4:08 Says he is going to be vague and go into less detail; Immediately does opportunity cost analysis between fighting Misty and a Hiker vs just Misty. Never change, Scott.
One of my favorite Scott moments was the Raikou video where he goes into agonizing, AGONIZING detail about the damage ranges for Falkner with specific defense stats and how getting at a lower level would be better, only for Pidgey to flinch and it doesn’t matter. This is the content I subscribed for.
I know you said you didn't know how exciting this video would be, but I love that there's an update for everyone that doesn't regularly tune into the streams. As someone that advocated for the Bellsprout line to be used ages back, seeing Victreebel be a truly terrifying head of the pack for so long has made me proud of it. I think even if/when Mewtwo surpasses it, it fought long and hard, and I think it earns respect for that.
Honestly, the fact that it tended to be the Poison-types that led the S-tier is amazing because of the Psychic-type stranglehold people think that type has in Gen 1. Somehow, each S-tier Poison Pokémon brought a new advantage that allows to breeze through the game at x4 speed.
M2 probably will win. 154 special and psychic as a starting move means it can just blaze through the game. However, I think it'll probably be close, because there just isn't that much time left to save pokemon wise.
The feels like a victory lap. We get to see a montoge of our favorites rushing past the goal victoriously. I hope to see more of these round ups in the future.
I'm glad you decided to summarize the improvements that were made on the streams. As somebody who doesn't want to watch the entire streams, this seems like the perfect compromise to show how the routes have been brought up-to-date.
@ScottsThoughtsPokemon smithplays FIXED hitmonchan in his Yellow rom by SWAPPING attack with special n Giving it karate chop (also bruno went from AWFUL to really HARD with his new ACE poliwrath) Bruno is considered to be the SECOND BEST trainer in the rom Also RIP LAPRAS for its bruno struggle session
In a very kind and respectful way, I definitely prefer the more video related content over the streams. And there's a lot people end up missing this way, so videos like these are pretty great.
I like the long form content cause of the narrative you end up creating for yourself regarding your previous history with the Pokémon & what tips & tricks you’ve learned about that Pokémon as you’ve played with it throughout these games. That’s what makes these fun & exciting, it’s showing off the bond you create with your Pokémon whilst getting technical & statistical. It’s also great to see the community growing and helping one another become creative & bring new ideas to the table regarding what can be done with these games.
I am not a fan of watching live streams as much as edited content, so I very much appreciate this video a lot! Also I just wanted to mention I've never payed any attention to the different overlay colors before this video, and I must say the blue one you used for lapras is so visually appealing.
It isn't that we love the long videos with every bit of data available but rather your ability to put it together and make useful information with said data that you put into your play. Well at least for me but i still like the longer stuff because i listen when im at work doing repetitive tasks
Honestly, despite this growing far beyond playing Pokemon, this is also the truest expression of bonding with a Pokemon I have ever seen. Each Pokemon is used to pit against increasingly-powerful trainers, and this corresponds to the idea that Pokemon test your worthiness by seeing if you can handle them and then they become your friend that you overcome increasingly-strong opponents with. It feels like the anime.
This was like an awesome "clean-up" vid. Thoroughly entertaining and a welcome change of pace. You really get to showcase how your skill has improved over time. I feel like it would be a good way to end of each year, replaying low-tier mons with what you've learned. Maybe this could be a super New Year's tradition?
That could apply to all Gen 1 Flying-Types except for Gyarados and Aerodactyl-Gyarados because it doesn’t Fly and is huge enough to justify it causing quakes, and Aerodactyl because we all know it spins like a top when it causes Earthquakes, lol.
This channel is really just a story of Scott getting better purely out of competitiveness lol. So many fresh runners in this community you’ve fostered. Glad they finally talked you into the virtues of double edge, Matt said that took like a year. Victribel is still the king!
