Thanks for your Vid. 4:43 you were in Drumcondra, first urban village after leaving the motorway. 5:07 Drumcondra train station and you pass under the bridge for the train. 5:26 Whitworth Road, passing over sunken train line and parallel canal. If you had looked the other way you would have seen Croke Park. You then turn left off Drumcondra Road and at 5:58 you are entering the northern Georgian Quarter, centred on Mountjoy Square. 6:24 you pass Findlater's Church at the top of Parnell Square At. 6:30 what you see as a park, is the National Garden of Renembrance a tribute to fallen Irish heros, where the late Queen Elizabeth laid a wreath during her visit to Ireland in 2012. The garden is at the rear of the Rotunda Hospital, from 6:35 one of the earliest maternity hospitals founded in 1745. At 6:42 you pass the Gate theatre and Amabasador Cinema, both originally built as part of entertainment rooms at the entrance to a pleasure garden all to raise funds for the hospital, which you can see in the background at 6:54, and again at 6:57 after you pass the Parnell Monument. You are now in O'Connell Street. 8:41 crossing the river Liffey on O'Connell Bridge. Hope you enjoy your stay.
Thanks so much what a great piece of information for everyone
My town Drummer ❤
Helpful info, thank you 👍☘️
Plenty of Uber in Dublin
i visited dublin when i was a lot younger in my seafaring days in the merchant navy many times. lovely city, lovely people, have a great time!
You should go back see what has changed
7:52 The General Post Office (GPO) O'Connell Street - Formerly Sackville Street - where the Rebels fought the British Army in 1916 - bullet holes still visible today.
Stop blaming the Brits. It was the oofing Normans that kicked off the usurpation...
@@DeirdreMcNamara I'm not 'blaming anybody' - I just made a statment of fact not blame - which fact do you disagree with ?
I am😂
@@DeirdreMcNamara you win the internet today for most idiotic uneducated dumb comment , congrats
Haven't been for a few years. I forgot how lovely it was. Looking forward to the rest of your trip.
It was so nice
I always think Dublin has a very cosmopolitan feel about it. Glad you both had a great time 😊
Yes I agree it's lovely
With all the migrants?
Too cosmopolitan! You couldn't turn a corner without bumping into an old friend or acquaintance. Now...hmmm... might as well be the New York Subway. Avoid eye contact.
@@Kitiwake Ah ffs give it a rest. Every UK, US, Canadian, Australian, NZ, Thai, South American city is packed full of Irish migrants - Irish economic migrants who are not fleeing war or persecution...Irish people who want to make money in warmer places who have less of a right to be in those countries than many others, or is that too uncomfortable a truth for you and your bigoted buddies? Pack it in or leave to join the EDL.🙄
We went to visit my daughter in Dublin. She advised us to buy a city run about ticket from a travel desk in the airport. We had a nice view from the top deck of the regular service bus and the ticket was very good value. She told us to avoid the "Air Bus"
Oh wow! Next time
The liffey River splits the city into 2 sections Grafton Street, Temple bar are southside ! GPO , Penny's are northside 😂
Steeped in history I don't know all the stories but so interesting
Have a lovely time 🇨🇮 great your over to see dublin
Thanks! 😃what a place
@@MrTravelONWorld go to fortune terrace chinese buffet in o connell Street 👋😊
They are visiting Ireland Susan, not the Ivory Coast😊
🤣 I need glasses
Ryan air like to make you walk half way to your destination, before boarding the plane in Dublin airport.
Ryanair does this in every airport it goes to. Have you ever flown Ryanair through Stanstead? What a hike.
I love Dublin i go there often as have friends in Dublin,
We really enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing Dublin. I did not expect this video.
Me neither
8:51 Contrary to popular belief, O'Connell bridge isn't a perfect square, it's wider than it is long by a mere five metres, and therefore it's the only traffic bridge in Europe wider than it is long.
Wow thanks
Love how clean it is.
Its lovely
Are you joking ?
@@ken.f.c.1977 no
@@MrTravelONWorld well you need to look closer
The buses 16 and 41 run from / to the airport. The ticket costs around 2€. The trip is included in the Leap Visitor Card
Thanks
As a Greek who will move into Ireland Dublin in November I’d say thanks for sharing this.
Pleasure
That was definitely along walk in the airport looks a lovely place thanks dave and Jack ❤❤
Thanks susan
Surely the long walk is worth the good value fare with Ryanair?
Stay out of Temple Bar,a tourist trap.
It is a bit of craic though and he is a tourist.
I agree with this wholeheartedly, but on the other hand if you are in Dublin for the night most tourists would enjoy the experience.. after all, what is a tourist trap if it’s not for tourists! You would really be missing so much if your only experience was temple bar, also I feel you miss so much if your only experience of Ireland is Dublin.
