The kid is a trooper!
What a beautiful family and little Harvey is absolutely precious. He has such a sweet and fun personality. May the Lord continue to bless you with awesome adventures ❤
The dad jokes are terrible. I love them!!! What a great trip. Harvey is incredible!
Thanks
Hey, great to see this video! This is Jim. It was a pleasure to meet you guys near the end of the trail. I am the guy in a gray down jacket on top of Whitney with Patrick and Katie. Hope you are well, and wanted to wish you happy trails!
Hey Jim! Happy trails to you too!!
this is the way to make memories. this is something Harvey will Never forget thank you for Sharing this
You bet he loved it.
What's cool is Harvey is now a hiker for life. You've given him a fantastic start.
He has a good time on trail
When is a car, not a car……
When it turns into a driveway….
Great video, loved every minute
That's hilarious
You did such a wonderful job on this video. You captured the spirit of the adventure and the beauty of the trail in such a wonderful way. There’s no better family to hike with than the Suttons!!!
Well thank you for this nice words. We had a wonderful time and although it's a lot of work to edit videos we feel 5 to 10 years from now we're going to enjoy coming back to these
Wow what a family adventure. And after the AT, we really enjoyed watching. Loved the family friends jokes.
Haha glad you liked the jokes.
WOW!!! What an amazing trip you had. Excellent job on the video, loved taking the journey with you. It's a gorgeous trail. You guys are awesome and inspiring, living your best life, and creating those beautiful family memories. The Dad jokes were hilarious!
Thanks
The cool thing about being on Mt Whitney for sunrise is that you are on the highest point seeing the sunrise over the lowest point(Death Valley). Did it in 1989 w a full moon and was by myself for 2 hrs up there. A solitary sentinel experience!
This was so amazing. I really enjoyed the Dad jokes 😂. Harvey is growing up so fast and is still the best young hiker I’ve seen. Congratulations 🎉
Harvey did a great job! Well done guys ....
Thanks
What amazing parents you guys are to little Harvey. How fun! Love camping with my 3 girls and I would love to one day convince them to backpack with me. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, we try not fun together
Amazing job, thank you for sharing. Loved the Dad joke section & Harvey you are a rock star! 💫
We had fun 😀
Thanks to Kirk Lewis's PCT trail thru hike vlog I found out you were back on a trail.
Welcome back! I enjoy watching your family.🦋❤
Glad to hear
I had a compass melt from deet spillling on it. If you use the stuff, put it on a bandana, clothes, or hat, never on the skin. Harvey you are becoming quite the mountain goat. Great job mom and dad.
Thumbnail is simply outstanding, gorgeous views along the whole trail.👌👌
It's amazing what cell phones can do these days. But the views there were so good anybody's going to come back with good pictures
Thanks. It was great to see you guys out there in all those wonderful mountains. ✌🏻👊
It was awesome seeing you there as well, such good times
Ah you guys are such great parents to Harvey! Congrats on a phenomenal trip! It was wonderful to watch!!!
Thank you so much, we had a great time and Cassie worked hard to edit the video so we can have some family memories. Glad you enjoyed it
The natural scenery is very cool... the hiking trails are very friendly... so it's safe and comfortable for 6 year olds too...
Where the fabulous time, what great family memories
Harvey is gonna have SOO many GREAT memorys... Awsom trip .
Thanks
Great hike! Really enjoyed watching and loved the Dad jokes! Glad to see Harvey continue to grow and you all living life as an adventurous family! Beautiful scenery!
How awesome! Thanks for a wonderful video! Harvey's experiences as a young man will no doubt make him a leader! Way to go, Cassie & Josh for showing him what the world has out there for him! Beautiful hike! Pollyanna
Thank you, you've just been enjoying having family time on these adventures.
We loved watching your incredible achievement. We grew to love you from your AT videos. Great idea to do it all in one video. And it was so well done. The dad jokes worked to break it up. Congratulations!
I'm glad you enjoyed it
Bravo again! You have contributed so much positivity (in so little time) to the long-distance hiking sub-culture. Onward!
