnt exist anymore. In the Infinity timeline two things are possible. Perhaps the two dragons were at what is now the mansion in kalos. And they got turned to stone. Or they flew over kalos mourning of the lose of the heroes and the statues made at some later point.
      I wont know until we see unova again

      Black and White state that there was a war in Unova, and a part of that caused a forest fire in which Cobalion, Virizion and Terrakion fought the fire and helped Pokemon in the forest. This is a strong piece of evidence that Unova was also in a war, and it makes sense that it would be the same one fought by Kanto.

    The thing I'm getting is that Melmetal should have a connection to the war in Kalos' history.
    Yes, Unova did have a *civil war* between the brother princes of the long past royalty, a fight between truth and ideals some years after the rift caused a legendary dragon Pokemon to split into Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem being the remaining husk.

  • @khazm2451

    I think the swords of justice BW dex entries reference the war.
    Terrakkion’s Black entry:
    This Pokémon came to the defense of Pokémon that had lost their homes in a war among humans.
    Virizion’s Black entry:
    This Pokémon fought humans in order to protect its friends. Legends about it continue to be passed down.
    Cobalion’s Black entry:
    This legendary Pokémon battled against humans to protect Pokémon. Its personality is calm and composed.
    Cobalion’s B2W2 entry:
    It has a body and heart of steel. It worked with its allies to punish people when they hurt Pokémon
    Virizion and Cobalion’s entries don’t mention a war, but they mention fighting with humans, whereas Terrakion’s directly references the war, but mentions one where the war was among humans.
    Perhaps they are two different things that happened, or maybe among means between humans and Pokémon.

    Toby, there WAS indeed a war in Unova, between the two brothers who ruled over Unova with the help of the original dragon - they fought against each other after disagreeing on how to rule over the region - one of them was led by ideals, the other one by the truth and this disagreement caused the original dragon to split into Reshiram and Zekrom!

  • @RavenZombieX
    @RavenZombieX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Ive thought about some of this before. Except the unova we know is not from the mega universe, so the weapon wasnt fired. I could see a story with Lysandre vs Ghetsis throwing in N and AZ. Say Kalos and Unova had a war, kalos fires the weapon at unova, and the original dragon sacrificed itself to protect unova. This is what really split it into 3 parts

  • @theloruleanhistorian
    @theloruleanhistorian 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    P.S. there was a war in Unova. A few, actually. The twin heroes helped to end one, creating a unified nation (Unova). But their children started one, which led to devastation by Reshiram and Zekrom's fighting. The Relic items were dated to 3,000 years ago - but it's said that Relic Castle was "flourishing" 2,500 years ago. Dragonspiral Tower is also at least that old. So it could be possible that the Kalos war was with the seat of power where Abyssal Ruins now stand…and then civilization recouped, leading to the creation of Relic Castle?

    Really interesting theory! Relating to the ultimate weapon, I have a question and a theory starting with "why does Mewtwo have mega stones?" At first, I just sort of assumed they were man-made, but seeing as they appear in places not associated with mew or Mewtwo in the wild, it just seemed off. Then I saw some videos on the Mewtwo/ Ditto theory and this theory kind of sparked in my brain: what if mew and ditto are connected instead? Mew may just be a more matured version of ditto, similar to diancie and carbink. This would explain why these connections exist, as well as why there's only one Mew canonically since Ditto can breed with (almost) any other pokemon, it would seem to have the DNA of all other pokemon within it, so it's maturing would likely keep that trait but improve upon it.
    So, where does Mewtwo's mega stones come in? I think that Mewtwo may be a secondary form of Mew brought on by extreme stress such as a near-apocalyptic war in the pokemon world, or a newly created clone of Mew being subjected to intense trauma at the hands of team rocket.
    Sorry for the long comment, but I just found it odd that this pokemon that shouldn't have been around during the war would have a mega evolution, and thought that maybe it could lead to other implications for the pokemon world.

    • @maggieent3215
      @maggieent3215 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i would like to preface this by saying that long comments should be acceptable.
      Sound theory!
      There could be two Mewtwo, given the presence of the X and Y stones (why charizard have two, I have no clue), and the two mega evolutions that appear in some of the movies
      The mega mewtwo movie (gen 5, with a prologue where Mewtwo is cloned from a mew according to Bulbapedia) seems to be a retelling of Mewtwo's origins in the mega evolution timeline.
      Ditto has a connection to Melmetal and Meltan too...