OR go wherever you like and make your own mind up!
Have a great time, Dublin is beautiful.
Thank you, I will
Lovely Dublin videos, looks like a really nice place. I miss your Lanzarote videos though!! 🌋🏖️
Back soon
Me too, can’t wait til December 😊
Blue bus a great service .Use it always going from Cork to the airport.Went to Synotts bar @ food lately Great meal there. Its south side
Good service there shocking back mate
We'll be taking the bus to Cork in September...cheap as chips!
The park you referred to a 6.30 is the garden of rememberence where queen Elizabeth laid a wreath on the 17th may 2011 for the fallen who fought for irish independance.
Amazing place
@MrTravelONWorld thought it was for the world wars
Thats The Royal Canal your going over, comes from another county, Kildare. If you were to take a right there and go down to the end of that road youd be right in the centre of Phibsborough.
Thanks for sharing
6:55 the tram is called the LUAS, the network consists of two lines which don't connect with each other...
Thanks so much
Great review and commentary. I was mislead by your heading to your vid. I was thinking what was the down side to the Aircoach trip. But I was amazed at the good comments you made. I hope you come back to Dublin again soon. A lot of Brits come to this country for a staycation. We know it’s expensive too. But the real Ireland is the West of the Country. Dublin is very Cosmopolitan like any big city.
On and end note. O Connell Bridge is the only Bridge in the World that’s wider than it is longer. True Fact.
Yes I 100% am coming back
If you have time, you must do the kilmainham gaol (jail) tour. Fascinating but book ahead or you have to queue very early in the morning.
Next time
You will find out about the brutality of British colonialism
Awh good ole Dublin ! Love it
Me toi
You are in Drumcondra you passed Fagan’s pub I just live up the road then you cave to Fredrick street then O Connell street enjoy 😀
Great
The chinese buffet is over priced but the GPO post office has alot of history & a place to see
Loved the place
The name of the tram is called Luas as it’s being running 20 years. And the restaurant at O’Connell Street is Supermacs, Irish version of McDonald’s
Cheers mate great input
@@MrTravelONWorld If I had of known you were still in Dublin on Tuesday, I would taken you and your son a few places, only walking distance away, like one of the music venues, I think the oldest in Dublin, if not all of Ireland and Temple Bar and show you were the actual EarthCam webcam at Temple Bar and a few things in the city centre
Hope you lads are having a rare old time in Dublin, or as they call it down my way "the big smoke ".
Ha ha loved it
5;17 - Drumcondra, Dublin... Fagans Pub is the local pub for Bertie Aherne, ex Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland
Hi Dave not sure if you are aware but this video isn’t showing on your channel feeds. It only plays automatically after viewing your B’ham to Dublin latest uploaded video..
Regards Ade.
It is now mate
The air coach service is brilliant as there is a service to Cork every hour 24 hours of the day from 28 euros return ( online booking) Takes 3.5 hours, except for flying to Cork from Dublin, you can’t get a faster service than this. There’s a coach goes to Galway as well and to Belfast. Not sure of the timetable for those destinations. I would be lost without this service.
Great thing to get around
Aircoach for express to cork or Belfast. Citylink express to Galway.
Lovely video. I agree with you about the e-gates at passport control - they're ok until they don't work! The Aircoach is a very comfortable bus. The Dublin Express service is also very good. I hope you enjoyed your time in Dublin. You got us on a very sunny day! I understand if you're feeling a holiday vibe - Dublin is a very popular tourist destination. I have eaten at the Fortune Chinese buffet once - it's ok for a quick meal, but I didn't find it very relaxing. I think people just go in, eat and go. Temple Bar is ok, very touristy, but there are some nice restaurants there. I would recommend anyone visiting Dublin to spend some time at one of the nice seaside suburbs - Howth or Dún Laoghaire, or go a little further to Bray or Greystones - all served by the DART train routes from Connolly Station. The National Botanic Gardens is a good place to spend a day, too.
Thanks so much Sandra
Welcome to the island Mr Travelon.Don't forget the sunscreen.
Weather was good
4.24 to 5.53 you were traveling through Drumcondra along Drumcondra Road past Fagans pub then onto Dorset St. (pronounced door-set street by us Dubs)🙄🤭
Great thanks so much
I recommend the best theatre restaurant in town Trocodero 👌 you might see some famous faces in there plus my dear friends own it
Lots of nice pubs and restaurants around there too.
Hope you had a great time with your son in my beautiful country
Yes, thank you we loved it back soon
If you can go Kerry Galway clare and Donegal all on the west coast of Ireland, just a suggestion.
