- I've driven a lot of cars... and this one I can't compare to ANYTHING. Until the HTG guys can fly in to tune the GCU I utilized a simpler trans controller that doesn't talk to the Haltech (no throttle control on shift or downshift). Power to weight. Strip the weight out and put gears in it with a few hundred horsepower. My 94 cobra is under 300 and weighs about 3000 pounds and runs low low 13 second 1/4 with mostly just suspension and drivetrain work

@@dylanzrim1011 Yeah that, and boost cause it loads the engine, its pretty much launch control for auto drag cars
Dylan Zrim someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it puts the trans in 2 different gears at the same time to “lock” it so the engine can come up on the converter and allow it to build boost for the launch
If you want to learn what some exciting trans brake pulls look like then watch videos of Holden VL Calais, (for one and only model they came from factory with a turbo RB30) those big boys sitting at the start line waiting for boost to build for there 8's pass on trans brake and then leave the line like a sling shot.
It makes the trans go in 1st and reverse at the same time to essentially lock the trans to make a really high load situation that allows you to load the drivetrain and build boost.
Gaps everything in sight = “Definitely could be faster”

Guys. These Barra engines are commonplace over here. There are so many that we have 1,000kw (I think that is around 1,400hp) Ford Falcons and they still drive like they are stock standard. Immensely impressive compared to the larger antiquated V8 engines that Ford used. Ford Australia gave up on V8 engines and only used the turbo Barra as they outperformed the 6.2 litre V8 used by GM Holden. They are immensely powerful and Australia's gift to the world as one of the best designed and built 6 cylinder engines ever manufactured by anyone. The other great one made here was the Hemi 265 (4.3 litre) 6 cylinder made by Chrysler Australia back in the seventies. Back then, these Hemi's outperformed the best 351 Ford V8 and 350 GM V8 that was on offer. But I do love my V8's and the USA are the champions when it cones to these engines. My wife drives around in a 6.0 litre V8 engined GM Calais sedan. It's 10 years old now but I am not yet prepared to trade into something new just yet. It goes so well.

The only solution might be to take out weight up front and maybe put more power to the back always.. change the gearing to the back to push harder might help, but it's will always be too heavy and the engine will always be too far up front for great handling. Then again... These high power builds are almost never got through turns..

It isn't always about handling. Think of an scatpack challenger, it is more of a muscle cruiser than a track car. There is also the Camaro which actually handles amazingly well.

Real talk though: I don’t understand why he chose to swap a GT350. You could mod a VooDoo with twin turbos and make this much power for less. I feel like the swap would make more sense in an ecoboost, which would come in automatic and the engine YOURE swapping in wouldn’t be arguably worse than the one you started with. It’s his car and the swap is still cool, but I don’t completely understand it.