    • @lifelessons7401
      @lifelessons7401 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The thing is that there WAS indeed a war in Unova long time ago - the two brothers who possessed Reshiram and Zekrom fought against each other in order to determine who of them would reign supreme - one of them pursued the path of ideals the other one the path of the truth - this caused the original dragon to split up into Reshiram and Zekrom in the first place because of their diasgreements on how to rule over Unova. The fires caused by their battles made many pokémon homeless and in general caused destruction overall. That's when the swords of justice appeared - they rescued the fleeing pokémon from the fires and upon helping the weak they came to the conclusion that humans were evil (sorta) and since then avoided them, showed themselves hostile against them - until you, as the player, show them, that not all humans are inherently bad and that not everything is just black and white :)
      EDIT: a nice-to-know--fact! One of the brothers (depending on the versions) founded the old civilization where the remnants of the Relic Castle can be explored! Hence why you can find either the Light Stone or the Dark Stone there during the main story!

    I think that the Unova region was in a time of crisis because of the division in philosophies of the two princes and because of a series of natural disasters going on (floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, drought-and don't start thinking of connections to Hoenn), rather than there actually being some sirt of civil war. I would date this to a little bit after the Kalos war-which I'm pretty sure was in the Kalos region itself-because of Dragonspiral Tower.
    With the amount of knowledge we have about AZ's ultimate weapon, we cannot be sure exactly how it caused the devastation it did, or what form that devastation took. It's possible it didn't create any sort of impact crater or similar, or that if it did, it wouldn't just create a valley or something.

    You said Melmetal can seemingly produce iron from nothing correct? Perhaps this is the original cause of the Kalos war. Think about it whoever controlled the local population of Melmetal would have a seemingly endless supply of iron for weapons and what not, with the end result being the near total destruction of the Melmetal population and the remaining ones going into hiding to protect their species. Then perhaps in the midst of this war two twin brothers (potentially royalty or perhaps just revered by others) were tired of the brutality of the two Kalos factions and led a small exodus of people out of the region to a new home, seeing their bravery the original dragon chose them as it's masters and created the unova region for them and their people. After some time of peace the two become complacent in their roles of heroes/leaders and start to bicker with each other about the positive factors of truths and ideals, this leading to the splitting of the dragon and the creation of reshiram, zekrom, and kyurem.

The kalos king fired the ultimate weapon which hit the western part of galar which destroyed the parts of the galar region which are wales and Ireland were destroyed. That’s why the map of galar only shows England and Scotland. Mega stones then rained down on the hoenn region and the rest is history.

Did AZ use it as an intimidation weapon rather than an actual weapon? he fired it into the sky and let it fall randomly? he was angry at the time wasn't he? wouldn't he have fired it directly at his brother's army? The lack of an impact site can be credited to it happened 3000 years. this isn't an asteroid impact ya know. the only reason a hole even exists where the weapon landed in XY is because it landed on the hole where the Ultimate weapon came out of. it's quite possible the Kalos impact site is already covered in greenery. or it's possible that giant crystal sun dial was carved from the crystallized energy at the impact site.

    One other interesting thing to note is that Kalos and Unova are the only two Pokémon regions with a total of one Mega Evolution. What’s significant about those two megas? They’re both fairy types and Fairy type Pokémon are strong against the dragon type Pokémon that Unova is known for. Maybe when the Ultimate Weapon was fired, a balancing affect was initiated by the power of Xerneas and Yveltal that led to Diancie and Audino gaining mega evolutions rather than their peers. Unova being the closest region to where the ultimate weapon was fired might also be the reason for why it appears to be more negatively affected by the weapon’s blast in terms of a lack of many mega evolutions. Whatever the case, everything in this video points towards future generations having a lot more connections to the Unova region.

    We know that the Ultimate Weapon somehow created Mega Evolution, what if the reason that only certain Pokémon can Mega Evolve is that the Ultimate Weapon turned fossils of the ancestors of those Pokémon into Mega Stones? If the Mega Stones only work for Pokémon genetically related to the fossil it was formed from then it could also help explain why a few Pokémon have 2 different Mega Stones like Mewtwo and Charizard. If Mega Stones were once fossils then the Ultimate Weapon might have actually created the Mega Stones when it was fired and when Floette was brought back to life not all the Infinity Energy was used and that excess Infinity Energy is still trying to bring something back when the Ultimate Weapon was fired, with Mega Stones being the result.

    I think I got it. Pokemon X= Reshiram beat Zekrom and then they sealed Zekrom away and the twin that had zekrom then moved and conquered a weak region known as kalon and gained their resources, then to get revenge and end the war, created the ultimate weapon and ended the war but with also weakening Reshiram and ended the war, Pokemon Y: Zekrom beat Reshiram and then Reshiram was sealed away, the Twin that had Reshiram then retreated and conquered Kalos and got revenge by creating the ultimate weapon and destroying Zekrom and ending the war Now before your say how can there be two AZ’s.. well....they’re twins aren’t they?