I have been to the fortune terrace buffet, it’s good with nice views. The Temple bar area is popular, but in my opinion not so nice in the daytime and that whole area down by the river has lots of graffiti and even open drug use, beggars etc that is very very unusual in Ireland. I hope I don’t, get too much hate for saying this, but get out of Dublin for a much much nicer experience and you really don’t need to go far. Generally the people are great wherever you are, but again don’t hate me for saying but as a visitor you will find people generally much more friendly outside of Dublin. This is all just my opinion based on the 7 years I have lived here and travelled extensively. I typically do not like big cities anyway, to be fair Dublin is cleaner and safer than most capitol cities.
Hey Andrew we didnt see much of that but yes normal city center next time we will explore further
I leave Dublin to come to Lanzarote at the same time as you’ve left here to go to Dublin 😂
Ha ha we go the other way
Uber does work in Dublin, the were in Dublin, then they left and now they are back. This might explain the confusion but I am certain there is Uber in Dublin.
Yes they worked I used them a couple of times
O Connell Bridge to Temple Bar a short walk, would not necessarily need a Taxi.
Yes realised that after
@@MrTravelONWorld I let out a gasp when I heard you saying that in the vid. A decent taxi driver would have pointed that out to you.
O'Connell st very popular but the best area is grafton st, & temple bar, the other side if the liffey the half penny bridge
The South William Street and South Great George's St area has much more to offer than Temple Bar or O'Connell Street.
Can you do a review of the airport toilets please? ❤
Good idea
I'm from Ireland derry girls lol. Your a very watchable and likeable person and your sidekick. Loved it ❤
Thanks so much Gary
Go back mate , We need U on Lanzarote 😢 . We just take off to Lanzarote from Belfast today LOL😊
I'm back mate here this week
If it was a long walk in the airport, you must have flown with Ryanair!
Yes indeed
I thought you never left the Canary Islands or Spain. And was always there
Sometimes ha ha
Good video, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
5:11 Drumcondra Road / Drumcondra railway station
I think you said in Birmingham that Ryanair have their hubs at the end of the terminals - keeps their costs down but good exercise in Dublin - you shop be well use of that Dave - Don’t be spending your money in Temple Bar “ Expensive “ probably a bit late now - Grafton Street area is nice - Stephen’s Green and a great young Vibe with a continental feel with outdoor coffee shops and restaurants ☘️👍
Me spend ha ha dont be silly
Temple Bar a terrible tourist trap with inflated prices. Much better restaurants and pubs within 200 metres of it.
Hope you had a good time with jack 🤣👍
Loved it met some strange people though in Wetherspoons
@@MrTravelONWorld that cheap aul place ,only temple bar for me Dave 🤣🤣
You just passed Parnell st very famous st ( when you mentioned the tram)
Love it
You could've got the #41 Dublin Bus to town from the airport bud, fair bit cheaper and possibly faster, 2.70 I think...you know for next time lol
Yes next time
The 41 is a local bus service and doesn't use the motorway so must be longer. Same applies to the No,16
Must be the only person who ever drove down O'Connell St and said "Wow, it's beautiful!!" 🤣
Ha ha im from Birmingham
Welcome. Sorry you are staying in temple bar. Nicer other areas ☘️
Next time!
Yes the long walk in the airport is because you used Ryanair who famously make their passengers walk so they save on rent for the more expensive gates. Same in London Stanstead and everywhere realy.
Nice one Dave, i've never visited Ireland either. How long were you on the Aircoach for?
35 mins mate more or less
The number 16 and 41 bus would have cost you €3
@@alanfairbrother890 But as they are local bus services they are a good deal slower and less comfortable. Also, they only take cash (coins) and I have seen lots of newly-arrived visitors being lectured by the bus drivers about this, as though it should have been obvious to someone who has just arrived in a new country. 🙄
By the way there is Uber and of course freenow which is more expensive. Uber is in all the big cities now
Yes I found out in the end
Uber in Dublin just gets you a taxi in Ireland, not a private person using their own car, like in other places.
You must have flown in with Ryan air , ah there great they land real near the airport to be fair
Would the Belfast to Dublin express bus be just as good?
I asume so
Dublin absolutely stunning, it’s a good job mrs travelon isn’t with you because the shops are amazing. Thank Dave and jack have a great time.
Glad you enjoyed it yes she would have loved it
How did you miss croke Park, one of the biggest stadiums in Europe.
Back soon
I could never understand people getting this or the Dublin bus equivalent that was a tenner(if that still runs) when you can just hop on the #16 for 3 beans.
Didn't know was in a rush
@@MrTravelONWorld They kind of hide that fact for obvious reasons!
