One of best builds on TH-cam imo. Cage looks sweet. This just keeps getting better. It's a pleasure watching ur vids and seeing u fab and weld. Saw a land cruiser all custom with LS swap. Like a Gucci hunting vehicle. Had hidden rifle and gear compartment under back seat. Lock center console with pistol storage and ammo. How much room in back would like to see what u fab up for storage. Tow ropes etc.
Do you think it's a good idea to attach the shock towers to the cage when the cage is sitting on bushings? Why don't you just attach the towers to each other with a tube wrapping around the rear seat? It would provide easier access to it from the back door and still be able to mount the harnesses
Yes. Definitely
Every time I watch your videos I am just amazed with how much skill you have. Always watch from beginning to end no skips.
Deep saw. You are a great fabricator and you have gave me a few ideas for my jeep build.
Great build on the cage Austin !
Your fabrication skills are top notch.
This 40 is going to be crazy when its complete. We will definitely need trail videos to see it in action!
Edit to add: I hope you keep this one Austin. This is your most labor-intensive project from what I've seen. And you're building it like a tank. Building it to last
the editing on this video felt different in a good way i liked it
You are doing a great job. Your work is so clean and precise. Cruisers are my love, I know you will have fun. One thing….. a black top?!!! Dude no! Cruisers have to have a white top. :) great job
WDYM "LEARNING"?!!! YOU KILLED THAT CAGE YOURE AWESOME
How/where do you learn these skills, this is like exactly what i want to do with my life as a hobby
Trial and error usually! Thanks!
Deep Saws
Another option would have been to bend a “halo” bar going from the B pillar to the windshield. This would allow you to bend the A pillar bars and fit them in between the floor and the “halo” bar at the roof line. Cuts out that last critical bend at the roof line going back to the B pillar bar.
Austin, I'm not a cage builder but, I was thinking maybe a triangulation bar between the B and C pillar would be a good addition.
Deep saw. Dude your Toyota flat bed inspired mine.
Deep saws! Keep up the amazing builds! Love watching all the amazing fabrication projects
If you take the roof off you can weld it up as much as possible in the car. You'll be able to gat around all the top welds and not burn your roof lining 🤙🏻
Definitely a cool cage! It’s pretty simplistic but looks like it’ll be really effective.
Deep saws! I wish they made a 6” deep one. I frequently have to drill though walls for my work, and a 6” deep one would mean I could drill through from one side.
DEEP SAW, your cage looks looks great. I'm hoping mine on my 1st Gen 4runner looks as good as yours.
Deep saw. These would come in handy for sure.
Deep saws! Perfect for bike frame building. Nice work as always!
Deep saw I always wanted to try them other then using a grinder
Смотрю из России и восхищаюсь твоим мастерством. Молодец мужик, продолжай в том же духе!
I do hope you are wearing some kind of hearing protection. With all that pipe bending, plasma cutting, and sawing, all that noise builds up.
Still need a rolling table for your cool table (?) saw. Keep up the good work. It's a pleasure to watch you figure things out.
Deep saws look like the trick for some of my upcoming projects
Deep Saws.
It appears like your harness bar is too high. The shoulder harness should wrap over the seat and your shoulders. This will prevent the body from traveling upwards in rollover conditions. Otherwise, lookin good as usual.
@Anders0nic I was just going to post the same thing. The B pillar bar should always be below your shoulders.
Deep saws. The FJ is looking great!
I am amazed at your skills and the results! Watching your videos motivates me to work on my FJ40 more!
Deep Saws! your land cruiser is looking awesome.
Grear work! But you need X that main bar. With out it cage is gona just fold if you roll it.
Great job I love watching your works you are an artist in numbers and measurements I wish you more progress
Happy to see your subscriber count actually gaining momentum. This is top notch work brother
Deep saws! Thes would make my life so much easier seen as though I’m starting the cage on my drift car
Deep Cut. Yes to your question. You need to tie it into the other shock Tower somehow. I think the 120 wall pipe will be strong enough to keep it from flexing every time you hit a bump.
Deep saws! I’m loving the build!
Deep saws. Glad you’re back to working on the cruiser.
Deep saw! lol I will use them even do a video on my crawler with them!!
Deep saws. Glad you changed the b to c tubing. Way stronger.
Deep saws, I was looking at their hole saws, I have some cages and bumpers coming up and just bought a new notcher. 1.75 would be awesome.
Deepsaws!! Keep up the great work. Get a lot of inspiration watching your vids.
Looking good but just a heads up you should never weld vertical on a chassis when you do fish plates make the ends round. Vertical welds on chassis weakens them and can cause them to break
Deep saw. Love all the videos but have to say the FJ is my favorite. Awesome work man!!
Vem para o Brasi - Salvador BA= Construir várias obras de artes como essas.
Love this build! Are you going to integrate some lighting onto the roll cage by chance?
Deep Saws. Cage looks great,. Agree 4 point seat belts will be much easier.
