    Brother, This is pure gold. I took your advice earlier this year regarding more aerobic conditioning and man I am better in all aspects of training.
    Thanks brother.

    I've been prioritizing endurance and conditioning lately, so it's always helpful to run into channels thinking along similar lines.

      Same here brother. Love this dude's channel. Ever since i've been prioritising improving my aerobic system is when I really started to see true gains both physically and mentally

    Do a video for those of us that want to start Kb Sport. I've been researching strength endurance for quite some time and kb Sport athletes always come up, guys like Vasiliev are like cyborgs and that kind hability to sustain strength is what I'd like to develop. So please, expand on that...

    Does rhythmically swinging along with a lightweight kettlebell for an extended period of time fit into classic endurance training?

  • @posborne86
    @posborne86 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    this is great. Do you use anything to track your training load(eg. Training Peaks). I have been using TP for my running and sprint canoe training loads using a HRM but noticed for GS/kettlebell sport it's pretty challenging to stay in the lower zones and i'm wondering how relevant heart rate data is for KB sport.

    • @kettlebell_aerobics
      @kettlebell_aerobics  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's a great question. I stopped tracking heart rate because my training is pretty polarized. I do kettlebell sport training around 3 times and easy endurance training (Z1/2) 2-3 times per week. Zone systems designed for classic endurance training don't really translate well to kettlebell training. I don't really recommend trying to do aerobic base work with kettlebells, not saying it can't be done at all but it's not ideal. Hope that makes sense.

    • @posborne86
      @posborne86 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kettlebell_aerobics so you're using KB as the high-intensity/strength endurance training part of the uphill athlete approach

  • @danielclare7717
    @danielclare7717 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    So, if I am understanding this correctly, I should focus on training aerobically by using weights that keep me in a low heart rate zone over a period of 30 minutes. I currently struggle with 24's so making it easy would be lowering the weight and then building up to thirty minutes, at minimum, with a lower weight instead, such as 16 kg's. Would this work with something like long cycle? I am still relatively new to kettlebell training.

    • @kettlebell_aerobics
      @kettlebell_aerobics  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No unfortunately you didn't get that exactly right. You should do aerobic training via locomotive activities, like jogging, rowing, et cetera, IN ADDITION to your kettlebell training. Kettlebells are not ideally suited to train the aerobic energy system because the constant tension inhibits circulation.

    Can you train all three systems in the same treadmill session? For instance 5 minutes @ 3 mph -> 2 minutes @ 5 mph -> 1 minute @ 6 mph then repeat starting again with 5 minutes at 3 mph? Continue the cycle for 30-45 minutes

    • @kettlebell_aerobics
      @kettlebell_aerobics  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's definitely a possible and useful method to get a mix of aerobic and anaerobic adaptations. Don't do that every training session though. For best results, you still want to have a lot of training sessions that are purely aerobic - "long easy distance" and some that target the ATP-CP system - like short sprints with plenty of rest. On top of that, for sure, go ahead.