    Problem is the Kalos region has so few native pokemon because of the use of the weapon kalos has tons of native pokemon granted some pokemon from other regions are clearly native to kalos (the ralts line is almost certainly from kalos) Also Hoenn is under the imppression Rayquaza played a role in the creation of mega evolution rather then the war and given kalos seems to be the only area with massive depopulation of pokemon and we never see the beam fired from the weapon curve towards another region its likely the kalos war was fought in kalos alone. Az Killing almost everything in the region was enough to stop the war. as who's gonna argue with the omnicidal maniac. you want to be king? fine be king of the ashes.
    It's more likely the wars started during a period of massive upheaval similar to how the bronze age collapse happened roughtly 3000 years ago on earth and it led to several civilzations just falling apart.

      In regards to Rayquaza being a key in the creation of Mega Evolution: For one, Rayquaza is the only Mega that doesn't use a Mega Stone, it ate a meteor. The process for Mega Evolution though seems to have been discovered with the bond between the people and Pokemon being the key. Secondly, which is actually pretty interesting, is if I remember rightly the Tower of Mastery people explain that it was in the aftermath of the war that a hero from another land came with a Lucario that introduced Mega Evolution to Kalos. They may have come from Hoenn after they discovered the process from Rayquaza, but the practice just flourished in Kalos due to the number of Mega Stones found in the Kalosian soil.
      Which makes sense because as well known as the practice of Mega Evolution is in Kalos they don't seem to know much about it, which Sycamore was hoping to change. In Hoenn though, they KNOW as its been passed down orally in their different clans (At the least, there's both Draconids and Sootopolitans we know of) and written on their walls. Zinnia talking about Devon being on track to recreating the great sin of 3000 years ago and Wallace mentioning that AZ was the one to plant the great tree in Sootopolis shows that Hoenn has managed to keep in touch with its history better than Kalos might just be because of how devastated the region was after the war. Heck, you only learn the meat of the story from AZ himself and the likely rare books that Lysandre has gathered on the subject found deep in the Lysandre Labs. Sycamore was just psyched to have you talk to someone that knew the Legend of how the mascots are associated with X and Y is because towards the end of the war the figure was seen coming out of the smoke and looked to resemble the letters to the terrified and confused soldiers. That's... pretty vague to 've getting worked up over.
      Just food for thought.

    Pretty strong conclusion、at least to link the regions of Kalos and Unova together.
    Maybe you'd gotten too used to believing in theories、because I'm sure I've also heard about Unova being part of that same war. It also must be why I'd thought Ghetsis was also a descendant of AZ's family although there's not really any evidence or anything in the games that backs that up.
    However when you say "King of Kalos"、I still think he could've been the King of the entire nation of which Kalos is a region、which would make it easier for Unova to end up being involved rather than being the enemy.
    Forgot to mention also that the statues of Reshiram and Zekrom are in Parfum Palace's garden、probably built as a form of apology or peace offering.

    Has anybody tried to do a functional comparison of the wars in pokemon compared to the wars in the real world? Like in pokemon we know there was a war that Lt Surge was part of, we know there was the ancient war that sets up Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. There was the potential Kalos war and Sinnoh War.... Like Kalos' war could be based on any number of real world wars - the 30 year war, the hundred year war, the french revolution. If there was a Sinnoh war it could be based on the feudal times in japan. Surge probably fought in ww2, although that would make him real old. Especially since Japan quit the whole war thing right after so a japanese soldier post ww2 would have simply served in the JSDF.
    You might have to recruit a hardcore japanese otaku to research some of this though. Perhaps Gaijin Goombah...

    My theory is the war is based off ww2 and the region that brings up the most about war is kalos which is based off France if you don’t know much about ww2 japan Germany and Italy where the axis powers (the bad guys) and I think the reason Kanto (which is based off japan) is fighting Johto is because in the games Johto and kanto are connected maybe Johto is Korea or China and in ww2 japan tried to conquer Korea China and other parts of South Asia and nearly Australia and then America interfered (unova) and maybe lt surge battled in the pacific and moved to kanto because it was conquered by unova. And obviously kalos would be at war with Germany and I would like to see if Galar will continue this theory and because Galar is based of the uk we could see more about the war. It would be amazing if we get a German based region in gen 9

His initial idea of the entire concept was as if World War happened in the matter of Japan winning and becoming the most powerful country in the world and then destroying the entire world by default.. they believed in the ability to keep things even yin and yang can't believe that you pan would destroy the world if it was given too much power we felt that Japan was where it needs to be because of its population in science and if one of those were to increase the devastations the entire world would happen.fall out that would last 1000, 3000 year's before it was safe . However mutation would occur to plants and animals causing Pokemon to become what they are. Bringing back Giants AKA Netherlands and a much wider range of biblical text ranging from The Book of Enoch. And the other two books. It's just his way of showing that history will repeat itself. And despite three timelines being created the inevitability is that all three of them will become one eventually Unity. Aka you know if this is the last Pokemon region therefore is region is about peace but at the same time about conquer this is going to be the region that sums up and brings everything together it'll answer more questions about the last Generations than any other generation could have however it will create more questions. Find you will never know personally unless you have some type of faith.

