    Hello Don, I just had one of these delivered. Apparently, they heard you :) My scope came with a flip-up rear cover.

    Good honest review for an entry level optic

    My leveling kit is a drill bit index set. Find a bit that will slide through a groove of the rail between the bottom of the turret housing while the rings are slightly loose. It takes a few tries with different bit diameters using the shank of the bit not the fluted end. My index has numbered, lettered and 64'ths bits somewhere in there one will be a match or very close. Even leveling a scope in this manner sometimes they still seem to be canted I have tried the levels and lasers this seems to get me closer than any of them. I guess if you had the rifle mounted in a vice and had a grid down range you could verify doing a full travel test with the dials. Long ranges is where scope cant will show up. These inexpensive scopes at least by todays monetary standards are far better than what we were offered forty years ago especially the higher magnification. I remember paying around $79.00 for a Tasco Varmint scope I thought I was hot stuff it goes all the way up to 24x but has a very small field of view but way better than a Charles Daly 4x I had before. Five hundred bucks back then would have bought some good glass I never even dreamed of paying that much for any kind of scope. Thanks for doing the review.

    Funny I literally just purchased a discovery 6x24x40 ffp for 90 bucks and so far so good. Great little scope for the price. Clicks are decent. It's not Japanese glass but for 90 bucks you really can't go wrong.

    It’d be nice if we could afford to run expensive glass on everything but since we can’t we need to get stuff like this. And honestly it’s pretty awesome for the price. The Arkens are like 900 up here in Canada and this one was 570. So needless to say I got this and I’ve been pretty happy with it

      I surely can’t afford to put Tract or NightForce on all my rifles nor would I if I could. On Certain rifles a Arken or this Discovery are just the right fit.

      We are so lucky here in the Philippines. I got mine this exact same model ED PRS 5-25X56 GEN2 at 233USD delivered in my door. It is very accurate turrets. and I also bought the LHD 8-32X50SFIR FFP at 127USD delivered in my door. ❤ both turrets tract surprisingly accurate.

      @@blacklisthunter8861I just did a review on the 3-15 that I wasn’t so lucky on. Reticle goes blurry if you move your head in the slightest while shooting. It’s bad. Waiting to see how good the warranty is.

      The 5-30? I have review videos up on the 3-15 and the 5-25x56 which is the video you just commented on. Watch the 3-15 video, the 5-30 was pretty much the same.

    I'm getting a ruger 10/22 and was wandering is the Target Lite good choice? 10/22 must have treads and if it's accurate does't hurt. I cant get barrel here because i would have to buy another gun licence for 115€ so factory model. Also it will be getting all sorts of stock and other stuff that i can get trough Brownells or other channels here. Got already a tikka t1x in .17hmr but a semiauto should be a lot off fun to shoot. Have u tried the geco 22lr rifle ammo?

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have not tried Geco ammo, and the target light should shoot good for a factory rifle. Semi Autos are a blast!

    Great video what would you suggest for an STARTER nrl22 setup the discovery prs Ed 5×25 gen 2 or the arken SH4J GEN2 5X25 . Again great review . Regards , Will

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have not seen the SH4J as of yet but I’ve heard it’s good. Keep in mind that scope only has 8mil revolutions on the turret. Most have 10. Not that big a deal really. Now compared to the SH4 I would say the Discovery all day long. But I can’t speak on the J model, same scope with better glass. And that was my main problem with the SH4. I’d say it’s probably a toss up. I do really like the Discovery line. I’m testing a 3-15 right now that is absolutely fantastic and would be a great DMR AR15 style scope. I’d say the Discovery 5-25 competes pretty strong with the EP5 but I do like the EP5 a shade bit better. The eye piece focuses the reticle better and I like the glass better too. But it’s close. Probably made in the same factory for all I know. Good luck, I think either would be good choice. Oh, and although Discovery has a lifetime warranty I have no idea how it’s done or how good they are about it. Arken is pretty fast in my experience but I’ve also heard the opposite from other people.

    Well done video. Do you have any knowledge of this company's customer service? I am looking for an affordable alternative to Arken after a recent bad experience with Arken's non-existent customer service and fraudulent warranty. I had been happy with my 4 Arken's until I needed warranty service on one. I am willing to pay a little more for a scope from a company who has prompt customer service, honors their warranty and has a website with a phone number and address. I plan to go back and rewatch some of your other scope reviews for ideas. Thanks.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can’t speak on there warranty, I wish I could. Arken took care of mine when I had a problem, had another scope on my rifle in a week. As far as warranty’s go Vortex is as good as it gets. I have had good service from BlackHound also. But I would recommend SwampFox if you’re looking for a good budget scope. Check them out for sure! They build tanks!

      @@Xplawd not really they clarified that point. The life warranty has been initiated a year ago from now. They said it does not apply to scopes that would have been purchased earlier.
