So close to having mine running. So glad i found your part 2 video. I tried to emulate your water line set up, hoping it gets me hotter as im still on stock ECU and tune. Thanks for posting!
Great family trip. Nice to see you’re a considerate boater and keep the speed and wake down in tight congested areas. There are a lot of dummies out there. Also, great mellow tone out of that exhaust. The mufflers are another considerate item. I like the rumble of a V8 as much as the next guy but don’t need to hear it ten miles away while I’m trying to enjoy an afternoon sitting on the beach. Regarding your fuel economy - that’s very good with that motor I’d say. You can help both top speed and fuel economy if you trim the bow up a bit to get more of the hull out of the water and reduce drag. Looking forward to your high speed runs. Enjoy your hard work there!
I love the boat! Very god looking hull. Especially in the water! I’m about to swap my subird. It’s a 4.3 right now, I have a 4.8 to put in it. And I have a vortech supercharger just sitting around not doing anything. So I may throw that in it after I get it running. This is giving motivation to get mine done!
@@JohnnyAnderson1 it’s an omc drive that I have on it right now. Idk if anyone makes a none cone for it. I have a heat exchanger that came off of the ski boat that I took the manifolds from. If I put the vortech on it then I’ll definitely want to put some kind of water intercooler on it. And plumb it to get the cold water first. I just have to figure out how to connect the Y pipe from the ski boat manifolds to the omc y pipe connector. Bc the ski boat manifolds are jacketed all the way down to the floor where the y pipe comes together. and they are aluminum. They may be too much trouble to make them work. I want to do captains call or something like that also. I may end up trying to sell the manifolds I have and get some Hardin marine aluminum manifolds instead. They have them for $1500 with O2s already in it. It’s a much better and much lighter set up then the crusaders and really not that much more money. What are the crusaders? 1300? By the time you get risers and manifolds and o2 spacers…. Everything hardin makes is good stuff! If I buy some manifolds that’s what I’m going with. But I’m going to try to make what I have work first. I’d love to send you some pics of what I have and how I think I’m going to use them, and get your opinion and suggestions on it if possible. Is there somewhere I can email some pics to you or something?
Loving how this swap turned out man great content. If you could do it all over again would you stick with the carb setup or would you go with an efi setup?
The carb setup is so simple, which I love for a boat. But if I had to buy all the carb stuff again, I'm pretty sure I would just go EFI just to save about a grand. With that being said, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with going carb, I even have the choke removed, and it fires right up perfectly every time.
Possibly, I will swap it to EFI this winter more than likely. I just had all the stuff to run a carb and didnt wanna mess with the fuel system right away... I will need some new injectors as all my intakes have been sitting for years with fuel in them lol.. and would really like to fab up an intank fuel pump to go EFI. The other issue is making the EFI work without a 02 sensor, because from what I have been hearing they get lots of condensation from the wet exhaust and the 02s will not last long.
Thats what im thinking, my turbo car I used a wideband to tune for speed density with 0411 pcm which didn't use a MAF or O2's. Once it was tuned right the wideband was just for my reference and had no connection to the PCM. And with a stock or mild NA combo, that should be pretty easy to get the fuel right.
Yep, really just a small cam and bigger carb would pick up an easy 50hp on this setup. I'm not sure at what point this exhaust setup would would become a restriction, although they do make high-performance marine headers if you got $4000, lol.
@@JohnnyAnderson1 pretty area. Looks like a great place to camp. I’m in south Louisiana. We have a lot of water but we don’t have many clean lakes around here.
@gapingtonbobuah9299 If someone had 15k in hand, I doubt I'd be able to say no. I Just don't wanna sell it right now, If I found another boat it would take that much to get it to this ones condition. Love the Cobalt, and it's the perfect size for what I need.
Top notch dad 🫡. Looks like a sweet build and almost 4mpg is nice

Thank you sir, I try to be respectful. The exhaust is my favorite part! It's not loud at all, sounds more like a car with exhaust on it.
A very Kool swap! Thanks for sharing it, and thanks for more recent vids too. May God richly bless You and Yours.
thank you sir

A supercharger, a good nosecone and v8 gearing would get well into the 70mph range!! Maybe even 80s

Boats arent any fun unless they have a v8 or atleast a 250 outboard 😂😂😂❤nice job😊
Mu h more enjoyable for sure! Lol
Thanks
200 2 stroke on my 20’ bass boat goes good enough
Hey not all bass fishers are like that!! Ok many are but not all!! :)
Lol I know 🤣
lol! Outdrive was 1:1 ratio, and he checked it three times…:) enjoy the boat. Top speed is… you guessed it, 60MPH…:)
?
I bet with an 0411 PCM this thing could get some killer fuel economy

I've also been looking to go efi with out o2s. Just need a solid tune
@@mayito123j you could theoretically tune it with o2’s and then delete them when it’s time to run. I guess just force it into closed loop?

Awesome swap! I love the sleeper concept! Blowing bye boats that cost 10 times as much as yours!🤘🏼
I with draw my comment on the alternator
Lol, it's all good those things are not cheap...
Dude, that thing gets down for a 5.3. Imagine a 6.2 build lol

What lake was this?
The first one was Guntersville lake on the TN River in Alabama, the second one was the TN river at Savhanna, TN

How much for the boat I’m in MO?
Everything has a price, but it's "not forsale" lol
@@JohnnyAnderson1 how much is the not for sale price ?

What part of the country are you in?? That looks just like my home water...
What’s the top speed?
Gonna do some gps runs with it next weekend and find out. Should be high 50s but it's not built for top speed
I thought my 2500hd got bad mpg lol
Lol....
3.5mpg is REALLY good in a boat.
is it for sale lol
Lol
Nice looks fun where was the invite bro. Glad it's running mostly good.
OMG... Just saw the map and did that say Guntersville dam??? If so I was right it is my home water....
Beautiful place, will definitely be back there as it's not too far of a drive for a weekend.
