    that drill snap at the beginning… I broke my hand summer of 21 doing that lol drill caught and spun before I could let go of it and spiraled the metacarpals in the back of hand up like candy canes 😂 that was a rough couple of weeks

      I was so caught off guard haha. That first notcher had such worn out bushings that it let it walk around and grab edges.

    pretty inspiring watching you build up the caging. those drill tube notchers are great. Subscribed from a fellow PA jeeper.

    Looks great. I did a reverse V on my cage too. Gave me more room for my seat backs without having to put bends in the bars.
    PS: Maybe I’ll bump into you guys at Rausch Creek some day!

    Nice work on the cage, it looks awesome! It's going to be a lot of work but I'm sure you'll be able to bust it out and have the Jeep on the trails for July.

    amazing work man. just wondering, how much in tubing do you think you spent? total length used?
    thanks and hope it's going. saw that you finally took it off road - take care 😎

      100 foot is always a safe bet for a full tj cage with seat tie in. Might use a little less, might use a little more but that will get ya rolling! At the time I built it I was roughly $1000 in materials

    Hey bud, how are you planning to anchor the aluminum down to the cage? Plan on using aluminum for my roof too

      @@SamMatter wellll. Considering your sense of humor and general tomfoolery, i’m not sure if this is made up, a actual part/ piece of hardware, or a place 🤣

    How many ft of tubing did you end up using?

    • @SamMatter
      @SamMatter  ปีที่แล้ว

      This cage came in at 90 feet. 100 seems to be the safe number to get ya going!

    That knee bar thing makes no sense. No real reason for it. I feel the same about the eyebrow thing. How is it not in your line of view? The rest is good. As for the seat tab things. It's easier to make yourself a flat pattern with the cuts on it. Then you can replicate the same thing over and over. Then bend.

    • @SamMatter

      Rightttt the "knee" bar originally got added for a place for my center console bars to land. After ditching that idea I just never got around to removing it, im sure the first time I smack my shin on it ill be breaking out the Sawzall! As far as the eyebrow, You are correct, it serves no purpose other than looks, but surprisingly the view is just fine! Lastly, seat tabs...I agree, I saw a video a week after I made them and was like dang, that would have made my life easier! Thanks for the input though man!
