Sugar, your reaction means so much to me. The tree trunk is about 6 ft in diameter now. The house is for sale. Our grand children are adults. To see a young lady with such a sweet heart as you react to the milestones of life is wonderful, I hope you find the young man that you treasure and he treasures you as my wife and I did for the journey.
Thanks for the selection, amigo. Brought back a lot of memories. I am deeply sorry for your loss, whenever it may have happened. May her memory always be for a blessing. 🙏
@@oldgeezer3324 hey my brother. So sorry for your loss. You and I are in the same boat. It’ll be two years this coming March but I will ask my wife I feel your pain but we will see them one day they are in a much better place we are the ones that suffer. Stay strong my brother God bless
I LOVE seeing young people react with such emotion to songs I grew up to. Bobby Goldsboro is a treasure. There is a TH-cam channel of Bobby Goldsboro’s 13 greatest hits. Well worth a listen! Hugs to the man who requested this!
I'm not a singer but I have an idea how. You see, I've given eulogies for my mom and brother. And I knew I needed to figure out how to deliver them while keeping my composure (for the record, I broke down when each of them died, in the hospital with mom and on the phone for my brother). Here's how I kept my cool - I told myself that this was their time, their day to honor, and not mine time to draw attention to my feelings; I had plenty of time for that before and after. So I sort of just shut down my emotions while I gave their eulogies. I suspect a singer goes through something of the same when dealing with emotional material such as Honey.

This song hits home to me too, I am one of those unfortunate people who lost my love unexpectedly, she left a four year old daughter and it broke me for years. Thank you for your time and your kindness on this channel. "IF NOTHING CAN SAVE US FROM DEATH, AT LEAST LOVE SHOULD SAVE US FROM LIFE"... Pablo Neruda.
You're not the only ones who loved this song. Even Mr. Goldsboro stated that he could've retired on this song. Thanks for the cry. Been only ten years since I lost my 'Honey' this month. Miss you, Betty.
A widower reminiscing about the love of his life who died too soon. He is still the faithful husband and is being good. The tree she had planted was still a twig. And the flower bed she had loved and use to take care of is still there. She had a great and loving husband. Awesome and emotional reaction to one of the greatest songs of 1968.
I lost the love of my life to leukemia when she was 23. Life has continued, but there is not a day hat has come and gone that has not included her in my heart. The place she held can never be filled. Saddest song ever written. Thank you for your uninterrupted viewing and heartfelt reaction.
Sweet Angela. Your tender reaction and comments touch a lot of people, I suspect, in a positive manner. The way you genuinely translated the lyrics here to your patron's heartfelt memories of his loved one demonstrate that you not only feel the music but you can also see the real lives lying behind the names/monikers of your subscribers. Your reactions are worth their weight in gold. Keep up the good work.
And now I’m the Old Geezer. It was amazing to see your reaction Angela. It’s true, when I was young (60 years ago) my mother always said, “There is nothing new under the Sun.” Times really haven’t changed much Angela. Your reaction is priceless and very revealing. You are a sweetheart Angela and I pray you find real love.
What is it that hath been? the same thing that shall be. What is it that hath been done? The same that shall be done. Nothing under the sun is new, neither is any man able to say: Behold this is new: for it hath already gone before in the ages that were before us.
n 1968 when this was a big hit, Dad used to whistle, hum, and sing this constantly. He drove my brother and I nuts. lol. not today, me being the last one left of that family, I can't get through this song without crying, wishing I could hear dad hum this once again. I figured out this song must have touched a nerve with him because he lost his mother when he was 18.
It happened to me 15 summers ago, and I'm still shedding tears for the umpteenth quadrillionth time......because that's how many tears there have been. She was an angel.
Bobby Goldsboro was from my hometown. I went to church and high school with his nephews who were really good folks. I never met him but my father knew him pretty well.
