It’s actually E minor. John Murphy had written the piece, before the movie, he had it originally set in D minor, but then transposed it to the aforementioned E minor at the last minute, as he thought it would sound more hopeful, that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I love this song!! I learned it about 2 years ago and it’s one of my favorite song to play quite honestly. The way you play it is truly beautiful! Keep up the extraordinary work!!

I could really kick myself now. I asked my parents for a keyboard for my 3rd birthday, which they got me a small one and some books with the stickers for the keys lol. Year or two later, they got me a bigger kids keyboard with my grandparents. I went on to have private piano pessons from the age of 7 until i was 15 (give or take a bit) i was studying towards a grade 6 exam with the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, during which i saved my "wages" from a saturday job and put in what i could and my grandparents bought me an upright piano. Am now 37, and hear my parents and my Nan telling me how they along with their friends would all say they could all see me play leading an orchestra at concerts when i was older. It was my grandad who has now passed away that really took a shine to me playing and really encouraged me. But now, am sitting in my living room, piano is just the other side of an archway in my dining room and i havent played it for over a year. Would take me probably 10yrs to get back to the same stage. I do regret stopping tbh as i really used to enjoy it.
