  • Today I fix another pieces of equipment from advertising on the Nextdoor App. It is a Troy Bilt pressure washer that did not start. It ended up being a really gummed up carburetor and I show you all that happened. I thank you all for watching. Stay Positive!!!

Man, thanks so much for this video; i had already cleaned my carb but thanks to you showing a thorough walk-walk thru, i noticed I didn't put the needle in the slot of the float....I spent all day trying to get my pressure washer working. You are a life saver.

I spent 4 days on this thing and I was ready to trash it until I saw your video. I blew air into the main gas hole and it started right up. Thank you

It's a good idea to use a paper clip or guitar string to make sure the ports are clear of debris. The bowl bolt has ports that need to be cleared as well. That might be what freed up with that last blast of air.

I bought one of these exact same washers new a few years ago. It's always been a POS. Hard to start from day one. I took the carb apart and cleaned it last summer. Last time I tried to use it in the fall it would not start at all. I'm going to try to clean the carb again and look into the main jet size. I live at over 6200' and I'm not sure if it came with a high altitude jet. Hoping that will help. If it doesn't help, I'm throwing the damn thing away. I'm tired of messing with it.

I hope that works for you. I always make sure I hit the trigger on the water wand to remove any built up pressure that will prevent the engine from turning over fast. These caruretors get gummed up quickly it seems if you dont use them all the time.

1.You can drain the carburetor bowl when you are going to store it.
2.You can run it out of fuel before storage.
      3. If you use non-ethnanol recreational fuel or a fuel additive that helps as well.

I just slap them in sonic cleaner and spend time sharpening blades or service items
I clean 95% of carbs that come in shop now 😊

Yeah that would be a nice addition. Do you completely disassemble first?

You need to check the valves

      Why is that?

You need a sonic cleaner or acid dip

Do you completely disassemble first before you out it in the sonic cleaner?

Never pay for a used pressure washer on market place, they all are pieces of crap.

I mostly agree with you. If you cannot test it and see if the pump is functioning I would steer clear as well.