    While it is never explicitly stated that there was a Unova war, there was indeed a "war" between brothers that in the end caused the original dragon to split into Kyurem, Reshiram and Zekrom. whether it was an all out faction war, or just a duel between brothers is never explained.

So, if I am correctly remembering this, there still is a possibility that the Kalos and Unovan wars are one in the same.

  • @TulioKip
    @TulioKip 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a different idea, I would say that the Dragonspiral Tower was the place in which the Original Dragon resided, this is because if you had a full part and PC in Pokemon Black and White. Reshiram or Zekrom would fly to it in order to wait for you to get there, meaning that no matter what version, both have a connection to that place. I believe that the Ultimate Weapon actually hit the Giant Chasm. The evidence for that is its size, not only that but Lacunosa Town is right next to it. The residents of that town specifically said something about a "meteor". But what if it wasn't a meteor at all? Another evidence is how Kyurem look zombified in a way, after the Original Dragon split, Kyurem was left behind as a lifeless body. Remember that the Ultimate Weapon has life-giving properties? That energy could've been used to revive Kyurem intentionally to have a way to permanently end the conflict. Drayden's ancestor could've created the DNA Splicers to be able to restore the Original Dragon so that the powers of Reshiram and Zekrom will all go for one ruler. This would prevent another destructive war from taking place. Also keep in mind that there is a cave in the Giant Chasm, the blast of energy could've melted the metals there and gave them life.

With that taken place, would it also make since that Volcarona took the place of the sun during that time span and that's why the remaining civilians rebuilding their city tried to build a shrine of the Pokemon, which backfired. Volcaronas prolonged presence caused a drought that turned the place into a desert in the middle of a now modernized city?

    I think you're missing a few things about the ultimate weapon. The way I understand it, the ultimate weapon is essentially a tool to construct a philosopher's stone, much the same way its creation is attempted in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It doesn't fire and "hit" somewhere, it siphons life essence from everything in a given radius around itself and pumps that essence into something, in this case being AZ and his Floette , bringing the Pokemon back to life and seemingly granting each of them eternal life. The siphoning of life essence doesn't power the weapon, it IS the weapon, killing countless Pokemon (and possibly people as well) by draining their life. All the energy that wasn't absorbed by AZ and Floette crystallized into stones, with each species' energy becoming their respective mega stone, and possibly human life crystallizing into the key stones. There might be a good video idea in whether the mega stones might be philosopher's stones...

    B2/W2 happen at the same time as X/Y so 3000 years ago works for both. The only difference is that B2/W2 is in the Normal Timeline while X/Y are in the Mega Timeline, so if there was a non-Mega Kalos or a Mega Unova, it would be interesting to see how events played out in different ways. If AZ hadn't built the Life Giving Machine turned Ultimate Weapon, and instead used a different device to end the war; or if in the Mega timeline, AZ did target and hit Reverse Mountain and destroyed the Abyssal Ruins (then a castle), causing the Twin Heroes to reconcile and end their fight and the war as well.

    I swear those Abyssal relic item descriptions are going to kill me. Kalos and Unova are absolutely connected. That royal mansion you visit in Kalos has statues of Zekrom and Reshiram in the garden, as well as Serperior gates guarding it. The first third of Kalos is nothing but references to Unova. The professor only has pictures of Gen 5 Pokemon in his lab and cute Chandelure lamp posts line the streets. I think the games were originally supposed to connect, considering Black and White came out mere months before the 3DS launched and the B2W2 were DS games almost 2 years into the 3DS with features locked behind that system. The 3DS Pokemon models are very high poly and constantly made the system struggle. There's also the 3D Pokedex that originally launched with solely Black and White character models, with different lighting than what we got in the 3DS games. Everything about Kalos feels rushed, and if it was originally a Wii U title before they realized how limited the off screen play was, it would make a lot of sense. There's also that broken down station in Kalos and Unova had the subway system. With all the war and mega lore going on, I'm hoping Sword and Shield bring this to a head.
    Thanks for the video. It's nice to see this brought up again because it feels so awkwardly not talked about when thay 3000 years date is incredibly specific and the Kalos war is tied to a king. Family seems to be the big theme in Gens 5-7. I'm curious to see if that continues into Gen 8. I know Masuda called Platinum the ultimate Pokemon game, and what I think he meant looking back is that it was the end of one era, with Gen 5 marking the new one. Maybe infinite TMs will be the key to all of this. :P
    Edit: What's going on with Looker in ORAS with the amnesia and Mega Stone for Audino, the only Gen 5 Pokemon to get a Mega Evolution? I really do think there's something big Unova is hiding.
