As an experienced mount and blade player I find that drawing on a mix of troops and the Swadians will often supplement my Vaegir troops with their heavily armored cavalry and sergeants and some crossbowmen who do more damage per hit while archers fire faster and farther I use archers as my main ranged unit especially since Vaegirs favor two handed axes which make them more effective against cavalry while in melee and somewhat more effective against Nord shield walls but typically it works better when they are supported by a flanking maneuver
Guide to Khergeits: "the best Cav on the game" Guide to the Sarranids: "The powerful Cav in the Game" Guide to the Swadians: "The Strongest Cav in the game" That does not sound so convincing
I am doing a play through with them. I developed a really good siege tactic with them - Hard and continual crossbow lines, having 30 or so Sharpshooters lining up In a spread out set up and just shooting all their bolts until they get low In numbers. And when fighting other enemies, I aim to be on a hill so their firing range is good so they act like snipers. The Saranids are weak to that, and I kill 50-60 defenders each raid, as their Infantry is weak to being hit. And when their ranged units get killed off their other units lack of defense Is showing as they get shot down very quickly. Second, I ascertained a awesome castle, one on such a hill that I stole from the Rodocks, and the Saranids sent 2-3 500 size armies against me and my minor garrison (As I am limited In funds) - They got decimated being shot by Sharpshooters from all angles upon attacking. Resulting In 9 deaths and 19 wounded my side and 380 dead on their side as they had no cover when attacking. ~ Overall I find them fun, But I managed to succeed due to using actual tactics, as most the lords are doing not much at all or doing a massive mob attack - When now having a feast lol, making me one of the few actually keeping the border free of attacks and doing counter-attacks with my massive skirmish force (Not respected for that of course) The pushes against the Saranids was only possible because of me, yet they give me little support In keeping Saranid numbers low so they don't have death stacks.
