      what bums me out most....is that they never met and talked game after they were out the league...he was even telling tony he was trying to meet among drinks or cigars to talk about their days crossing swords....and i can tell that un-had conversation cuts deep with tony...they could have been more than competitors with respect for eachother and crossed more into peers....and even tony knew...MAN....kob tryna build a bridge with me....a specialist.....class act. Tony rondo and KG were the only celtics i could regard with any respect as a laker die hard...bc i knew they were no bs all ball

      *The Rules changed by the NBA prevent that Defense and Defensive play we all love* Which many peope don't point out. 1950s - mid 2000s is probably best defensive basketball we will see, especially in 90s and early 2000s.

      @k.lee28 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@andylee6147 I understand that I'm with you but *the Refs enforce the rules that NBA wants and implements* it sucks because it cheapens the integrity of the game itself. Today's game has little to no hard perimeter defense Gray Payton, Tony Allen, MJ, Pippen Rodman, many great defenders (Rookies can enter into the league and have no defensive game, all defensive concepts are switches, play passing lanes to get steals, and impede the opponents progress to the basket) you don't even see challenges at the rim for blocks anymore like how 4x Defensive Player of the Year Dikembe mutombo & Ben Wallace use to do, you see a lot of *lane clear outs*
      This why I don't agree with analysts like Stephen A Smith who down play today's game calling it soft. *Its Soft to degree because The NBA is responsible for the rules changes NOT the players, the players just play under them* if the NBA didn't change the rules then everyone would've played under the same rules however the game does evolve as times goes on to a degree but *what was wrong with the Rules from the 90s to early 2000s nothing in my opinion* but you had *great impacts & Events like Bad Boy Pistons, NY Hardnose Knicks and the Pacers 2004 Malice in the Palace which change the NBA forever!*
      and that's way the rules changed but shouldnt have in my opinion.

      Because he came in telling people he would be better than mj players/coaches/media didn't like a 17yr kid saying that back then

    If 6’4 213 tony Allen could guard guys and have Kobe and kd say he’s the best defender they have been guarded by I don’t see why Gilbert arenas say Scottie pippen 6’9 long arms 210 and Rodman 6’6 210 couldn’t be a great defender into today’s game🙁

    • @thebxsavage
      @thebxsavage 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Height and weight don’t equal defense. With that being said, Rodman and Pippen would be all-time defenders in any era of basketball.

    Kobe was the kind of player you have to study to guard. He was extremely un predictable. we all knew he would most likely shoot it but that's not what I was referring to when saying unpredictable. We didn't know how he would get it done. sometimes he would look trapped or well guarded and yet he finds a way. Still haven't seen a basketball player today besides maybe Steph Curry surprise me and have that unpredictability.