Thanks, it could be amazing to be out there hiking as a family we're happy to be able to share it with people
What a great adventure. JMT is on my short list.😁. I followed your whole AT hike. I thru hiked the AT also. You are a beautiful family. Kevin was a gift. What a great guy. Some really awful dad jokes. Harvey is special. I mentioned this during your AT videos.... Your family makes me cry a bit sometimes which I find wonderful. Best always~ Mad Rat
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, these comments make us want to do more adventures.
Super awesome video. Thank you so much. Blessings
What a wonderful video of your trip. Well done!! Congratulations! We missed you somehow. We were going north, started June 7th.
Wow! I don't know how I missed this! Last I had heard, you couldn't get a permit, and somehow I missed the video until now. (Had I known, I would have provided some trail angeling) Congratulations! And great job on the trail and on the video, really enjoyed watching your trek. We're preparing to finish the southern section of the JMT this August, hopefully after some of this epic snow has melted. Harvey, you rock!!
Just gorgeous!
Yes it was
Nice to see you guys again. What a great adventure. Harvey at 6yo has seen more sights and more adventures then most people will see in their lifetimes.
I know, one day he'll probably look back and hopefully appreciate these experiences. But I know he's having fun in the moment
Wow!! Loved it!! Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you liked it.
Hi Sutton Family
I met you in Vidette Meadows, and you hiked up toward Forester Pass. I asked your boy about his age, and when he answered me 6, I told him to add another 6 to get mine. Like the road !! Congratulations again for the parents, and hats off for your kid.
It was so great to meet you in all the others that we met all on the trip. It was a fun through hike
Wonderful video. It brought back memories. I did Mt. Whitney with my kids many years ago. They are now in their fifties. We approached it from the south, starting at Chicken Spring Lake. You did well to camp a bit past Guitar Lake. When we were there it was a mob scene. Congratulations on a major accomplishment. Harvey is a trooper.
Thanks 👍
Harvey has life figured out. He plays hard and sleeps hard. What more could you ask for? Thanks for taking us along - beautiful scenery.
If I could just be more like Harvey, he just enjoys life meanwhile I'm over here stressing about something LOL
Woohoo another Harvey adventure. Hopefully your parents had as much fun as you did. Beautiful trail. Thanks for sharing
We all had a wonderful time
Loved every minute of this video! So wonderful to see you all back on trail. What amazing childhood memories Harvey is experiencing! Catching fish with his hands 🐟, seeing a sunrise 🌅, and building with rocks 🪨! Thank you for sharing your amazing JMT adventure with us!
Glad you enjoyed. We had a great time
I really liked this video. Got a good ball player there. I’m hiking the JMT this Oct 2, 2022.
Good luck you're going to have an amazing time. What a wonderful Trail
LittleMan you are back!!😁👏👏. Great to see you and your mom and dad. You are doing awesome like always. Loved the video. 6 yrs old WOW!!!💪💪
Thanks we're really proud of him.
So inspiring and awesome! I'm born and raised in California with these mountains as my playground. Been up Whitney 3 times and yet to do the JMT. Recently started getting my young kids out backpacking. Such a wholesome meaningful experience for your son. He'll never forget those trips. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Very motivating!
Glad you enjoyed it. Those mountains were so beautiful
Great job on the JMT, I worked as a Ranger in Sequioa and Kings Canyon NPs, the High Sierra Back country is spectacular
Yeah we had a wonderful time and we got to meet two rangers and they were very nice
Congrats to you guys. The AT and now the JMT under your belts. That's so awesome. I enjoyed all the views and especially all the jokes. What a great experience for you as a family. I completed the AT this year and hope to do the JMT in the future. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Congratulations on finishing your through hike.
@@livesutton Thank you!
Great job on this video. Harvey is amazing!!! So are his parents!
Thanks
Awesome video!! enjoyed it thoroughly! My son and I did the JMT in 2021... .incredible place... beyond words in terms of the beauty of the mountains.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, that's awesome when you get to go with your kids and do such an amazing Trail
CONGRATULATIONS on your JMT completion.
Your family is awesome. 🦋❤
Thanks
Wow! Amazing as usual! Us moms have to spend so much time worried about the ‘tumbling to their death’ factor! 🤣 So nerve wracking but so worth it!
It was great
Great to see you all again, especially you little man. Hope you brought some hot wheels. Be safe all.