I was literally thinking that I wanted this exact type of video to go over the redone runs. This, on a Tuesday, no less??!? Thank you Scott!! You are the best!
Kudos to you Scott for not using However as much anymore - also your flow of speech overall improved by a lot in my opinion - keep up the great work :)
He's explained before that Pokemon is an obsession of his. He's said he'd do this with or without videos, he's just lucky enough to have us to support him through it. Therefore one of his passions is now his job.
I LOVED this video, it was really cool to see a nice synopsis of all your streams and just overall how much you’ve improved. Obviously your regular videos are still the best, but this was really cool for those of us that can’t catch most of the streams where you’re re-ranking stuff. Amazing as always!
60 IQ: use hypnosis 100 IQ: Hypnosis is a fundamentally flawed move with potential to cause the ven MORE lost turns and adding significant variabce to a run of a fundamentally inconsistent game 140 IQ: Use hypnosis
I do like that Scott is at the point where hypnosis can really save time because it allows for the riskier quick kill instead of the safe and slow “attack until it dies” thingz
34 minutes from Austin!? The tier list really needs some updated if the top S tiers are getting 34 and the bottom S tiers are getting 44. A 10 minute difference is crazy for the 'top' tier.
I couldn't agree more about these. Sometimes it feels like the streams hurt the runs, and every gen 1 and 2 pokemon are my favorite pokemon. Not even just the distraction, but it hurts when a pokemon gets shelved when it's so close to a better time or tier. I understand you're only human, but I'm really happy to see this video. I appreciate all the hard work, and your love for all these pokemon
Thank you for this video, Scott! Im not much of a stream watcher due to my job (and the content i struggle to keep up with on a daily basis), so seeing this summary of your streams is great.
The Farfetch'd promotion makes me very happy! That little duck was basically my second starter as a kid. I always used it! It was also the mon that taught me how good setup moves were, albeit a few years later.
Finally Pokémon Yellow again. I don't know why I'm not interested in the other games, maybe because I feel like I can't move forward before yellow is fully done. Also, I'm not much into live streams, so this was a pleasant surprise :) Anyway, keep doing what you you do, I'll watch the other vods eventually.
Hey Scott, i love your content, i do have some constructive criticism tho... When showing pokemon rankings at the end of video im having a hard spotting where they end up due to there being so many of them by this point... Id love for you to somehow draw attention to the pokemons placement... Maybe A circle around them or something like that 🤗 keep the pokemon content coming. Cheers
Aham. Drooopped my baaaalls! Also do hope we get see more of this-The whole 'brief recap on Pokémon that got reranked' for folks who aren't watching the full streams you have going.
While the depth of detail you go into sometimes goes over my head, I appreciate the sheer dedication to the mons you have. That final 'YES' in the recent Flareon run was one of my fave moments of yours. I don't know if it'd work for your workflow but this kind of summary video for the streams would be nice to have as a semi-regular thing every three months or whatever. Anyways, thanks a lot for the consistent updates. You keep me company on long work shifts and while I cook, even if my cats get scared when you yell if bad things happen xD
LETS GO TO MY FLAPPY BIRD BOY PIDGEOT!!! Interesting that we don't see the Fearow redo here or in essence we already capped Ferow out before. I wonder. Lapras being behind Pidgeot now but more importantly I find it wild how high up Golemn is. Like the tier is wild man.
Hey Scott, just wanna let you know I loved this video format! I've watched all the live streams, but seeing a rapid-fire of multiple streams summarized in this way definitely helped illustrate how far you've come
This was a very interesting change of pace for a video and I quite liked it! I'm sure this was primarily made to counteract the behemoth that is Electrode vs Magneton, but I'd be happy to see more videos like this one in the future. Recapping streams can be a useful source for those who don't have the time or interest to tune in to live streams (I will watch everything on this channel, so in my case, I would not mind having more content to watch).
The teirlist is looking top-heavy. Im curious to see how you filter it out. But I do really like this type of video. Having watched the livestreams at least once, it's like having cliff notes for them all. It's a nice change of pace!!