OMG! I am pushing 60 and this song was one of my mom's favorites. I am like Ole Geezer. I have not lost the love of my life yet, but this song is the epitome of what a life love is about. I was thoroughly impressed at your slow reaction to what this song was saying. I hope you have that love in your life or will find it. I am pushing 40 years with my "Honey". I cannot think of life without her. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful song.
Yesterday....04/11/2022 was the 18 year anniversary of my oldest brother receiving his wings.....this is the 1st time this song actually brought tears to my eyes!
I remember this song from when I was a kid. It always made me tear up understanding the loss being expressed and the love that was no longer, not because someone did wrong, but because :life" ... still makes me tear up.
I like that at the beginning of their marriage he thought that her sentimentality and nurturing nature were silly but came to appreciate her big heart that made his own heart grow.
I was a really young kid when this was on the radio. I remember singing the chorus and having no idea what the song was about. It hits different after you live some and lose some.
When someone passes away, it takes a piece of you with them.Your heart is shattered 💔 And all you have left are the memories. And grateful for the time you spent with them.
My late husband and I always loved this song. He has been gone nearly four years now. About a year before he died, he planted "just a twig." His tree towers over me today--and my relatives sometimes wonder why I haven't moved. Goldsborough also had a song called "Watching Scotty Grow" that my husband and I heard for the first time after our son, Scott, was born. Hubby made a collage of pictures of Scott at different early stages and captioned it "Watching Scotty Grow." I still have it, and Scott is 52 years old. I listened to "Honey" just months after my husband died, and made it through without tears. Hearing it today brought back memories and a downpour of refreshing tears. Thank you for posting.
Thank you, Angela. What a beautiful, beautiful reaction by you. This song evoked a lot of memories. I remember I was just a boy when this song came out and how much people would respond to it emotionally. Even I felt the power of its emotion at that young age, which I think is somewhat unusual. This was the song that I both loved and hated to listen to. It made me feel the message, which I loved, and it made me fight back the tears, which I hated. Because boys don't cry, right lol? Anyway, this was a fabulous selection by Old Geezer and my heart truly goes out to him. This was deep and beautiful all the way around. Here's to your next reaction! 🙏🙂💜
I know exactly what you mean, I too tear up listening to such songs, as well as Karen Carpenter, several others, I remember one song actually based on a true story, by Gordon Lightfoot, The sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
'Honey' tugs at the heartstrings as a whispery angel choir and chimes ring out when "Honey" departs this vale of tears. The fade when Goldsboro repeats first verse always leaves Mrs B with a lump in her throat. The big softie.
You are one of a kind! If only more people had the kind of compassion and empathy as you do, this life and world would be pretty close to being paradise!
Angela I've got to say that was the best reaction I've seen I could feel your emotions, thank you. and to guy that recommend this from one old geezer to another thank you and I'm really sorry your loss

Your heartfelt reaction was so touching, Angela. I can't listen to this song without shedding a couple of tears too. Though my wife is still with me, my youngest son is not. Listening to this song reminds me how much I miss him.
This was voted the sappiest song of the 20th century. BS. It's a good song. I remember playing it for my daughter when she was 10. She is now 30. I just sent this to her and I told her I teared up watching it today as she did 20 years ago and asked her to watch it. It's so enjoyable to watch these songs enjoyed for the first time by fresh ears. You do a fantastic job! I find myself smiling uncontrollably.
I knew this song as a young kid, hadn’t heard it in a while. A real tear jerker and yes I cried again, I sobbed and then you started! I saw you’re face the moment it hit your heart and that was it ,I really lost it! I’ve not had such an experience on line. I will remember this for ever. Thank you. Also to Old Geezer, the great thing is that you shared something deep and personal so you weren’t much help either. Hearing you and yours was when I broke the flood gates. I do hope you are happy and living life to the full. Blessings.
Anyone with a warm heart like you can not listen to this song and not tear up!!!!! Thank you for reacting to this childhood song of mine. So many great memories!!!
