Laura and Aaron - I look forward to your videos every day. I don’t know if you realize how much of a joy you bring to others lives. I laughed a lot during this one, between Aaron trying to get a tree at a discount, Laura driving the fork truck while filming, and Laura falling in the hole. I love that you show real life, and I can see myself falling into a hole like that. It is such a relief everyday to watch your videos, I’m currently going through chemo and immunotherapy and just want to forget about that for a while. Your videos let me do just that! 💜 💜 💜

The way Laura and Aaron interact at the garden center just makes me smile! Laura is giddy with excitement going from tree to tree like a squirrel dashing from place to place, not withholding her enthusiasm at all, and then there’s Aaron, so controlled and reserved but turning on a dime as Laura’s exclamations over her next find beckon his attention! Too funny, but so sweet to watch!
Laura is just like me once the plant gets home, so eager to get it in the ground!
These trees are going to provide you years of enjoyment and the memories you created while planting them are ones you will draw pleasure from for many years!

We bought our children a tree of their own when we bought our last home. The nursery prices were shockingly high so we asked for something a little less expensive. We were shown a stick at the back for $20.00. It was a Shademaster Honey Locust and had one tiny branch. That tree is absolutely stunning now!

Dear Laura & Aaron, I first began watching just weeks before baby girl, Samantha Grace, made her darling appearance and have been hooked ever since. I’ve binged many previous episodes and continue to learn so much from you. As I type this, it’s 5 am EST. My 94 year-old Mom is down the hall as she returned home yesterday after spending a few days at an inpatient Hospice facility. This is a very new development in her condition for my brothers and me. Two weeks ago, Mom was doing pretty good for 94. She got up every day, got dressed on her own, & was very independent. She was tooling around our home with her walker, watching her shows, (The Price is Right, Judge Judy, & The Wheel of Fortune to name a few) playing Candy Crush on her iPad, monitoring the lives of her kids, grand, & great grandkids via Facebook, & enjoying my live-in granddaughter, (age 6) who is (most of the time 😉) pure entertainment. The abrupt change in Mom’s condition created a whirlwind & it was exhausting navigating that & making decisions on how to move forward, & how to arrange for the help we need to keep her at home. Your channel has been a place of respite and relaxation for me. At night when unable to sleep, or if I’m taking a rare break during the day, I often go to TH-cam and inevitably end up on Garden Answer or Garden Answer Highlights…. and just breathe. I can’t thank you enough for being such a place of steadfast positivity and quite simply, gardening. No one is ever ready to say goodbye to a parent or loved one. My family shares a faith that compels us to love the Lord, to serve Him & others, to cherish life & each other. When it’s time, we don’t fear death. But, that doesn’t make any of this easy as I’m sure so many others know. Keep up the good work, Laura & Aaron. Keep sharing your darling babies and family.
p.s. I think your Mom & I could quite easily become best friends. 🙂

You guys have become part of my morning breakfast. My black thumb is slowly turning a little greener. I am fearlessly landscaping my blank slate of a yard with the help of your videos. I've accepted that not everything will work and that is ok! And if I hate it, it can always be dug up and moved somewhere else! My mantra has become "if at first you don't succeed, plant and plant again."

I keep thinking back at what your South Garden was before you acquired that addition to your property. You have done such a marvelous job transforming it into a beautiful young garden space! Aaron has done a magnificent job with the grass and the trees are stunning! I can't wait to see everything when its all settled in! Awesome job and in such a short period of time!

as a very biased new-englander, i gotta say i think you'll be thrilled by that sugar maple cultivar, because from my experience here at least, while red maples are beautiful and bright, sugar maples on the whole can look like they're lit up by how vibrant they are, and that gorgeous lightly swirling bark they get as they age, iconic

Wonderful video. I enjoyed watching the shopping for trees and the planting the beautiful trees. My grandfather had a tree planted in Israel by close friends when he died. It is the meaning of life continues after death by planting a tree. The tree was planted in Israel in1969, perhaps someday I will get to see the tree. Keep doing your videos and making people happy!

I’m so excited that you got a purple fountain beech! We had 3 at our home in Massachusetts and called them our dancing ladies. They get tall and graceful and have a very other-worldly growth habit. The dark purple leaves are gorgeous, too. I just spent 30 minutes trying to find a good photo but wasn’t very successful. But you can google them.

You guys work so well together. ❤ Reminds me of my hubby and I. We have built Barnes, fencing, constructed gardens and deconstructed to rebiluild in another space..out buildings and secured pastures to name a few..we work like a well oiled machine. You two by video seem to be that way too. I know or have seen many complain about being out of sync working with their spouses...we don't, 17yrs ..it's nice to see you both working together like that❤❤❤❤

Same with my husband and I ...we work so well together, it's a joy! Except for when we used to put lights on the Christmas tree, LOL! My word, you would not believe the fights, it was crazy, because we never fight, but something about stringing those lights just made us fight like cats and dogs. Needless to say, we made the switch to artificial trees years ago. We are blessed to have such wonderful husbands, for sure.

I had to comment on the Locust trees. We have a Locust tree in our front yard that is 40 years old and it is a love/hate tree! In the spring it drops seeds for two weeks. We must park across the street because the seeds just cover everything and when wet they stink! It looks like a blanket of brown green seeds on everything! If it rains they smell disgusting and stick to everything. In the fall they drop the tiny leaves and that is not nearly as bad as in the spring but they do clog up the gutters. Oh the seeds clog the gutters too. So we depend on our grandson to go up on the roof with the leaf blower to clean the gutters. On a good note it shades the living room in the summer so that is good. When you were picking out the trees I am saying no Laura do not go with the Locust tree! I know there are different kinds of Locust and hopefully it is different than what we have in Pennsylvania. I really love your videos and have learned so much from you and from Jenny at Creekside. I refer people to your videos all the time.

The best tree planting experience i ever had was putting in 12 Green Giants during the rain. We were lucky enough to have an abnormally wet spring in 2020 when they went in. They were 6-8 feet tall and now are at least 15 feet tall and have already provided a solid screen for us. I've seen many like ours in surrounding towns and don't compare in size or lushness. I highly recommend planting in the rain or at least run the hose during the whole process to get the root ball as wet as possible.
