I'm sorry but I have to say this. These oiled performance filters are ok for carb cars, or cars that do not have a hot film/wire air meter. But considering that a good 80 percent of modern cars do, the oil residue will ruin the airflow meter and you will find that you will have to replace the meter. You are better off with the factory cotton filter, and there is little to no difference in performance gains.
Nice! A couple of months ago, I bought a Pipercross, installed it in my Golf 1.8T and I am very pleased with the product! Good to watch how it was made!🤘🏻
Loving how it's made mostly by hand and not on the other side of the planet. Was already looking to buy a cone filter, now I just need to check if Pipercross has one for my car. Great vid lads 👍
Daniel Z well, for me it matters in the sense it keeps jobs in our continent (rather than made in countries like China). Also nice that it keeps jobs where someone actually makes something (not everyone has 3 master degrees, so I reckon it is a good thing that we're keeping some of those jobs here). So if you're just looking at the filter: surely, you are correct. However, I also look at other things supporting (sorta, kinda) local business and jobs for Average Joe. For me, if I can choose between 2 filters of similar quality, but one supports a business in a neighboring country and helps keep people employed that look similar to my family members - that's a nice extra for me and I'd even be willing to pay extra for it. Not being against anyone that chooses otherwise (to each his own), just trying to explain why it is relevant for me, that's all.

@@travisfs7526 Well, it's an open filter designed to sit in the engine bay so... Better off with a panel filter and modded airbox, or a CAI if you want the noise

I have a pipercross carbon induction kit on my corrado vr6 and it's helps just wish they sold it with a box to stop it from flopping around instead of zip ties that keep breaking
@@willsaund13 both of them actually. Every filter has to be replaced after a certain time. Only the k&n filters are an item you dont replace too often but even those will have to be replaced eventually. You cant just keep cleaning them. Only issue i see with foam filters is when you have a kompressor as it will not only suck in air but also the foam as it sucks harder. Edit: i have a pod filter
Love your Videos, but IT would be really nice If you could improve the audioquality. In most of your Videos your voices are either muffled or too quite. But the content is top notch.
I have a pipercross air filter and the build quality is actually terrible! I have the panel filter which at the seams of the rubber, the mesh has full removed itself from the rubber. I have sent it back to ECP and supplied with a new one which has does the exact same thing.
Not criticizing their process, but I think they should have/showed a flow test for each filter. And since you are showing us the process they could have show the difference between a standard filter and their one
Same here, filter looked flimsy and came fully soaked in oil (including the box) and the paint from the black mesh came loose. Didn't help me with refund or exchange for new one, never again!
I like the bit where they rattle-can an oily piece of foam
Alright I’m away to make one for my car wish me luck lads
Good luck
Tell us how it went after you done
Lol
I made two yesterday. Put both in the same car. One panel filter and one cone.

Great series idea ....helps towards ur goal of the daily content we all want 👀
The oil soak is where the horsepower gets added.
The longer it soaks in, the faster your car goes.
You need to put red stripes on your air filter too... 10x horsepower
And if the car itself comes in red, you get 3x more horsepower for all of the added power already installed with the filter.
I have a pipercross filter on my Mini, great stuff !
love that table at 7:28
I was just looking for one today, what a nice coincidence =)
Iridium Google ads are amazing these days...
I got an air filter from them like 3 weeks ago good products.

I was hoping this video would be about the K&N air filter’s
Are you gonna update us on Project Prelude??
Sterling_Mustang the guy doing it is a fraudster and was selling fake/clone parts. Was all over Facebook. Think they prop pulled out of it
Ah yes, a filter so that it sucks up hot air from the engine bay and/releases oil on the MAF. Losing power and fouling sensors, hell yeah!