A superbly crafted tearjerker. All the references to tears and sadness, combined with the schmaltzy music, building up to the final denouement. It's worked on me since I was 11, and now I'm 67.
I was still very young when I heard this song and it wasn't until I'd heard it a few times that I really started to 'hear' the lyrics. I cried and after many years, I cried again hearing this song and seeing your reaction upon hearing when 'the angels came..' Stay safe 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I was a very little boy when I first heard this song. I cried and didnt know why then. This is a true tear jerker. Im 58 now and every memory just flahed through my heart as if I were 5 again. My dad crying at the table with a bottle of whiskey......I just didnt understand. I miss you dad!
Its a very sad & beautiful love song. I haven't heard it in decades. I remember, as a kid, when this song was a hit hitting top in the charts a comedy show called the Smothers Brothers did a comedy skit of this song, a bit of dry humor, something that show was known for & they were cutting edge at the time. Hearing this song again brought back that memory, guess they are forever connected for me.
Don't be ashamed to cry dear, this song and his voice always made me do it. More so since I lost my "Honey" just over 2 years ago. Occasionally I think I still hear her voice in the house. Although she is no longer her, my memories of the time we had will always be with me. I pray that you never have to feel that pain in your life.
I was 12 years old when this song came out in 1970 and have been crying just about everytime I have heard it since then but really hit home this time because my wife of 30 years passed away just over a year ago just shy of her 60th birthday. It's truly hard to deal with the loss of someone who spent half of their life with you and now they are gone and all you have are your memories together.
This song when I first heard it did not have the meaning it has today. I lost my wife six weeks after our 25th wedding anniversary and then lost the two girlfriends I had after my wife's death. They all died much too early and all died from cancer. Thank you for playing this as it brought back so many fond memories!
Angela, I loved your reaction, as this song always touched me the same it did you. I can now really tell you're a kind, caring person. Thank you for playing Bobby's great song & being able to watch it again WITH YOU ❤
You ask what do you say, when there gone. My answer is its only for a short time. I lost my mom a few months ago and I know without a doubt we will see each other soon. Have faith.
I have always loved this song. It first came out when my mom had just died and my dad would turn it up on the car radio when it came on. He did not say a word but I knew then he was thinking about her.
My god, my late father loved this song. Remember mom and dad, sitting in the living room, crying while this song was playing. My dad, had gotten orders to report to VIET - NAM, my late mom, would sit and listen to this song, and cry thinking of our dad. Our father, served 2 tours in VIET - NAM, being seriously injured, by a jumping Bennie ( land mine) listening to this song makes me cry, we lost our beloved mom, 1 year ago. Thank you for this blessed memory. RIP - MOM - DAD, miss you both dearly. Love you always, your family.
This song was #1 for a LONG time and is probably responsible for more tears being shed than any other. Your reaction was so sweet and tender. I already knew that you are beautiful both inside and out, but NOBODY could deny that after watching you here. You deserve such a forever love as this and I sincerely hope you find it
Honey I miss you, mom you gave me all these beautiful songs and you must have known I would be thinking of you when I heard them. I think of you always and, you will always be my butterfly that flew off into paradise, I'll see you on the other side mom when it's my time!!!
Bless Your Heart ❤️! You SO Got This Song! Like no Other Reactor Ever has! It's a Very Heart Breaking Song. My eyes Get Misty when the Back up singers come in , and he talks about how she was Home Alone . And the Angels Came! 😥💦 Gets to me Still! Loved Enjoying This with you Dear! Take care! 😘
I Literally had tears in my eyes allready in the first 20 seconds of this song ????? I heard it last time around 40 years ago...???? Now again ?????? Thanks to TH-cam now I know who this song belongs too...???? Pure Magic........
i am 68 and say this to the younger folks all the time/ i am sorry you didnt come up in my generations time .. . so many things then we exciting to hear and see .. yes we had our stuggles and troubles every generation does .. but we can look back and smile alot a those times .and u can live it through the songs ..songs like teddy bare red sovine .bobby goldsburro lonely .where can my baby be . .go rest high .. where youve been ..
