I put this on in the background while I worked my little corporate job and… as someone with an educational background highly similar to Doug’s, I think he hit the nail on the head. I had a signals professor literally just write his textbook, which he published, out on the board, and act like it was helpful. If you got lost, you were screwed. He didn’t seem to understand why his lecture method was unhelpful. When Doug said maybe he’s the weird or odd one out… no, Doug, I felt so seen! You’re so right. School is very valuable, please do go if you can… but if you’re suffering a lot because of the way classes are taught and feel that exams are impossible, I hope you remember to take a step back and just enjoy some moments with your friends. You may have a terrible coding assignment due tomorrow, but go for that random walk with your friend. Buy yourself a fun little sweet coffee to make it a little more bearable. I learned that it made all the difference in my final semester, and it was the happiest I’d ever been in college. Doug, you’re so real for saying this. The program that Doug used in the 'if I say-' videos is probably bad because the copy I have was purchased from the bargain bin of a hardware store in the early 2000s.
I'm sad to say that my experience with baldurs gate was similar, I got near the end of act 1 before realizing that it's just not for me. I know it's a great game but i just wasn't enjoying it.
Doug should do a once a year milking stream where he spams ads the whole time then also does maximum ads on the vod so we can get the whole experience. It should also be a sponsored stream, ideally 2 sponsors.
