My #1 tip for those starting this one is to get research building at once and gathering posts over left 3 piles the top 3. Make sure to have the metal one up before the cold hits. I do beacon first to get materials needed faster. Make sure to get tents (123 by the bottom center, skip the next space for the arena, and follow 12 then medical. You have space for food hut and medical housing.) Food can go under top ark. The rest is up to you.👍

You can skip heating the arks on the first chill with no problem
That is good advice! Gathering posts and the beacon are life savers early on.
