The original still reigns supreme. The transition from zany pirates over to a fight for survival is so great. It really does exemplify the themes of the original DKC games. They had such a playful appearance, but were "hiding" some pretty serious topics beneath the surface. But mainly pollution....

I will say this, it's interesting to hear just how little it's changed. I mean, sure, different instruments/synthesizers get used, but it sounds very similar. That is...until Ultimate.

K. Rool's theme went from something I could sleep listening to... To something people play at rock bands.
The GBA version may be lower-fidelity, but it absolutely bops. It almost sounds like an electric guitar.
