I love when you react to things twice (april 4)! This is the most joyful performance! Apparently this was the first time they ever performed this song live together!
Great song ! Saw that show in Philly that year. I think their big trick that year was having the giant Q with all the lights move. It actually moved down, with the lights doing their thing, until it almost encircled them. Very cool effect. Their shows never cease to be amazing
just love your reviews, sat in bed, insomnia strikes, just recently been diagnosed with early onset parkinsons, so a bit stressed, thank you for keeping me company xx
I'm sorry to hear that, I know how scary a diagnosis of something like that can be, trust me. But I'm glad that I can help keep you company, and help divert your attention for a little while! 🧡
Oh man I knew you did this review a while back. I told people on twitter to come watch and subscribe. I think Adam was born to sing this song. Freddie would love seeing Brian and Roger so happy. His music being heard and being done so well. I would love an acoustic album also. You would think Adam fronting Queen would turn some suit heads. But we all know. We love and admire this incredible man's glorious vocals. We need to start insisting that radio play him. Coming from a radio background. Call and call and request that his songs be played. They can't deny that!
I appreciate you sharing me with Twitter, that's very cool of you! But yeah, radio has become so corporate and automated these days, they hardly even need DJ's anymore. Sometimes technology can suck.
Shaun the man, you're on the ball today - thank you so much for your response and the video; that audience was showing adoration for Queen and Adam Lambert; how often do you see men weeping for any band or any vocalist. October 2nd, my wish comes true.
This song never fails to make me smile. Another performance that does that for me was a performance of I Want to Break Free from a 2012 concert at the Hammersmith Odeon (formerly Apollo) in London. This was when they were first introducing the collab to the UK to see how it would be received and obviously it went well. I love this particular performance because something unexpected and funny happens to Adam during it but he keeps going the professional he is. It is a fan shot video but its a good one and up close. Here's the link - th-cam.com/video/7OuWJgG4ios/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for posting the link to this performance! I've been searching for it for a long time without being able to find it. Definitely an amusing moment, and he handles it beautifully.
LOL I just discovered that concert the other day. It was funny but awesome too. I also found the Dragon Attack one with the red coat and the ending of it on 07.12.2012. Loved it. th-cam.com/video/bK_NxD-q45k/w-d-xo.html
Brian achieves his unique tone by using a British coin instead of a guitar pic. It gives that great growly tone and it’s awesome. Adams previous music before velvet is mired in so many labels and reps that it’d be a nightmare to do an ADAM LIVE compilation, as much as we fans would love it. Maybe one day.
IG: "brianmayforreal Licensed tease ! From the upcoming Live Around the World album. This moment in Japan was the first time we had EVER played this song all together as QAL in front of an audience. Beginners’s luck - huh ?!"
Hey Shaun, me again. Ask and you shall receive - about Adam and an acoustic album. Back in 2010? he released Adam Lambert Acoustic Live, an EP of about five songs, the audio mostly from radio appearances he'd done around the world. I think it was Mad World and the other four were from his debut For Your Entertainment. I checked and its still available on Amazon. I also tend to get carried away LOL and put together a list of acoustic performances he did in those early years + a recent rendition of a Queen song. Some songs you've reacted to in other productions but I'm giving the best I could find. The first grouping are songs I don't believe you've reacted to before and the ones I recommend highly if you only want to react to a few. Consider the second grouping bonus tracks. I really hope you react to the first group. I always feel a bit sad when I see Queen with Adam Lambert. Brian and Roger say they don’t want a Freddie duplicate but why sing all the same songs over and over. I don’t understand why they don’t try some of there own stuff with Adam as both Brian and Roger had solo efforts they could use. This is a Freddie Mercury song from his solo album so why appropriate it to Queen. Can’t help feel that Adam is a bit of a puppet and a master of karaoke! Just a thought! I am such a huge Freddie and original Queen fan! Feeling sad! X
I agree that they should record new material, but I don't mind them playing the greatest hits. They're attracting an entire new generation of fans with Adam, that will ensure that the Queen legacy lives on for many more years to come.
Yes! Of course your right Shaun Stackhouse! It’s just that Adam can be a bit Cabaret sometimes singing Queens greatest hits. I was a huge fan of Freddie’s Album Mr Bad Guy and I find it frustrating that Brian thinks that by adding a guitar solo in the middle of it will somehow improve it! If Freddie had wanted a guitar solo in the middle of ‘I was born to love you’ then he would have produced it in that way. Although I’m sure a Freddie would have loved the flamboyant nature of Adam Lambert! X
I get where you're coming from, but Freddie could be just as cabaret as Adam can be at times. The thing that I've learned about Adam is that he's a great showman and singer. That combination is a pretty rare thing to find these days. There were a lot of great bands during the grunge era, but many put on boring live shows, because they just stared at their shoes for the entire concert.
Yes! Of course your right again! And I’m glad that people are more exposed to the phenomenon that is Queen! Adam is a great showman and an amazing singer in his own right but what I mean about him being cabaret is not in his showmanship but in the theatrical tone of his voice where as Freddie had a strong direct tone! But that’s probably just a personal preference! Have you thought about reacting to Freddie’s original recording and video of ‘I was born to love you’ to do a comparison reaction’
@@jaked9161 Brian has done an interview where he talks about why they included IWBTLY on their Made in Heaven album and why they rearranged it to sound how it would have had they been able to play it live with Freddie.
This song was mega over there in Japan, the Queen version. they still use it in commercials today and they just had to do it. Beauty performance
I love when you react to things twice (april 4)! This is the most joyful performance! Apparently this was the first time they ever performed this song live together!
Hahaha. I'm glad I can amuse you!
Shaun as someone who's experienced Queen with Freddie as well as Adam live I totally get your appreciation of their performances.

I never get tired of this video. I just love it! I wish he would put out an acoustic album also. Thanks Shaun.
An acoustic album would be most excellent. You're welcome!

Thank you so much for this reaction!! I love this song, Queen & Adam Lambert!!
You're welcome!
This Was Also An Amazing Performance! Definitely In My Top 10 For Sure! I Hope This Is On The CD/DVD Collection On October 2! 😉
Me too!
It is!!!!! :)
Yes i have said for some time i would love for Adam to put out an acoustic album!!

Music is the only thing on Earth that has th ability to do such things. It's a kind of magic in that way, pun intended. 😉
Thank you Shaun! Talking about Adam's voice... you also have a nice voice to listen to!
Well, thank you very much! I appreciate that! :)
Thanks for this review Shaun! I agree Adam doesn’t get enough radio love. An acoustic album would be awesome. The more the better in regards to Adam.
Thanks Shaun. Loved this performance. It felt like he was singing that song just to me.
I'm glad you liked it!
I love Adam