Yeah he definitely has his share of Hot wheel cars
WOW, what a HIKE. Great video and views. Always enjoy your videos. What a great family. Harvey the HIKER. Follow your hike on the AT. Nice you were able to see old friends from AT. Hopefully you have more hikes in the future. Peace be with you and Stay safe and HIKE ON!!!
Thanks, we had a great time. We are lucky that the time you worked out to be able to see sugar Man again
Thanks for sharing another adventure! What a sunrise. And the dad jokes were amazing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it
This was thoroughly enjoyable! The editing was fabulous and the videography was breathtaking! Thank you for sharing! Great to see Sugarman.
We were so happy to see sugar man as well
This is gorgeous!! Glad I found your videos again. No I would not do Half Dome trail even if I could. :)
You can do it!
I doubt it, I'm scared of heights.
I'm definitely not preaching because I've done the same with those spray cans with the white nozzles. I keep thinking I need to take a marker and draw a line either on the nozzle side or the opposite side, the side I should be on, so it doesn't happen again. I hope the eye survived. I'm enjoying the video. Thanks for making it.
Eye survived! But I will definitely be checking twice before spraying in the future. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Definitely has inspired me to do more hiking. 👍🏻
Glad you liked it.
Kevin, that was awesome of you to provide the permit!
It was so awesome of him!
Wow that was an awesome video. It was so good to see your family hiking again. Harvey is a regular pro now at this hiking life. Can’t wait for your next adventure.
Yeah we can't wait for our next adventure either.
Thank you for the great video again. I understand the trail much better now.
Awesome, we are hoping to make a light-hearted fun video but at the same time hopefully show the beauty and to give people a little bit idea of what the trails like.
Another great vid, love the dad jokes, great to see you guys having fun.
Thanks we had a wonderful time. We definitely live in a beautiful country
Thanks for sharing another hike with us.
You're welcome, we're very happy to share our trip
Soooo awesome and so fun to see y’all back out on trail! What a video! Great job, Sutton fam! Kudos to all of you…and the dad jokes….🤣🤣🤣🤣

Amazing adventure! It's great to see you back on the trail. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks
I just saw this post today!
This was an amazing journey!!!
You guys are living life to the fullest. ❤️
Thank you so much, we're trying to do our best with living life and it's fun to document it so we can look back in the future. Now we got to save money and I can't wait for next adventure
I love watching your family hiking adventures. You take me to places I may or may not see one day. 😊
Our country has so much beauty to offer, nobody would be able to see all of it. We're glad that we can share a little bit with you & I'm sure you'll be able to see some amazing places yourself.
Awesome! I've been looking forward to seeing this. Such a beautiful place. Very cool to see Sugarman.
We are very excited to see him
Man, you three are awesome in more ways than one!!! Congratulations on this thru hike. It was fun watching y’all again! What’s next? Lol!
I don't know, but our goal will be to make it amazing whatever it is.
It always is!!!
Enjoyed watching your adventure after following you on the AT. Amazing video. May God bless you in life and your new adventures!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the trip we had a great time Cassie worked really hard on the editing.
Pretty awesome, congrats
Thanks
Well done you guys! Another great adventure and amazing video! Greetings all the way from Switzerland, Sophie and Piit
Someday we'll have to go hiking in Switzerland.
@@livesutton Yes you do! We would like to help you out with planning that trip! Why not have a look at the Via Alpina - the hiking discovery of the 8 Alpine countries
Love, love, love this!!! You guys are amazing!!!
Thank you so much
So happy to see ya’ll back out there! Fantastic video and Harvey is really a Mountain Man now. Happy trails and best wishes from your Franklin NC fan club!

We tried that a little bit of fun
Kudos to Live Sutton! Great Adventure! Great Video!
Thanks
Awesome!
It was a great Trail
Best video ever. Congratulations! ~CrazyQuilt
Thanks we had a great time
Awesome video, guys!
Congratulations! What an awesome accomplishment! Thanks so much for the inspiration. My 6 yo and I watched your video together! We’d absolutely love to see a gear review video of Harvey’s gear if you’re willing to make one!
We'll have to see, life is busy when we get back so maybe we'll be able to make some kid gear videos at some point.
