Hello Viorel, I have a Roland G 1000 and it is developing a problem with the LCD display in that the colour is fading, it is strange that if I lean back I can see that the writing looks normal but leaning forward when I want to edit it looks pale I can hardly make it out, upon looking around to try to find a part for it I stumbled on your site, you know so much about the Rolands that I thought I would trouble you for some advice as I can't a find a part anywhere and I am feeling sad that if the light goes out thats it, otherwise the keyboard is in great condition as I have looked after it with service etc. I am wondering if you can help as to whether there is a generic or if another model can act as replacement, or maybe it is only the light may need cleaning I don't know your help would be greatly appreciated hoping my request is not too much trouble await your reply Kind regards Noeline
Hey there! To replace the LCD shouldn't be a hard task, as long as you can find the right ''modern'' one with a LED light source. I recall the display is similar to G800/600 so it shouldn't be a mess to find a replacement. Just follow my video and you can DIY very easy. Check for 24064 LCD 240x64 T6963C Controller Module Display Compatible RA6963 at Buydisplay.com. There are replacements with all the connectors included ready to install at Reverb.com. Hi mate, do you know if there is any lcd sreen replacement oled type for the Roland R8 Drum machine.ive looked everywhere and didnt found nothing. cheers
Any LCD with the same dimension will do the job..let me look around and let you know..

Not sure, I changed on my old G600, nothing got lost. But if your turn blank, replace the battery and do a factory reset..all the performances and programs will be back.I\m sure the internal styles and sounds never got lost, they are in a ROM memory.

Hi, great job. Did you have to reassign the ribbon cable wires to the new pins or did wire 1 got to pin 1, wire 2 to pin 2 and so on. Thank you.
Yes, pin by pin..and add 5V for backlight LED
Thank you, so pins 1- 20 on the keyboard pcb match pins 1-20 on this lcd, no change other than getting 5v for backlight? Great job and thanks for posting.

So i did this replacement....but now my screen seems to be inverted ? All letters are white instead of black...white keys are black and back keys are white....can i change this ???
You probably bought a white on black LCD. You can't do anything...