I hope I speak for everyone we need more videos can't get enough of what you do
Just a thought.... Could you take the roof off to finish the welds on top of the cage.
Sweet cage Austin. Loving the A pillars. You nailed it. Can you remove the roof for final weld? Save that headliner!
I've got the same question **695. I'm always impressed with his troubleshooting and work arounds, so it's going to be interesting when he gets to that.
La façon de relier l'arceau au châssis du coté roues arrière, est juste magnifique, bravo !
So there is already a comment on this, but you may not want to tie the cage to the shock towers since the cage will have bushings and the shock towers are rigid to the frame. I would imagine that it would kind of defeat the purpose of the bushing
Thats awesome build bro 👍👍👍
Great build, motivating me to build a cage for my BJ44.
DEEP SAWS 🤙🏼 your a huge inspiration my guy, keep grinding.
Deep saws, would love to build a roll case for my 40 project
Cool.. deep saws. Thanks for the code
Deep saws! Best thing I’ve seen all day.
Deep Saws, love fabricating!
That cage turned out awesome!
Deep saws! I love watching you bending tube and it amazes me what you can do with a plasma table!
Sweet build as always! Awesome that deepsaws hooked you up!
Can you not take the top off to weld out the cage? Also tying the two shock towers together behind the rear seat would probably be a better alternative to tying into the cage. If you tie into the cage it kinda defeats the purpose of having the bushings.
DEEP SAWS! These would be nice to try in the shop!
Deep Saws, could definitely use on an upcoming Bronco project
Deepsaw deep saw please throw in a bender and one of those evolution saws
Is that actually a roll bar if it is not tied to the frame? Wouldn't that be considered a show bar? I had my 76' completely upside down( I know this because i was hanging from my seatbelt and steering wheel.lol) my roll cage is tied to the frame. This series of vids makes me want to put an ls in my 80' FJ. It only has a 77" crate 350 in it now
Deep saws. Love the work. And have had this happen when I was building my bumpers and sliders on my toyota. This would have been so nice to have.
Deep saws........loving the build, keep it up, 🍻
Deep Saw. Dude you are an inspiration I have watched every video since the flatbed build. I have learned a lot from you and use that with my own FJ62 Build. I too am doing an LS swap.
“Deep Saws” this video has got me excited for building a roll gage for my 1st gen runner!
Deep saws!. I had to tig 2 saws together onetime. These are cool
"Expensive ass tube!" I heard that!
It was -65 in my part of Alaska the other day. My Tacoma and my rav4 still started like the little bosses they are
Deep saws, I am enjoying this build and am excited to see the finished product!
Your attention to detail on your builds ismind boggling. Everything you do is the best you can do as you learn to do it better. Your skills are wonderful to watch. The new hole saws add a new layer to your builds.
You even keep your shop spotless.
I will keep watching to learn more.
Deep saws! Awesome rig, hurry up already 😊
Would love to try out the deepsaw hole saw
That cage turned out
Deep saw..! Man I could use something like that..!
Deepsaws awesome build loving the process
Good job brother I love fj40,i can see you first start engine and first you drive you fj40 brother 😅😅😅
Deep Saws
These would be great for building the cage and bumper on my brothers Tundra and the cage on my T100!
Would it be easier to take the roof off and then fully weld the cage? you would have full access to almost all of it
Deep saws. Im goin to build my first motocycle frame!
Deep saws. I have built some rock sliders that those would have made alot easier.
Go check out Matt's off-road recovery last video they have a really good video on how they did their shock Towers in the back
Deep saw's. Another great video thanks for sharing the build with us.
DEEP SAW
Keep it up man, cage is looking great!
You've inspired me too start a roll bar for my TJ, Deep Saw
Awesome work as usual, can't you remove the roof to access the top of the cage? I know you had it mocked in position when you repaired it.
Cmon broo !.. geting litle bit more faster !.. So that We can See the Rockn roll offroad !.. 👍🏼😂
I live by Deer Park, Texas, it's 66°F outside here. 😂
Deep saws 💪🏼
These would help allot with my fab work.
Also Thanx for remaining a big inspiration man 🥹
Damn. that turned out so awesome. I love following this build.
Deep Saws. I could have used these so many times! What a great upgrade
Deep saws)
Excellent performance of the safety frame.
DEEP SAWS!
Love watching yours and your brothers videos man! Been watching for a long long time now. Wishing the best for you and Cam! Keep up the killer work
Love watching the builds
wouldn't have welded those underbraces to the chasis..now you can't separate the body from chasis. you also made your rear body mount bushings useless. I would have used riveted nuts on the chasis and grade 8 hardware through the backing plates.
Don’t think that’s DOM, looks like HREW with the visible seam.
Deep saws!
Thats one nice fj! Keep up the good work.
Hey, I've been watching a lot of your older videos like the suzuki carry, and on some parts of it, you just sprayed on black spray paint over like the frame and axle without any prep. Do you use a certain type of spray paint for that, or will just any black spray paint work? Just commenting on this so it hopefully gets seen. Thanks, love the vids
