Terminal 1 is the original terminal so it's a bit shabbier than T2. T2 is much bigger, airier and modern and handles all Aer Lingus flights and some long haul carriers. Everyone else (including Ryanair) are T1. Important to know too that Ryanair departure gates are aways at the very end of hallway so it's a decent 10-15 walk after security to your gate. There's also an air-side bar which has an open patio area for smokers. ;)
Another little tip is to go into terminal 2 and through security there and just walk along up to ur gate then in terminal one. Always much quieter in T2 and very fast through security.
Agree about the Aircoach service. It's very good for getting you into the city, but my advice would be to book the journey back to the airport using on their app, as if there are any big sporting events on in the UK, the coaches are often booked out, and waiting 30 mins for another one, can put you under pressure. There are plans agreed to build a rail route into the city, but I probably won't be around to see it. Great honest vid. Keep them coming. ☘️

Hi Dave - really enjoyed your videos of Dublin - did you enjoy our capital city (excluding the rip off prices) ? I am glad you highlighted the issues in getting back to the airport - a capital city, our minister is from the Green Party and we have no train system from anywhere in Dublin to get to the ” International Airport “ a joke - safe travels back to Lanzarote and maybe I might get to see you in person next week ! ☘️👍
You can go through security in either terminal and walk between both of them airside without any issues, it can save a lot of time at certain times of the day when there is a lot of a particular flight type but not much of the other, they will be loads of evening mostly Ryanair flights from T1 in the evening but little to no longer haul flights from T2. Mid mornings are very busy from T2 with Mostly USA flights and T1 at this time is s lot quieter. It’s a good insiders tip 😊 The Dublin Airport app is also very useful for finding out your likely gate hours in advance which is very useful so you can beat the scrum and those misleading screens. The screens are interesting too, as say if your in a particular area close to the flight gate it might say gate displays at E.g. 17:00 but if your in the wrong area it will tell you the gate number so you can get closer to it

You were within walking distance on O'Connell bridge of two Aircoach stops, closest one was going back towards temple bar on that main road, blue stop! The website is shite and not really updated but gives you enough basic info with basic map of your nearest stop, (Westmoreland - near Templebar) I'd not fly Ryanair btw..given that they use Boeing planes and the new ones which some are in the news lately
different airlines in each terminal .you can get the air coach from Westmoreland street to the airport which is just before the other side of oconnell bridge that you got off when coming from the airport.
Remember you are in a very expensive country! GDP per capita: Ireland $103K, UK $46K and Spain $29K. Now people can argue all they want about how GDP is calculated, but from a tourist point of view, if you are going to a country that is double or triple the country you are coming from it is going to be expensive.