Welcome to Ireland, obviously you took a Ryanair flight there's great company ,they land real near the airport to be fair
They must have had a special bus laid on for you, buddy. Most of my bus trips - I've become allergic to certain taxi drivers in both JFK and Dub, which isn't fair to most, but the bus is safer for a gal - have been quite different. Lovely once you're on and it gets going but a lot of standing and waiting otherwise.
I heard rumors that the sauds built and own Terminal 3. With all the glass and concrete looks probable; after all they're made from sand and guess which countries have the most sand to sell... marine sand is not good, so... hmm...
Anyway, back to work ... cheers and glad you had a good time!
Terminal 3 where? Dublin only has T1 and T2 and the entire airport is State-owned.
Thanks Deidre
There is Uber in Ireland it just uses normal taxis
Yes we found out
Temple bar give that a miss Dave £10 a pint defo need meditate if u went there lol enjoy bud. Great work.
I need
Watch your purse in temple bar pub
Sorry but they don’t charge pounds in Temple bar and a pint is not €11-12
We don't accept sterlings in Dublin.
Get the 41 bus half as cheap
Yes next time
@@MrTravelONWorld But you need to pay on board with euro coins unless you already have a Leap card (like the Oyster Card in London).
Its only about €2 on the normal Dublin bus into city centre.....
Next time
Local bus service goes around the houses so takes longer.
Long walk because Ryanair will only pay for furthest/cheaper plane stands.
I suppose one of the reasons Ryanair competitive prices.
Haha yes
Oh no. Temple bar 🤣🤣🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ Why? Ah you will learn. Enjoy 👍
Exactly!
Yep there is Uber but Freenow is more popular - welcome to Dublin!
Thanks
The Uber app simply connects you to a regular taxi company,.so not Uber in the accepted sense.
@@46kevs local laws apply
Don't go to Temple Bar go to the local bars and you'll have a decent welcome and a pint that's not rushed. Erin go bragh
That wow building is the GPO
Yes found out later lovely
Drinking in Dublin is way too expensive unless you go to Wetherspoons. Avoid temple bar.
Yes we found Weatherspoons
That is some walk to passport control!!!
Yes long
The tour buses is the best way to get around, you can hop on & off all day it cover the tourist sites, & think its about €12, i wouldnt recommend the waxworks tho 🙈🙈🙈 its pityiful 🤣🤣🤣🥳
could have just got the 16 bus from the airport for just 2 euro (takes about 15 minutes longer)
Yes will do next time
Dublin City buses would have been cheaper than Private Aircoach company but probably not as comfortable with luggage etc.
Yes next time I'll do that
It might have been more helpful if you had done a little research about Irish history etc. If you are that ignorant about Ireland and Irish culture, it would definitely have made your trip to Dublin more informative and worthwhile. Just to give you one example. The big building with the pillars is the historic General Post Office { GPO } . Just so you know, It has huge historic significance regarding our struggle for independence from Britain..
I was there for a meeting at Google NOT to see the history of Dublin. If you want historical information follow a historian I'm just a normal bloke showing people what I see. It would be more helpful if you did some research on my channel and who I am before commenting but sometimes we are all ignorant hey
@@MrTravelONWorld Good on ya mate :)

I think your passing Finglas the home of Mrs Brown's Boys 🤣🤣🤣
No he passed Drumcondra and Fagans pub ,then on ito Dorcet St then Nt.Frederick st then O Connell st .
They have Uber in Dublin though free Now is more common
Yes I saw that one just didn't want to download an app and register for 2 days
Don’t really like Aircoach, there’s too many stops. But really depends where you’re going. If going to city centre Dublin Express is better
Yes will try different next time
City centre is the 2nd and 3rd stop on 700 aircoach though?
TUI ON Dublin Airport
I hope you brought your Visa Card...12 Euro for a pint of beer in Temple Bar...RIP OFF OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.
Crazy
I wish people would give the Temple Bar thing a rest. It's one street with a few pubs that overcharge. There are loads of pubs around the city centre where the pint is more reasonably priced.
stay away from O'Connell street at night. A junkies paradise.
Thanks
Air coach does one part of dublin......Air bus does the other...maybe AirBus would have got you to your hotel
Maybe

You obviously don’t understand the Ryanair model. Not a airbridge you’ll get
If you need a tent, go to the Canal.
Ha ha
@@MrTravelONWorld Apologies, that slipped out.
Just curious about when you visited, all the videos I’ve seen recently show very few native Irish and an overwhelming amount of migrants on the streets.I thought Penny’s was closed and being converted into luxury apartments when I was there a couple of years ago, but maybe I’m not remembering correctly and it was in another building on O Connell street
