  • I've been fishing here in Scotland for over 45 years, and I've always found it to be one of the most wonderful ways to immerse yourself in nature and the beautiful Scottish countryside. I've never met a fisherman who isn't deeply connected with the environment, wildlife & nature, and they're always passionate custodians of the Scottish countryside & our wild natural heritage. It's a truly special thing for which I'm very grateful.
My dad taught myself and my sister to fish on Loch Shin in the Scottish Highlands in 1978 and it connected me with the countryside on a really deep level, which has been a constant source of joy throughout my life. I think, in many ways, it's why I'm a photographer & filmmaker now - that desire to capture the beauty of the world around me was instilled at a very early age.
I very much love watching 'Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing' which are two old friends enjoying fishing in some of the UK's most beautiful lochs & rivers. Its huge popularity reassures me that people are still passionately connected to the countryside and their friendship and banter is so lovely to see. I also like that they talk about men's health issues, which is such an important thing. You can find the series on the BBC iPlayer.
Anyway, really hope you enjoy the video and I'll try and get another video out soon. If you can subscribe, I'm always very grateful, as it does really help to keep the channel going. Take care of yourselves and thanks for watching :-)

Hi everyone, hope you're well and you really enjoy the video. I'm sorry for not publishing anything for a while. I don't know why, but I've been struggling a bit with TH-cam lately and found it difficult to post. I'm sure I'll get my mojo back soon 🙂 My dad taught me to fish on Loch Shin in the Scottish Highlands when I was just five. It's been a great source of joy throughout my life, and has instilled a deep love in me for the Scottish countryside & nature, for which I'm very grateful. My dad is in his 90's now and we've been fishing together for about 45 years - and I cherish every trip we make. Take care everyone and thanks so much for watching - I'm very grateful. Best wishes, David
