This is one of the best reviews of the 2021Highlander on TH-cam. Basically tells the difference between a Limited a Platinum and XSE. The Limited is the one I would want. I prefer the bench seat since I carry cargo often and prefer the flat load floor with no place for things to fall through. Plus you can put carry another person in the rear seat. The Limited checks all the boxes for extra features I want. real leather seats, ventilated and heated seats, memory seats, JBL stereo, wireless phone charger, power rear liftgate, sunroof, nice alloy rims, LED headlights, torque vector AWD.
Had my 2021 Highlander Limited hybrid for 8 months. Spectacular vehicle in every way. Just a standard sunroof...not panoramic in US. Driven it 15,000 incredible miles already
@@JoeGX460 …. The extra features are very nice but don’t know if they warrant the big extra charge or will materially alter your love of the car. I opted for the limited. It’s everything I need
The make plenty of Limited models with the captains chairs in the middle as well. I have been test driving them for weeks and have not found a Limited with the bench seat yet as a matter of fact. The Limited models I have driven also have had the 360 degree birds eye view as well. I guess if you are talking straight up standard equipment but these features are not uncommon to cross over.
Wait a second about 52 000, it will be more than that, you will see that it will go up to 60 000 and more because you will also want to take the Toyota protection programs after the standard warranty period of only 36 months or 36.000 miles. Because for a Limited or Platinum you have a lot of "bells and whistles" and all those need to be protected. You will have to pay all the taxes, vehicle registration tax, delivery fee, and all kind of added things. Plus interest to the bank if it's going to be financed, even if you put a down-payment of half of the price.
Good overview, I went with the Platinum for the other amenities (HUD) etc. as you noted above. I also went with the gray leather, caramel is popular but wasn't a deal breaker. I looked at the Palisade as well, but the divorced head lights are not for me - seems to be a fad and may not look well over the years. You can't argue the value proposition on the Hyundai, but they don't have a hybrid option which only Toyota has in this segment right now. The Kia Sorenta has a hybrid for 2021, but is smaller and no AWD - due out later in the year I was told.
My 2021 toyota highlander limited hybrid only has a regular sunroof. But it has the 360 birds view and also heated windshield feature.. Also mines has the same size screen as the platinum. I'm in PA. Great video.
I have the 2020 Highlander Limited in FWD. I was able to get the captain chairs in the rear on mine, so it’s a 7 seater. I also have the optional navigation display that’s standard on the Platinum. The only real difference I see are the sunroof, rear ventilated seats, and slightly better headlights, and the rim design. I like the rims on the Limited better than those on the Platinum. So basically, I have a Limited with Platinum options, and I still came out cheaper than a Platinum. The only upgrade I would want and I’m going to my local dealer about this is now they can add a trailer hitch on the Limited and Platinum models. Previously, they were unavailable on them because of the hands free tailgate. Now they are available and they can be retrofitted to a 2020 model.
As functionally feature-rich as the Highlander is, Toyota oddly omitted a very useful feature that is common on other vehicles: the ability of the vehicle to auto-lock the doors after the driver has exited and walked away. Not a deal-breaker …. Our 2021 Highlander (loaded) Limited is a fantastic piece of engineering, but my other vehicle, a 2017 Honda CR-V, sticks its tongue out every time I exit it and walk away !

One more big difference between limited and Platinum that you didn’t mention is the screen size which make a big gap when you are driving and want to see the map, audio and other controls like air temperature system.