It was wonderful being able to vicariously hike with you all again. What beautiful scenery! What wonderful memories you are making. Harvey can still hike all day and have energy to run around camp. How wonderful you saw Sugarman again. Harvey, have a wonderful school year this year. Make a video sometime of the things you are doing and learning. What is your favorite subject? (Recess doesn’t count.) What books are you reading?
That would be an interesting video to make at some point. The audiobooks he took on trail were mostly about Minecraft which is a video game that little kids play to be able to build stuff. He really likes building things
@@livesutton My grandson plays Minecraft, too. I am a retired school librarian so I am always interested in what kids are reading. ❤️
What an amazing adventure!! Y’all are so inspiring to me, and my 6 year old boy!! 💙
We try to make the videos fun. But walking all day with a child is still tough until you learn how to fully engage with make believe and then the days go by easy
Great seeing you back. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing adventure. You guys are the greatest!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks so much, we had a great time.
Great video. Great experience for all. Looking forward to your next adventure. Congratulations.
Thanks, we'll have to figure out what our next adventure is going to be.
This is awesome, please tell me you have more videos you are gonna make from that trip
We wanted to get a comprehensive video out as soon as possible so Cassie worked really hard on that one. So we haven't decided if we can go back through and pick out little segments to make more videos. But either way definitely are going to do more adventures in the future
Awesome! You all did it!
Thanks
You should come do the Superior Hiking Trail! It’s another 200 mile trek through the beautiful north shore of MN!
We'll have to look into that for next summer
@@livesutton if you end up going that way I’d love to bring my son out and do a section with you!
Good to see you all back on the trail.
We are glad as well ☺️
Awesome video! Congratulations!
Thanks we had a great time
Amazing! Congratulations!
Thanks
Awesome!! Thank You for the video!!
Thanks for watching
Loved it! So proud of you guys!
Thanks, thanks so much for being with us at the beginning. So awesome to have you guys part of our trip and our life
That's cool.
Thanks
Awesome great opportunity. Keep on keeping on! Hello from Shenandoah valley.
Loved watching your new adventure! I’ve been waiting for it! Super awesome job guys and that sunrise was AMAZING 🤩
I can't believe we made it before the sun!
Can't wait!
Thank you for sharing your permits Kevin!
Cover page reminds me of a nastaligic family movie from the 80's. And its awesome! "Wilderness Family" anyone?
That Movie was a long time ago.
Amazing guys!
It was good to see you all again and to see sugar man, I remember when he was sugar daddy on the A T and now he is sugar bear. is that the same tent y’all had on the A T? Looks like you had a very nice hike. Thanks for all the views.
We had a great time. And yes it was the same tent that we had on the Appalachian Trail. Actually most all our gear was pretty much the same
Loved the video ((also loved the jokes!) so glad your family got to enjoy this trail. I hope that you'll do a Q&A. I'm curious what you thought about this Western trail compared to the AT, if you took waterproof shoes and what training Cassie did to prepare.
it's hard to compare the Western mountains to the AT. The views are amazing but some days we definitely miss the green tunnel because you do get tired of the sun exposure. Both great trails, and I would hike both of them again in a heartbeat.
We did not take waterproof shoes, we actually had the same type of shoes that we took on the at Moab 2 vent from Merrill.
We all did lots of lunges for training and got some weighted vest and tried to hike mountains and stairs multiple times a week.
@@livesutton Thank you for the reply. I actually got the same shoes as you and I found your video on the Merrill Moab helpful. It gave me confidence that the shoes would actually dry out. I live in Raleigh, NC and was curious how hiking out west compares. Your training plan sounds simple and effective. My husband's family lives in Lynchburg maybe we will run into you some time! Looking forward to your future travels.
Love watching you guys what is your next adventure
Well we just got back from this one and we got to save up money before we can do something else. But that is the big question
Missed this, came out just as I was starting or half way through my shift at work, gotta save it for later now.
Can't wait for you to see it!
@@livesutton I can’t wait either, somehow you’ve all became the most entertaining thing I have seen, also the best inspiration. Told my mom and she actually when I told her the age of Harvey mentioned that you should not have worried about getting him into preschool last year he would learn more on the trail… you’ll proved it.
I understand he’s young but why running with backpacks? That’s kinda a bad idea coming from a young semi experienced hiker, also how did he like his first flight?