Angela, I've lost a couple in my life, and if you don't mind, you're my "Honey" now, because you help me (and everyone) feel again. Such a beautiful soul you have ... and yes, I was crying along with you. What was really so special is seeing just how empathic you are ... I mean, I saw and FELT the arrow pierce your heart in the instant you realized what he was really singing about, and that shock and pain travelled right through you and into me. What an beautiful experience.
I was listening to dance music and I found a 1968 CD in his collection and this song came on.😢 It’s my favourite LOVE SONG! And it’s old but I love it! I cry all the time when it comes on.😇
Still trying to get over the loss of my wife fromm 6 months ago. This song makes me cry and so does your reaction. That you for caring for that man. You are a kind person.
I love your heartfelt reaction to this song. This song came out in '68, I was born in '69 and first time I heard it I cried, and I'm still crying! 😭🤧 Bless you 🙏❤️ Have you heard "Patches" by Clarence Carter or "Better Days" by Dianne Reeves? Heads up, you're gonna need more tissues 😢🤧
Another nostalgic tune! These types of tunes really tell a tale! So many memories and so many experiences one goes through! I hope you play Could It Be Magic by Barry Manilow at some point! Now that song is truly miraculous and magical! Goodbye cats!
Your sentiments at the end are spot on. It's so hard to say to anyone who has just loved their partner/parent/friend/son or daughter, etc. how sorry you are for their loss because "sorry" just doesn't seem sufficient.

Although she is no longer her, my memories of the time we had will always be with me. I pray that you never have to feel that pain in your life.
Love your reaction Angela..i lost my wife in 2016 ..brought me to tears as well..love the channel love from tucker..London England 🏴💙
I love genuine reactions. Angela, you are a lovely lady.
Hard not to tear up to this classic
Hey beautiful girl, lovely reaction to this great, but sad song. Your reaction made me cry more.
My fathers favorite song and a huge hit in the 60's. I thought that would get to you.
Respect to Old Geezer, for picking the greatest song ever, for your loss.
Love you, man.
Thank you for playing Bobby's great song & being able to watch it again WITH YOU ❤
i really love how you listen between the lines
I lived this song more then once. Your reaction was heart touching and yes I cried too. I remember this performance.
You ask what do you say, when there gone. My answer is its only for a short time. I lost my mom a few months ago and I know without a doubt we will see each other soon. Have faith.
I'm 67 and it still brings the tears
I have always loved this song. It first came out when my mom had just died and my dad would turn it up on the car radio when it came on. He did not say a word but I knew then he was thinking about her.
You truly have a good heart & soul 💛
It makes many of us cry bc we have lost a love.
So glad it touched you too.

This was the number one Billboard song the day I was born.
You are so sincere best reaction ive seen!😊
I cry all the time when it comes on.😇
Old Geezer knew he would see you cry hearing this. If you want more tears try Last Kiss by J. Frank Wilson.
Still trying to get over the loss of my wife fromm 6 months ago. This song makes me cry and so does your reaction. That you for caring for that man. You are a kind person.
😮 I'd like to find a Hong Kong band hope you're gonna music A.Test all about all of it coming out right? Now I was I o l good
I love your heartfelt reaction to this song. This song came out in '68, I was born in '69 and first time I heard it I cried, and I'm still crying! 😭🤧
Bless you 🙏❤️
Have you heard "Patches" by Clarence Carter or "Better Days" by Dianne Reeves? Heads up, you're gonna need more tissues 😢🤧
Another nostalgic tune! These types of tunes really tell a tale! So many memories and so many experiences one goes through! I hope you play Could It Be Magic by Barry Manilow at some point! Now that song is truly miraculous and magical! Goodbye cats!
Your sentiments at the end are spot on. It's so hard to say to anyone who has just loved their partner/parent/friend/son or daughter, etc. how sorry you are for their loss because "sorry" just doesn't seem sufficient.