So it may be risky, but I feel like if you're not using Surf in the mid game there are several Water types including Lapras that you could put Hydro Pump on before the late game to grab some 1 hit ranges... 80% of the time. I think Lapras could have benefited from that because a few of those ranges are painful.
Absolutely loved this video! Was very interesting to see. Also your layout is by far the best of any poketuber, the real time changes with stats and power of moves, and stats and moves of opponents is just SO good! Keep up the great work scott ❤
In one of your streams, you said you would do this video and if it didn’t do well you would never do another one. I am placing this comment here to bribe the algorithm to help this do well because I want to see more of these!
Wow this is an amazing reranking video!! No messing around just powerhouse play throughs back to back to back 👏👏👏 can’t wait for the electric showdown I think electorode will eke out the win due to speed. 🤞
I thought this was a nice video, and am very appreciated that you summarized the live streams. I typically skip those (no offense), so it's nice to see how reranks and such panned out in more detail than just seeing an updated rank list.
There is always going to be some R&G and some of the trickier entries on the list are heavily dependent on it to get past some of the hardest fights in the game. The Jolteon stream was such a clear indication of this, you lost like 6 minutes on the champion fight because you just couldn’t get anything go your way. Happy to hear you give the spiky doggo another shot…. Again. lol
I think you're going to need to start figuring out how to split up the A and S tiers. Maybe "Star" tier or even like, "Cynthia" tier, something opposite of Bruno, for the best of the best, or adding a tier and shifting the time to
I've been catching a lot of the streams, but even then I really liked this video. I could use more of those after another batch of streams! Great video Scott!!
I enjoyed this new type of video. It was a good way to update us in a brief way about the new pbs he managed to achieve while revisiting some older runs using the new skills and knowledge he gained. If there's one thing I would like is for him to compare splits from his old pb with his current one so we can see exactly where the run improved and by how much.
It's so much fun to see how far you've been able to push these runs! I think Pidgeot and Flareon were my favorite to see from this bunch. It's cool to see the Hypno and Victreebel times again! That Victreebel run was so inspiring. There are a very select few other Pokemon (besides Mewtwo) that I think will be able to come close to them, I'm curious to see if anyone can guess them : )
@Scott’s thought maybe it better for lapras that u battle Sabrina first with body slam first and the Blaine with surf I feel like that would help with consistency it’s just ure ordering of battles
I think Hypno would crush if it just had Thunder Punch to resolve a lot of fights involving some water types to replace Hypnosis in some circumstances. This video is solid. Though I think things would fair differently for Hitmonchan if comet punch was a fighting type move for the early game. Though that'd make poison types a real pain during Nugget Bridge. If there is one Pokémon that definitely needs help in the tier list, it would have to be Seel and Dewgong respectively. If they both started with Headbutt and Aurora Beam respectively, things would flow much smoother.
It's been a good while. Cleary you are improving more and more. At this are you may someday even beat the official world speed run record even on accident 🤣🤭
This is the longest 39 minutes ever!😂 Felt like hours! S-tier and A-tier is waaay stacked though😂 But that’s just how it is, when we see how many pokemon you’ve done. It’s getting full now😂😂
25:24 wait, why didn't you just do Sabrina first, when you still had Body Slam, and then Blaine afterwards? Did you do the entirety of Silph until after Blaine?

Never change, Scott.

Perfect version of what I intended to comment =)

Victreebel more like Victorybell!
@@tehy123It is in NU (4th tier) in competitive. What are you talking about?

You may want to add a tier above S tier as its getting kinda full for the elites 😊
What do we name it, though? RED Tier?
Two standard formats are either to add another S (up to 3 toatal S: S->SS->SSS) or to make it EX.

The format also helped him resist "strikes back". Mostly. Big win, lol.
Don’t like the concept of Scott having to do so many playthroughs for one video but man I love this format for a video
Ahh, let's face it he was gonna do them anyways. He wanted to update their runs, and he does genuinely like streaming
